Angry Birds Mighty Hoax 3 Star Walkthrough Level 4-13

Our strategy for Mighty Hoax level 4-13 is to break the hollow wooden square with the Red bird. Make sure the small stone block falls out of the way. Fire the first Yellow bird through the new gap and onto the TNT within. Launch the next Yellow bird into the hollow wooden square within, clearing the last two pigs as the structure collapses. The score in the video below is 79,620.

79870 with the video method, which worked well enough. The structure on this level has few exploitable spots, which when coupled with how it’s constructed, makes it somewhat tough. I haven’t been able to engineer a “pushing over” of the structure leading to collapse.

There’s not a whole lot to say about this one. I did it just like the video, and scored 84k after about 20 minutes. I could understand if it takes a lot longer though.

Basically the same strategy as in the video made by AMslimfordy. Found that aiming a tad higher on the 2nd and 3rd birds created more damage.

As others have said, the walkthrough is really the only way that I can see to get this with three stars.

A few observations:

With the first bird, it doesn’t really matter if the square wooden block breaks (it’s better if it does, of course). You can still get to the TNT easily with the second bird.

After the second bird, if you are going for a high score, you want to make sure that most of the wood from the first structure is broken, not just damaged and lying in a heap. You should have at least 35K at this point.

With the third bird, I found that I got the most damage if the shot was able to push things to the right rather than falling to the left. I was able t accomplish this, with some success, by hitting just barely below the wood plank between the two stories of the structure. The bird destroyed the plank while, at the same time, giving everything a shove to the right.

I hope this is helpful to someone. It feels so strange going back to these old levels!

What DocTonyNYC said. I am quite surprised that of my 3 top scores in Mighty Hoax that I used to have, this is the only one remaining. And this score just barely tops second place. A much smaller margin than my victories I used to have in 4-7 and 4-18.

Thanks for the review, @doctonynyc. In addition to your already keen observations; first bird to the bottom corner of the wooden square often destroys all 5 left-most wooden objects and (at least) damaging 1 of 2 left-most stone planks, yielding up to more than 8k. Wow, it was a mere 5 wooden objects with some stones left for my 82k. It must be an uphill task for higher score. Great shooting, @dollarbill2208… :)

It seems to be puppy time again! Followed Slim’s video method, sometimes the wood just seems more like balsa wood, less like oak.

84330/3 for the daily challenge with more in it. fwiw: was shooting the 2nd and 3rd onto the top/tip of the long vertical stone slabs. here’s a link to the first picture of my album illustrating this for two runs

the first being the run for my current best of 84k+, and the second for another good run of 84k-.

1st things 1s: I humbly thank @annach for badge nominations! Somehow I had to try even harder on challenge of the day especially since ABO has not been my forte.

And did I try&try&try until I was ready to come here whine&beg for help for surely I was doing something wrong not being able to get even 83k. Well, 1 last try with full concentration and and… couldn´t believe my own eyes:

@micromax – well done! This is some beautiful flinging. Congratulations on your second puppy! By the way, when you write about your underdog winning strategy, you should mention @kelani and @sweetp, as they are the ones giving away puppies (sweetP, in particular, gives very cute ones :)) Another requirement is a screenshot that shows one’s score. I don’t know the official rules for those who show videos, but I would think that logically it should be something like this: if the video shows actual winning score, then you don’t need to provide a screenshot, but if your video shows the strategy, but has a different score, then you need to provide a screenshot that shows the score you claim. @admins – what do you say?

Thanks (also for the info) @annach! I have been on&off the challenges like 2 days on and 2 months off but looks like that might change. So didn´t know all the basics but will keep these things in mind in future. Also figured that video is even better evidence than a screenshot but will of course provide one when reqiuired. How about it @admins?

I switched to Android TOO LATE. On Android the wood seems to melt more easily. I should have tried it sooner, but note to self & anyone else reading this …. sometimes there are pretty significant differences betwen platforms & while I didn’t compare our newest puppy parents’ platforms, with my aim & device my old Android phone seemed to be the easier way.

Using the video method. Took a lot of trial and error, slight variations in the birds’ angles and some luck. Fell just short of 76k several times before eventually getting 3 stars with 80k.

Gotta love Chuck in the Classics version. Got some good three bird scores before finally hitting a good two-birder. I sent Red close to the top left corner of the hollow wooden square and got enough collapse to clear the way for Chuck. I aimed Chuck just slightly upward and accelerated immediately to clear the level. Score proof:
