The Angry Birds Seasons Ham’o’ween update (v2.0.0) is now available for iOS, Symbian, and Android via the Android Market and Amazon Appstore. Hopefully other platforms will be getting the update soon. This update — which has been teased for weeks — comes on the eve of the one year anniversary of “Trick or Treat” and features the new Orange Bird!

This update includes:
- New Orange Bird! The Orange Bird is unlocked on level 1-4. He’s a tiny little guy, about the size of the blue bird, but he’s hiding a “big” secret. You can trigger him to MASSIVELY inflate at any point in-flight or about 2-seconds after contact, after that he will auto-inflate. No he doesn’t explode, but rather he hangs out for a bit before he deflates and flies off. Awesome! He does seem to slice through wood pretty well.
- Seasons episodes are now broken down in two categories: 2011 and 2012
- 30 new levels all themed for a slightly darker Halloween
- One hidden Golden Egg and a bonus “Big Black Pumpkin” Golden Egg level
- 6 new achievements, which are currently available on iOS only
- Bright Side of the Moon achievement bug has been fix, but you may have to re-defeat levels 1-15 and/or 2-15.
- Seasons Greeding 1-16 feather threshold is lowered. Congrats to those who got their badge before the threshold was changed!
- The Golden Egg numbering has been removed completely! So I suppose our numbering is now the sacrosanct, which means we may finally be able to publicly release the Angry Birds Seasons Golden Eggs Leaderboard.
- Pro tip! The dark pumpkins act as TNT. The orange pumpkins are worth 3,000 points, as are the skulls with eyes lit.

Interesting…. You can bounce other birds off the orange balloon bird…
You can also shoot previously thrown birds in the air for more destruction. Eg. Throw big red on level 1-10, then follow with orange bird to bast big red to the right for more destruction.

3rd Time… 3rd E-mail. NO RESPONSE!
PLEASE HELP! I again updated Seasons this morning to 2.0 & 50% of my completed levels are gone. 95% of my Easter Eggs are gone. In addition there are 3 Star Easter Egg levels like St. Patrick’s, Summer Pignic, & Halloween that I have not been able to play for 6 months. Every time I update & sometimes without updating all my Easter Eggs disappear. I am on an iPhone 4S 5.0! Usually when I update it will start telling me what all the birds do again. It will reset FB & Twitter login & my levels disappear and/or are unplayable. I am a loyal Angry Birds customer. Own iPhone, iPad, & Mac versions of the game, but this is getting ridiculous. Please at least give me the courtesy of a response this time. Screen shots below! Thank You.

You’ve sent 3 emails in the past 12 hours, and it’s currently 8pm in Finland. They receive thousands of emails every day, even more on release days. You need to be patient.
On the other hand, it sounds like you have a badly corrupted settings.lua file if this happens every time. I will contact you by email to see if we can fix this.

This is EXACTLY the same issue that I have been reporting, and lo and behold I have experienced it once again. Rovio SAID that they would look at my files (I sent several iterations of them, and they said they would look to get me a complete set in one finished file), but that was two weeks ago. I know that this is just a text file and once decrypted, it should take only about 10 minutes to fix what’s needed, especially since all of the information (access to golden eggs, scores, facebook levels, etc…) are verified in the files themselves.
AMslimfordy has sent me a possible fix! I work until 9:00 pm. pacific tonight, but will try immediately tonight and report back to let you know if it fixed my issue. Thanks again AM!

Something odd just happened!! I re-played the moon festival level 2-15 for the achievement (bright side of the moon) and I used mighty eagle. Then suddenly I just got the 3-star mooncake. I have no 3 star even from the half of the levels!!!!

Since Amazon is a relatively new distributor, they take extra precautions before approving an update. It will come soon.
There is a way around this. I too have also purchased the ad-free version from Amazon. For some reason, I decided to go to the Android Market via the internet on my phone. I made sure that I was logged in then I did a search for AB. I touched the ABS app and it said “INSTALL”. So I installed it and am a happy angry birds fan again. All my scores and Easter eggs are still the same. I don’t know why the actual android app market doesn’t give the option to install. It only has “open”. I hope this helps the people who bought the ad-free version from the Amazon appstore.
don’t know if it’ll work for everone and i haven’t tried it on seasons but i originaly had the app store ad version of original and rio and then bought the ad free amazon versions and they replaced the ad versions without losing any progress. the last update to both I downloaded from the app store instead of waiting for amazon. still ad free and did not affect my progress.
I just want to say Thank You to @AMslimfordy. For always answering question non-stop no matter how repetitive it get, moderating this site and making this the #1 site for everything AB. Thanks again and keep up the good work.
Comment to add on your “pro-tip” listed. It looks like only the skull is worth the 3000, not the bones.

I just created a ABN-account and while I was entering my scores for AB Seasons, I discovered the last level of Trick or Treat was locked again. Then I thought this could be with more Episodes and I was right. Every Facebook/Twitter level “wasn’t played”. When I actually had got everything three stars. Then I closed the Episodes (no other way of explaining this) and all the levels were three-starred again. Not this kinda big deal, but I wanted to know if anybody else had this “problem”?
Also I discovered a little bug: When going to the instructions for every bird, in the end you come at the instructions for the new Orange Bird and after that, the instructions for the Mighty Eagle should appear, but instead of that, the instructions of the Orange Bird appear again. This isn’t crucial but it’s a detail.
I enjoy being a new member of ABN!
BTW, level 3-15 of Trick or Treat is now unlocked again with three-stars and a new high score (I’m now number one on the leaderboard on that level!), but I didn’t unlock the Big Pumpkin (Three-star every level on Trick or Treat). Anyone got a solution?
Also, the Big Chocolate Box is locked for no reason. (Should’ve checked everything first before writing a comment.)

