Our strategy for Timber Tumble Level #8 is to knock the hanging log rightward, causing it to swing and dislodge the TNT nearby. The chain reaction is devastating, clearing the entire right side of the level. Finish off by releasing the remaining logs with a Yellow bird. The score in the video below is 236,010.

Just like the video but the large metal ball rolled left detonating the 2 smaller TNTs and doing a lot of damage to the logs.
I have never been able to have those tnts explode. Very frustrating!
To get it to happen, the wood plank above it has to fall and not damage the stone. It’s very rare, but it does happen. That’s the difference between 240k and 244k.
Say, @kelani, CONGRATS on your score! I note that there does NOT appear to be anyone ahead of you who is using a PC. At this posting I’m at 244,710 —- & I can see how (on my unit) it might be possible to get to the 245,000 score (based on debris I leave behind at scores around 244,7nn). Is it possible that this episode is NOT PC 246,000 possible? Your thoughts would be MUCH appreciated! :-) !
I’m 2 behind you {with NO hope of catching you, btw :-)} …. &
w a a a y behind @bernersenn (CONGRATS to you too!).
Great fun; THANKS, all :-) …. rogue
@lvmh, same with me….
I shoot the first bird just a tiny tiny bit lower than video. Sometimes, but not often , it will then bounce off banana crate and then blow the small TNTs. Just increases the chances on those TNTs.
@breadman3
that just happened to me, not the metal ball but the first red bird did it.
@emider Had a bit of luck when yellow bird came in and got ’em for me. Not sure from whence he bounced though.
In my opinion there is only one strat here, the one showed in the video.
A few tips:
1. You can heva a one-birder here (all the marmosets killed), will bring you about 200-205k, #30k
2. The black boulder n the video doesn’t always fall on these tnt’s. When this happens and the pendulum is still present, wait with the second bird till this pendulum is on the right most position. That forces after yellow bird cuts that rope ABOVE the boulders (slightly different as in video) the pendulum to fall on the renaining tnt’s.
3. Repeat, repeat and repeat. Score will going up
@bernersenn Thank you for the suggestion about the timing on the second bird. I’ve got the high score for now because of it. BTW, I did manage a 225k one-birder; the red bird has to hit on the top of the hanging log hard enough to push it into the wooden structure to detonate a TNT, but it has to bounce high enough so that it cuts the cable when the log is on the back swing. I’ve only been able to do it a couple of times, and this two-bird solution clearly gives higher scores.
@snoid well done, many gratz to your score. Glad to help
Thanks ABN for the video and @bernersenn for the tips. Played this level for a few days…fun fun fun level to fling. Watching the sequence of destruction was mesmerizing. The six timber logs couldn’t be damaged nor destroyed for extra points. Something must have changed in the level from the previous comments.
Top score as per the standard strategy.
Here’s an alternate 2b strategy that makes the black ball roll onto the small TNTs more often.
First Red into the notch under the left side of the 5-log pile. It’s a bit tricky, but frequently snaps the rope. Red, logs and pendulum destroy the left structure.
Fire Chuck into the wood blocks of lower stone plank behind where the log pendulum used to be. Destruction happens normally, but for some reason, the stone plank survives more often, letting the black ball roll across and detonate the TNTs.
This also solves a problem the standard strategy has, where a marmoset survives the collapse after the 1st shot. Scores seem pretty similar, but being able to get those TNTs more often is always a good thing.
Thanks @kelani I didnt try your strat as I just actually read it .But I did see the part of getting the wood plank to fall just right without destroying the cement above the double tnt..I did that by aiming low on the round log.:) got me in a better spot..not the best but good enough for now:)
Thanks @kelani for the strat. I did a video on Bluestacks with the aiming points. Works most of the time. Lady Luck may get a 🐶
https://youtu.be/RW873a_BgoA?si=l4VJeUGLNhin10hr
Additionally I have also used the video strat. The aiming point for the first bird which works 9/10 times to get the stone to roll down is included in the notes. No idea where a puppy is coming from!
Did the bump the log thing and cut the rope at top….. just ended up with a lot of points….. here is a link before the zoom in and extra bird bonus showing the remaining debris

link to final score screen cause i have it

@tmax @hunnybunny I know it’s been forever but I was studying the comments trying to move up the charts a little and I was puzzled by your 1st photo, how could you have such a high score with so much debris left and then I noticed you are missing a log? Could the log have swung over to the 2 elusive tnt’s and been destroyed? How much is a log worth? Just wondering if you have any ideas. I added hunnybunny since you are the self proclaimed Queen of the Timber or whatever you said. Appreciate any thoughts.
@late2thegame I can’t comment on @tmax score, but this is one of those annoying levels where stuff disappears – in this case the car and various bits and pieces behind the tree – and you have no idea what happens there!
It’s a long time since I played Timber Tumble, might have to give it another go…
@huwg that’s a magnificant score! Any tips please :-)
@sweetp I think the top score here is suspicious. Without sounding too smug (oh yes I’m going to sound very smug) I am the queen of Timber Tumble! I’ve asked @huwg for a strategy, he’s been active since then but has failed to respond. Three excellent flingers have broken 146k, but have got nowhere close to the alleged 149k. Unfortunately, I’m not one of them.
May I suggest you take down the sus score, and award puppies to those who top the (current) second place score
@hunnybunny you truly are the queen of timber tumble, I was going to ask about the current top score too, there is not a screen shot in @huwg ‘s album and at a minimum would like that curtesy. @sweetp
Hey guys, @hunnybunny, @sweetp & @jonstad, I have no idea who @huwg is or whether the score is correct, but I’m just wondering if when Timber Tumble came out there were those free PU with a 3k bonus gift from all those annoying ads. I seem to think I saw something like that in another Rio Challenge level where #1 & # 2 were about 3k apart. I honestly don’t remember whether any of these extra 3k were in this Release, but perhaps this will jog someone else’s memory. I too would like to see huwg to respond to hunnybunny.
@hunnybunny @sweetp @jonstad @huwg I decided to catch up on my android tablet (@wilee-bird) and see if this was one of those levels that was PC cursed. I came to no conclusion on the PC cursed thing, but I sure was inundated with free PU’s when I tried to play on the android tablet. I have nothing concrete except my experience in AB to go on, but in my opinion 249,050 is not possible.
Thanks @stocktoad. It may be a typo, or he/she posted into the wrong level. I’ll look into it.
Following on from @bernersenn‘s tip above, I found that if you launch the yellow bird immediately it gets into the sling, on the trajectory shown below, it will (sometimes!) take out the two little TNTs.
I’ve hit between 240 / 245k regularly with this method
Just hoping for 246k now…..
TT#8 trajectory
Have just checked the score and it is correct. If someone gives me instructions on how how upload a screenshot I will oblige. Only problem is that I can’t remember if it is an old score or one that I got while putting in all my scores and was trying to get above the average on all levels.
I was posting the scores through following the walkthroughs. To be honest I was surprised to have a high score and checked it there and then but can’t remember how I got the score, haven’t been anywhere near since!
Thank you @huwg for replying, All of us above are always suspicious of unknown (to us) flingers, who post a high score. The easiest way is to look at your scores once you post them and if you hit a top score, immediately post a strategy, or a thanks to someone for their strategy, or, in the case of befuddlement, a “Sorry, I have no idea”. (I’ve certainly got one of those!)
To post a screen shot, you obvious need to take one first, not knowing what platform you play on I can’t advise, and then go to your ABN account, album, upload picture, title it, and copy and paste in the walkthrough.
I guess we’ll never know how you got that score, but I’ve certainly got one in Timber Tumble that is way far above everyone else’s. These things happen…….

@HuwG Congrats on 1st place! I shot just over 247K with 2 tiny cracked stone pieces left for 2nd place. I too was suspicious about 249K and I think you must have gotten one of those presents for an extra 3K, otherwise I do not think it’s possible. I’ve seen the same on many other AB Rio levels where it’s simply impossible to get a top score without those extra 3000 points. That’s a shame because it just adds another level of randomness only to get a power-up people will never use anyway.
@admins I know I’m getting boring here, but here is another clear example of why a “Congratulations, you just flung a top score, please check your score, and if it’s correct, post your strategy and upload a screenshot” message should be sent.
Two and a half years with the wonderful ABN site, and the “bogus” top scores are still the one bug.
I’ve posted this before, and I’ll “bug” you again ;-))))
Sorry @Hunnybunny… But we all are so very busy with real “life” and can’t be everywhere 24/7. It makes it hard for us to catch all of them, at the same time while handling our other responsibilities here in the Nest. It’s easier to address these if we are @mentioned in the walkthroughs as @stocktoad did above. Unless you can come up with a different method, then there’s really nothing else we can do. Thanks for your concern!
I appreciate your feedback @hunnybunny. One of the main reason why I’ve never implemented something like this is because it’s not easy to take screenshots on all platforms, thus this would prevent a lot of users from entering their scores. I would rather they do, and if they’re bogus, we take care of them then. It may take time to catch them, but over the years we’ve done an amazing job — especially considering there are millions of hand entered scores here on the Nest.
cc @admins
@birdleader @sweetp thanks for the feedback I really appreciate this site and the work you do
PS SweetP it was me not Stocktoad who first mentioned it ;-))))
Thanks again
Scored 256,030 using 2 Birds following video method. I had several scores in the mid-240s before getting the jackpot. I still not sure what accounted for the additional 10K of points, but from my score screenshot, it is clear I had extra debris.
I do know the black boulder did take out the two TNTs, and I used the 2nd bird to cut the rope above the log pile. Couldn’t believe my eyes when the final tally appeared.

@sweetp
Wow, I thought that last level required a zillion attempts. Just barely above average at 240K.
