One strategy for Angry Birds Bad Piggies level 23-3 is to to fling the bomb bird directly into the left helmet pig, and trigger upon impact. The explosion should clear the pigs on the left, and send debris onto the top tnt. Then drop the second bomb bird in the gap between the two lower structures. The score in the video below is 75,180. . The score in the video below is 131,400.

Haven’t got a 1-birder yet, but I had the TNT drop into the middle of the bottom structure on one play. That might make it possible if it explodes just right.

I’ve had the TNT drop down onto the middle a few times but it tends to fall on top of the stack of 3 stones & does absolutely nothing to them when it explodes. The one time I had it drop into the gap (where the 2nd shot goes) it didn’t do enough damage to take out the glass & the pig at the bottom left. But I think it could, giving a 1-birder.
The top TNT really has to roll off to the right to kill that stubborn top pig like in the walkthrough. It fell left more often for me & it rarely kills the pig that way.

Ok here’s a thing.. the front tower self-destructs. It gave me 26k then I stupidly missed the gap between the towers. Potential for 140+ here I suspect. Remember you heard it first here!!

Time wise, not sure, as was doing something else but no more than a couple of minutes

Happened again. 21k. The problem is that the collapse was to the left and forced the high arc shot into the gap. The bomb bird is not strong enough from this angle to break through the wood and so no advantage is gained. A better self collapse and we’re in business.

I have a screenshot if anyone is interested but nowhere to post it!

In the meantime (I suspect a long wait for the collapse which probably only happens once in long time) there is an alternative way which maybe slightly easier. First bird into angled wood on front tower just below the helmeted pig and explode on impact. Object is to clear all wood/stone from the shelf. The debris will usually destroy a lot of the centre as well. 60-70k+. It should then be easier to get the next bird into the gap between the towers by just firing straight at it instead of the high arc shot which often fails. This should destroy just about everything. About 115k for me. Final bird just aim at the rock supporting the top bird and TNT and detonate it as soon as it impacts. 121k. 10k bonus.

Same strat as outlined but used only two birds for 133k

@steviep — You could post the screenshot in your album and post a link in the forum on self-destroying levels (partial self-destruction is tracked as well as total). Any more data on frequency or length of time would help. Does it always collapse to left?

@Steviep147 Finally got collapse to left for 21K. My arc shot also did not break wood, although normally does. : (( At least I improved my score by 13K following your strat. Have not been able to get as high a score on first and second shots.

some minor variation on the video strategy for lazy (wrt detonation) people:
1st) onto the (high side of the) small stone, pushing the structure above it a bit to the right, the bird itself rolling a bit to the right as well (it shouldn’t bounce back), such that upon explosion the small stone on top is launched to (the side of) the top structure making it collapse (so much the same as in the video, but no manual detonation).
2nd) into the gap, bouncing against the lower wood of its right side (breaking the wood, making that side collapse) into the left-bottom corner of the gap, and let it explode there (again, no manual detonation; just wait for the right tower to bury it).
repeatable (135k+ scores quite frequent), easy (fixed aim for both), and more possible (than my current 138.5k).

Activation of the first Bomb Bird just above the lower middle stone worked great. I did something different with a manual detonation just prior to impact or just right at impact to get the stones (little square stone block) and wood to fly to the right to hit the top tnt and large pig. The highest score with the first BB was 88K+ when the tnt fell left, exploded and the two left pigs remained. I blew the second BB when it went a just tad to the right on the base block.

Lined up the second BB above a Blue Bird’s width from the sling’s base. The second Bomb Bird worked the best if it comes to rest on the base rock just to the right of the little pig in the wood box. This one had natural detonation.

I almost managed a one birder, but I am not sure it would have been better than with 2 birds.

I just scored 145,780 points on a 1 birder using the @asher first shot. After hundreds upon hundreds of attempts, all the piggies finally popped, leaving 3 birds unused. They can be seen in my screenshot, as can the trajectory of the first/only bird used. (Same trajectory as in the @asher pics)