Is it sad that my main drive to get an iphone is so that I can play Angry Birds right when they come out. Amazon is killing me here.

I had the amazon version also (no ads ftw), but I installed the market version again because I didn’t want to wait. Now a good question is if we can go back to the amazon version when it finally comes out…
I think I will just wait till Rovio adds the Bad Piggy Bank in the Seasons and then I will remove ads that way and be done with the Amazon Appstore’s delays once and for all!
I love how everyone is so pleased with the new bird. I find him to be the most useless one to date, however i am pleased with the new chapter since my fav month is october
He grows on you. I think he’s pretty cool once you get the hang of it. Still much better than the White Bird.
Can someone explain me why this is in the 2012 section isnt it still 2011?
ABS 2011 is Trick or Treat through Mooncake Festival (Oct. 2010 – Sept. 2011).
ABS 2012 is Ham’o’ween through [something] (Oct. 2011 – Sept. 2012 probably). I think that’s ok.

I’m wondering if this could possibly be used in someway. I’ve noticed that if you shoot him into places he’s won’t fit when he inflates, he’ll shoot out with great force.

Jeez, I’ve been away for a while and so much has happened in the AB World! The new Seasons episode is incredible, and the globe bird is just…wow. It tok my breath away! Just one thing about the Bright Side of the Moon achievement. Earlier today I replayed Moon Festival 2-15 so I could get the achievement, and the 3 star level was unlocked for me. I don’t even have three stars on all levels yet. Other than that, the update is looking good.
Yeah, it’s a small glitch, but at least it’s in the player’s favor. :)
I got the Angry Birds email this morning letting me know about the impending release and it said that there were 45 levels. Downloaded the game and there is only 30. Did the newsletter have a typo ?
Yeah, that was grabbed from their YouTube page. We Asked if it was a typo and they said yes and corrected it online. Unfortunately, you can’t retrack print.
Bunny Hunter achievement popped and Bright Side of the Moon achievement popped when I replayed 2-15. However, the only score I now show is the score from 2-15 – all 0’s and no stars for all other levels – even though my ScoreCenter scores show Top 5% on all Episodes (excepting Ham’o’ween).
I’ve restarted my iPhone (3GS and iOS 5) to no avail.
GameCenter is run independently of any of your data files. Once you earn an achievement or post a score on GameCenter, it cannot be lessened.
If you had new achievements register, then it sounds like your settings file is OK. However, you say that no levels have scores?
All scores were lost – even though all levels were unlocked. I used iExplorer to save the Documents folder with the .lua files, restored my iPhone backup from the 17th (lost some AB Rio highscores), re-saved the Documents folder for AB Seasons with iExplorer and then re-updated the App.
Second time around, high-scores and stars were intact. I used iExplorer to make another copy…
The only difference was that the first AB Seasons update was an over the air app update and the second was via iTunes.
So is everything OK now?
For future reference, the only data files that need to be saved/transferred are highscores.lua, settings.lua, and the “dates” for Seasons. You don’t need to do the whole Doc folder.
Everything seems to be ok. The Doc folder only had .lua files – the highscores, settings and then ones associated with the dates.
I will be backing up the files prior to any upgrade in the future!
Did anyone else notice that the skeletons are holding some structure up and making it difficult to get them to fall? It is very obvious in level 1-13 if you throw the orange bird between the first and second structures and let him go all the way down before you inflate him.

When are the Mighty Eagle videos going up for Ham’O’Ween ?? There are a couple I just can’t seem to get :(
I think the way it works is that you make requests (here: https://www.angrybirdsnest.com/forum/discussion/380/angry-birds-seasons-mighty-eagle-requests ) and then a video comes out. Otherwise it is too much to have a video for eeevery level, even those that are very easy to get a feather. ;-)

Nah, achievements in AB’s is something I don’t have 100%, as I go for 3 stars rather then score…So I am missing quite a few. For instance in AB I have 54/59, ABS I have 47/54 and Rio I have 45/54
So there’s a lot still for you! ;-)
Since I don’t have achievements or feathers yet, due to Android, I’m trying to score in each level above the average (as it is monitored in ABN’s leaderboards). Or get an overall score that is larger than the one required for Score Addict. etc.
There is always a lot to do if you are a fan!
Has anyone had problems downloading and installing the newest update for Angry Birds Seasons from the Android Market? I’ve tried several times to download the update, but for some reason, it won’t install the update on my phone. I’m just curious if anyone else has run across this problem and found a solution? I sent an e-mail to customer service at Rovio, and I’m waiting to hear back from them.
Do you get some kind of error or does it not even get downloaded? Because on my HTC Desire I didn’t face any problems. Here is the error message I receive each it tries to install the update on my phone: “Couldn’t install on USB storage or SD card”. Any suggestions? This is the first time I’ve had a problem with any Angry Birds updates.

I think this is too soon (not that I wouldn’t like it :P). But I guess they would want to try other seasons (e.g. non US) and I’d really like to know which. It should be around two months from now. Hannukah maybe????
