Happy Birthday Angry Birds! The Angry Birds “Birdday Party” update (v2.0.0) is now available for iOS, Mac, PC, Nokia, and Android via the Android Market and Amazon AppStore. This update — which Rovio announced a few days ago — celebrates the two year anniversary of Angry Birds! And coincidentally, we also wish a very happy birthday to Bird Leader as well (who is just a wee bit older than 2)!

Notice to all users: An update numbered v2.0.2 is making its way around and includes several bug fixes. It has thus far landed for all platforms, I beleive (Mac, PC, Nokia, iOS, and both Android ports). These improvements include: Fixing the “Scores Ending in 9” bug, Golden Egg #1 missing from Mac/PC, trackpad sensitivity issues on Mac, Facebook levels being permanently locked, and more.
This update includes:
- 15 new levels, some of which are very challenging. We have video walkthroughs available if you need help.
- A secret achievement that is a bit challenging to unlock (video walkthrough).
- One more Golden Egg, which is revealed in our Complete Golden Eggs guide.
- Big change to the Golden Egg levels, to achieve the star you now have to surpass a minimum score, much like a normal level.
- The Orange/Globe Bird is now available.
- A brand new pause screen that is being dubbed the, “Rovio Channel”. Note: There seems to be no way of disabling this, which I know many will find a bit frustrating.
- New “Level Completed/Failed” screen that is quite similar to the one seen in Rio.
- One of the pause menu items shows a map of New York with the words “Coming Soon”… Interesting, at least.
Rovio has said, “It’s a cool new feature we’ll be experimenting with in the future”. - Pro Tip! Birthday Cakes are worth 3000 points!

I know this is off-topic, but I was wondering… does Angry Birds progress sync with iCloud? So if I were to get another iDevice, and synced it with my current device via iCloud, and it loaded on all my apps from my current device, would my AB progress be loaded on with the app?
If you were to get another iOS device and, when setting it up, chose to restore from an existing backup, then yes, your progress should be there. But that’s just a 1-time “restore”, not a sync per say.
Ok. I was just wondering because Cut the Rope got an update today that says it can now sync levels with iCloud, and I was wondering if AB did the same.
Not yet. While iCloud probably could work fine for Angry Birds, their goal is far loftier: A “Cloud” sync across all types of devices (iOS, Android, Mac, PC, etc.)

Updating should be the same, regardless of country. Birdday Party has not been released for PC yet, but should be soon.

Achievements are currently not available for PC.
Golden eggs, on the other hand, are available in seasons but not in rio.

It’s “savoir”, not “saver”, and yes, “savoir” is correct, but “que” can never be at the end of a sentence.
“that” can either be a conjunction or a pronoun. It is only translated by “que” if it is conjunction (e.g. “We know that he’s here” = “Nous savons qu’il est là”), but here it is a pronoun.
So the correct translation would be: Oui, nous le savons.

Fair enough. I’m a few years removed from my French classes. I haven’t taken them since I was an undergraduate. Fortunately, I still know enough that I can go to Casino de Montreal and play Blackjack and Craps — though that only involves counting as high as 21 and knowing the word “colorer”.
Its odd because I think que is also used in spanish. When you just translate the word it says What, but if you translate the whole sentence it says: Yes, we know that.
By the way, if you enter “we know that” into google translator, then the translation is “nous savon que”. But if you enter “we know that.” (with a dot at the end), then the translation is correct (“nous le savons.”)

Sorry, I don’t know anything about updates for WP7. In fact, Rovio had so many issues with WP that they considered never updating the platform. I don’t know what the resolution was.
The New York map is kind of mysterious. Could it be a new episode? “Manhattan Chase”? Or, could it be a new feature, as Rovio said. Like, a tracking device, or something. I am also a bit confused with the titling of this episode. It was first announced as “Happy Birdday”, but was released as “Birdday Party”. Is this a change of idea, or a mistake? At last, though I haven’t played “Birdday Party”, fifteen levels seems to be a mere drop of the lake. Will there be more levels coming? Also, though this has nothing to do with “Birdday Party”, will the Developer Birds from Angry Birds Chrome be playable, as rumored, in the February Valentine’s Day update from AB Seasons?
— The map has since been removed, though Rovio did say it was a cool feature they wanted to work with in the future. What it is exactly is unclear, though.
— There is no mistake. All of Rovio’s posts since the released have called it “Birdday Party”, so that seems to be the way it was supposed to be. Perhaps “Happy Birdday” was meant to throw us off.
— There are only 15 levels because (I believe) it was meant to be a time-specific celebration. Rovio usually releases updates in 15-level batches, and this episode would lose its meaning in a few months. So next step will be a whole new Episode.
— The “Developer Birds” were simply graphics used in a commercial and are not official “Angry Birds”. And there is absolutely 0 evidence of a Valentine’s Day update for Seasons.
Why do you have to uninstall the Angry Birds you have on your PC before downloading the new version of Angry Birds?

You don’t have to. You can download the latest version and it will overwrite your version but should maintain your progress.

Sounds right. If you uninstall the app, you should lose your progress.
another thing about the brand new update,you can slingshot your birds anyway you want them to.
even if you tap the slingshot with a bird on,the bird will get off it!
It’s been like that for as long as I can remember. Because even your “tap” is still a hold according to a computer which reads its screen 1000x per second.

Rovio said that removing the level number is by design and they have no plans to return it.
Look at all the cutscenes when Birdday Party came out.
They now look different from what they used to look like!

As usual, don’t run the update from the Nokia Store as you’ll lose all your progress…wait for the in game update to become available.

I got it today from Ovi-Store and now already all levels done with 3-Stars :)
In case you would like to play it and don’t want to start at zero, backup the file ‘highscore.lua’, which you can find in file ‘20030E51’ on your PC, then update AB classic via OVI-Store, play one Level of Birdday Party and then copy back the highscore.lua file. This worked for me.

Hope that fixed the trackpad issue.
They did not fix the level select background discrepancy.
Let me know about the trackpad issue. Additionally, can you check the Golden Egg #1 bug? (This may require you to backup and then erase your data to check; then once you verify its existence/absence, restoring your progress.)

No. It’s just that v2.0.2 came out today for iPhone and there is only one cake now.
Obviously there was a coding issue so it needed to be removed.
How do you get the new pause menu? What platform is it on? I am on iPad and I can’t see it.
Is you Angry birds version 2.0.0 or higher? You could check by clicking the “I” on the menu screen. If not, have you checked for any updates?
