This video shows you how to get the papaya that is hidden in Angry Birds Rio Carnival Upheaval Level 20 (8-5). Be prepared for some some frustration, as this is the hardest papaya to get. The labeled crate is extremely well protected at the bottom center of the level. Below are two strategies, both courtesy of AMslimfordy.
Hard – Blu is the key to this strategy. Fire Blu at the highest structure (the one overlooking the TNT field). You need a little luck as Blu must do two things. First, he must roll backwards and pop the marmoset blocking the gap leading down to the labeled crate. Second, he must nudge the top (slightly thicker) stone block at the top of the gap so that the white bird’s egg bomb can penetrate far enough. You can then waste the Red Bird.
Harder – Fire Blu very high vertically and try to make him land right above the labeled crate. His conniption fit should clear quite a bit of debris. With a bit of luck, there should be a gap leading straight down to the crate (luck is a key word here as a stone block typically blocks the path to the crate). Waste the Red Bird and use the White Bird to drop a bomb down that shute. If you’ve got another strategy feel to leave a comment.
Waste the bluebird, sling it backwards. Use the red bird, high arch, the same arch the the video shows with the blue bird. This should clear the platform of the wood square right above the box. Use the white bird to drop an egg ON the platform above the box. Easiest way to do it.
yep, that did it. thanks! I am replaying these on my kindle and forgot the stress this one caused me. glad I checked the walkthroughs.
I did it the “harder” way posted by AMslimfordy,
found I could replicate the first shot abount 2/10 times.
It had been a LONG time since I’d played RIO, so viewing these posts helped refresh my aging memory cells. I used the “harder” method and bagged the fruit on my 5th attempt. It doesn’t matter whether you waste Red or not, just don’t let him mess up the shot with White. Thanks, guys and gals!
Thanks very much, Tony!! Took about 50 tries, but worked.
I wish you could explain how this is possible. If you launch the red bird only, he has to clear-out the marmosets AND the blocks? If you don’t clear the marmosets, then the egg won’t make contact with the crate. If you do clear the marmosets, there isn’t enough momentum to clear the boxes with the same bird.
Tony,
Thanks that worked on the first try. I have been trying for 2 days until I read your post.
Wow, this one is tough! I managed to finally get it using a combination of the “Harder” strategy and the one posted by Tony above. Arc Blu very high so he shoots down into the gap. This is the most important one, as the stones need to fall to the left–they usually fall right and block the gap. Then, instead of wasting the red bird, use it to clear the wood off the platform. Then use the white bird to drop an egg bomb onto the platform. Took me forever, but it finally worked!
It took about an hour, but your “hybrid” method worked. Got my last papaya! Thanks!
Thank you – finally got it!!!
I did it with 2 shots and a bit of luck.
Arc Blu high in order to enter the gap. Do it until pit remains clear of debris (it’s possible, hard but possible). Then fire a red exactly the same arc of blue. It must enter the pit without touching the blue platform.
After 35-40 attempts I got 8-5 papaya this way
finnaly, i did it! it takes 50-90 tries, but its okay.
Thanks for the video these was really difficult to get but finally got in 10 tries.
I also used the blue and red bird to clear the path for the egg-bomber but you do have to be careful, if your arc is not perfect it will knock the stone blocks into the clearing. I managed to do this in about 12 tries, then I tried to do it with just blue and red, have come close but haven’t mastered it yet. This was a hard fruit to get! Fun version of the Angry Birds, I especially love the dog that pops the beach balls.
boy howdy gee willikers gosh darn it to heck. you ain’t kidding about frustration. took me 95 minutes to get this fruit. (my wife was about to make me quit, as my epithets were scaring the cat!)
OMG!!! After coming here and watching tbe walkthrough and reading the comments, imagine my surprise when I got the fruit with just the blue bird on the fifth try. Wow!!
I used the harder way with one twist: clearing the platform above the crate and directly bombing the platform to collect the paspaya. :D
I did it by clearing the way by firing blu between first two towers then direct hit towards the fruit with red bird some pieces broken then bomb between pieces then fire the direct hit to the fruit and luckily get it first time while trying this after trying many of times the above first two methods,
I had tried it the “hard” way repeatedly but never could clear a chute for the White Bird egg. So I came here, read that I wasn’t the only one tearing hair out and went back and tried again. Voila! Papaya came flying out!
I think I relax when I read about everyone else’s frustration. It makes me feel better.
I found this one of the harder hidden fruit levels. I used the high arc of Blu to clear marmoset, then used the red bird to clear the wood square blocks at bottom of “steps”. I think that’s the key because then you can drop the white bird egg on top of the blue platform and still breaks box, rather than trying to fit it down the gap exactly. Also, if Blu breaks that bottom wood square, can waste red and go right with the egg.
After many attempts I chose another way that was so simple I’m amazed no one else posted it. Clear away like the video and drive yourself crazy OR follow the steps of using blue and red but if everything doesn’t clear DON’T WORRY use a Samba bird. Toss the Samba bird so it lands on the platform above the papaya box then activate it and boom you have the papaya! ;-):-D:-)
Don’t be afraid of using the “harder method”. Tried the video way for 20 minutes and got nowhere, so had nothing to lose trying the “harder method”-immediately easier to clear the way for bomb bird and got the papaya on 4th attempt.
Me too – I ‘harderer’ it in oooo only about an hour!
Was able to obtain the papaya with the harder method. Took a while to get the aiming correct with both birds. Aiming tip with the blue bird was to line up the feet with the sling and have a slight gap. Very small gap if any. So far this is probably the hardest papaya level yet.
