We have received so many questions related to Angry Birds 2 that we’ve compiled a comprehensive FAQ to help provide a one-stop shop for answers. - Q. Is an internet connection required?
- Yes, sort of. It’s required only when you launch the game for the first time (officially stated by Rovio). Internet is also required for an initial download after updating to a newer version.
- What’s the max number of lives you can obtain?
- Typically, it’s 5, but for some people it could be 10 as a result of testing the game. If you’re lucky, you can increase the lives from 5 to 6 via a special offer.
- Is the card (bird) order always the same?
- Nope, it changes every time you start a level.
- What do Strike, Birdie and Headpop mean?
- Strike means you completed a room of a level with just one bird, and that grants a bonus of 25K points. Birdie means you completed a room with two birds, and that grants a bonus of 10K points. Headpop is awarded when you hit a pig directly with a bird. Be advised that the bonus points might be lower in the first levels.
- Do the changing levels have any impact on the score?
- Supposedly not. Rovio officially stated that you can pretty much achieve the same score regardless of the structure layouts. Personally, the layouts have made significant difference for me.
- Is my Angry Birds 2 progress saved?
- It depends. For Android, if you connect to Facebook your progress will be saved there. For iOS players, your progress is saved through Game Center.
- What is the Arena (video below)?
- The Angry Birds 2 Arena is a daily tournament in which you compete against 14 other players across the world. Arena levels are endless, with the objective to win bird feathers and advance through the leagues (from Vanilla to Diamond). The higher your score, the higher your rank, and the higher your rank, the more feathers you’ll win. Be advised that an internet connection is required to participate in the Arena. The Arena is unlocked after completing Level 25. A first look video is below.
- What do the feathers grant?
- With feathers, you can increase your birds’ ranks (level up). Higher ranking birds are more powerful, causing more destruction, which means you can obtain more points and earn extra cards quicker.
- What are the red and blue presents found in levels?
- If you collect a red present, after completing the level you’ll receive either a spell or some bird feathers from that present. If you collect a blue present, after completing the level you’ll be able to send that present to a friend (if you’ve connected the game to Facebook).
- What does the Golden Pig do?
- Popping a Golden Pig immediately fills up the Destruct-O-Meter, which earns you an extra card.
- How to achieve a large number of points?
- Try to do Strike or at least Birdie shots while also trying to destroy as much material of the structures as you can. It’s not enough to just pop the piggies.

I am curious about this…Angry Birds 1 gives 10,000 extra points per bird for unused birds after completing a level. I am just wondering if Angry Birds 2 does the same. I haven’t noticed receiving any extra points after beating a level.

Do you know what the name of the jumping pigs is?
No. You don’t get the 10,000 for each bird you have left. The main reason is that they allow you to continue with a free bird, or with gems so having the score system like that wouldn’t really be fair to everyone. Your score is based on total destruction of each level/stage. Hope this helps.

How are people getting 2 of the same bird in the arena
Ex: They have 2 Matildas
When you get extra birds, they are random so you could have two of any bird, or spells.
That doesn’t happen to me ever and i wonder the same how the opposer get 2 of the same birds. And you only get 1 of the same? I don’t understand. Thanks
Whenever I have 7 bird then extra card is a spell. So never happened to have 2 of the same birds. I guess opposer also doesn’t have just showing like that, not the real progress. Developers could tell the truth .
Is it only me, who thinks that AB2 Arena sucks? The more you play the more you win… What an absurd?!
Yes just you. How would you design it? I play multiple times a day in the arena to compete by getting most stars and playing other people. This is how any “arena ” style game play works. If you don’t like arena, they’re are plenty of other things to do. .play regular game, or play the exclusive levels for each bird that are released daily.
As I understand, the arena is a competition. And it shouldn’t be only dependent on how many times you play. Why don’t just compete on higher scores?
Why is it that in some levels I have to get 775,000 in order to pass the level but my fiance who’s been playing the same game gets to that level and doesnt have to get 775,000 to pass. Another level wanted me to get 600,000 in order to pass …
The birds purchased and not used to complete the game, what happens to them ?
to level 99 on Angry Birds 2. I gained many new cards, birds and benefits. Then the app bombed out and would load. After trying numerous times over a few days I resorted to reinstalling the app. It deleted all my scores and rewards over 99 levels and restarted at level 1, as if I had never played before. Is there any way of getting back my previous achievements?
Google tech support for Angry Birds 2. Tell them your problem. They may be able to help. Then they may give you extra gems to make up for your pain.
Is there a setting that I need to alter to allow me to play in the arena.
As I play everything else but as soon as I try to load the arena it takes me right out to my home screep.
I believe the arena becomes available once you have reached level 25 but not absolutely sure.
Is there a way to get a specific color of feather (aside from the daily exclusive level)??
At first my spell cards only showed up when I selected them, but now they randomly show up in my deck. This messes me up because I think I am using a red present but end up using my saved spells. Is there a way to switch that back??

Hi Tommy, 680 lvls to date and every 2 wks a further 20 lvls are added.
OK I’m playing the arena and not using spells but randomly I will get an extra card that is a spell(which I already chose not to use). When the game is over and I che K my spell count, I will have lost the spell that the game have me. Don’t steal my spells. I want the right to choose when I use them!

This abird 2 game is not letting me past level 377 …it keeps crashing after one to 2 birds.after losing all my. Lives …taking my gems…I’ve been on this level. Everyday for weeks now . And holdin buttons down to fix. But to no avail I must probably do what my. Husband did and delete it….we’re seniors about to retire.and would’ve liked to play. But time. To quit and. End. This madness….as you know this. Game doesn’t probably have all those other levels that they say……they. Are just. Not ther….
How do you get the elder cards?
At the end of the tournament yesterday I was in first place and when I went to get my reward this morning I was in second place

Full internet connection but will not connect to collect my award for winning the tournament. Tried all day and all it says is no internet connection which is incorrect as I am connected to Facebook through this but for some reason will not allow me to collect. Also will not allow me to play arena or level my birds up whilst it is messing me around. Please help

It always takes a few days to get my rewards from the tournaments. It says I’m not connected to the Internet but I am. This happens at the end of every tournament. What’s going on?
Problem. I have won a tournament and got 300 gems, bought 10 arena tickets and the game crashed. And when i log in again all the gems and all the bought tickets were gone…

What do the numbers in the upper left-hand corner of each card stand for?
That’s the level of your bird. As you collect feathers, the bird levels up. The higher the level, the more points you get for destruction meaning higher points on levels and earning extra bird/spells MUCH faster during a stage.
Regarding bird levels… The new feat says to “Level All Birds to 23!” It shows I have 18/23. There are 7 birds that I can count. my bird level’s range from 35 – 47. What does 18/23 mean. How do I level all birds to 23?
Why can’t you carry over the birds from previous levels or stages in daily challenge? It would help when you reach the level to go against the pig! The extra birds are earned and should be rolled over to the next stage. Thanks
Anyone know how you upgrade spells?
My ab2 spells are @ lvl 3 now not sure how they got that high. I thought it may have been a couple things, but after doing them multiple times after getting lvl 3 and they haven’t upgraded they’re still at 3.
They use the value of your lowest bird to determine spell value. If all your birds have a value of 5 except one is at 3 then the spell value will be 3.
I have been enjoying the game since it first came out, and have completed all the available levels but… after three days of battling between 1st and 2nd place amicably, out of nowhere someone is now in 1st place with 1000 points more than the top two places. What is this weird tactic? It does not inspire me continue playing when this is an unfair and obviously blatant way to get players to spend money to even feature on the leader board. It is perhaps time to find a better game to play.
i finished 83 stages but 84 level is “need at least 3 silver birds to enter” what is this
