Rovio support.. impressed!

  • A couple of weeks ago prior to 1.0.10, in a frantic “WTF is going on?’ moment with the exiting the totem menu bug, I emailed Rovio in a frenzy, not expecting anyone to respond from their generic contact@ rovio email address, but to my surprise someone emailed back within 12 hours to advise they knew about the issue and were working on it.

    Yesterday I reported a bug where I had lost 15 coins and again, a prompt response to request I update to the new version and to write back if the issue occurred again.. and donated me 1000 LUCKY COINS!

    Impressed :)

    Thats an interesting contrast to what I experienced. I have had an issue for mailbox problems for 3 days with no response whatsoever.

    Giving 1000 LC coins when you only lost 15 seems overly generous, but that works out great for you. I’m also very happy with their support. They gave me 200 LC for an issue I reported. I wasn’t expecting anything and would have been happy just to get a response other than the automated one that they read my mail. Other sites quite often don’t give you anything and many don’t even respond. People from Rovio monitor these forums more often than the forums get monitored at other gaming companies.

    – You posted that you sent them an e-mail complaining about your mailbox problem 1 day and 4 hours ago. What the hell do you expect? Give them some time. It took them almost a week before they got back to me.

    Did they give these to you in the form of a code or direct into your game?

    They add it directly to your account and send you an e-mail indicating that they did. One day I noticed an extra 200 LC in my game and was wondering how it got there at first. I was searching my iTunes account for charges to see if I accidentally spent money buying those extra lucky coins so I was really happy when I checked my e-mail to discover that Rovio added them. Just be sure you use the same e-mail address you used to register your Rovio account when sending them an e-mail describing a problem.

    @KillerKea That was only when I posted on here – I had the ticket open for a few days before that but since I hadn’t heard back I figured I would try the forums. I am not overly demanding as I have worked in tech for a long time and have actually run numerous helpdesk organizations. I know they don’t have posted SLAs and it is a free game, so I get it but 3 days is actually not asking much for a person to just write that they are investigating instead of it sitting unassigned with no feedback.
