The Angry Birds Seasons Ham’o’ween update (v2.0.0) is now available for iOS, Symbian, and Android via the Android Market and Amazon Appstore. Hopefully other platforms will be getting the update soon. This update — which has been teased for weeks — comes on the eve of the one year anniversary of “Trick or Treat” and features the new Orange Bird!

This update includes:
- New Orange Bird! The Orange Bird is unlocked on level 1-4. He’s a tiny little guy, about the size of the blue bird, but he’s hiding a “big” secret. You can trigger him to MASSIVELY inflate at any point in-flight or about 2-seconds after contact, after that he will auto-inflate. No he doesn’t explode, but rather he hangs out for a bit before he deflates and flies off. Awesome! He does seem to slice through wood pretty well.
- Seasons episodes are now broken down in two categories: 2011 and 2012
- 30 new levels all themed for a slightly darker Halloween
- One hidden Golden Egg and a bonus “Big Black Pumpkin” Golden Egg level
- 6 new achievements, which are currently available on iOS only
- Bright Side of the Moon achievement bug has been fix, but you may have to re-defeat levels 1-15 and/or 2-15.
- Seasons Greeding 1-16 feather threshold is lowered. Congrats to those who got their badge before the threshold was changed!
- The Golden Egg numbering has been removed completely! So I suppose our numbering is now the sacrosanct, which means we may finally be able to publicly release the Angry Birds Seasons Golden Eggs Leaderboard.
- Pro tip! The dark pumpkins act as TNT. The orange pumpkins are worth 3,000 points, as are the skulls with eyes lit.

well seems like Angry Birds Original (V1.5.3) to (V1.6.0) took 3 months. This also means that Angry Birds Original (V1.6.3) to (V1.7.0) will also take 3 months. Hang in there everyone only 1 month left. I predict it will be released either November 24 or November 25.
When will this episode be released for Symbian? :(
Hopefully soon. Symbian usually takes a little longer to both develop and gain approval from Nokia.

The orange bird is unlock in level 1-4.
You pretty much use it in most of the levels after that so you get plenty of fun with it! Im just curious to see if the bird will appear in the other versions of Angry Birds.

What version of Season Free do you have, and what platform is this?
Im having the same problem as the people above: my 2011 seasons locked up. Only the first levels are available with my previous score. The rest have the padlock symbol. How do I unlock them without having to go through each one again? I’m running the most recent version of all angry birds app (yes, I’m addicted, but proudly so).

All levels are locked and have no Mighty Eagle available. Says I need to re-purchase Mighty Eagle. Have I lost all eagles feathers??

If you “re-purchase” the Mighty Eagle using the same Apple ID, you will receive a notice at the end that you have already purchased and can download for free.

I have an Iphone 3G. I downloaded Ham-o-ween on Seasons, and it worked fine for a while. Now it won’t open at all; goes to a black screen briefly and then goes back to my app menu. Did some kind of update come out after Ham-o-ween? I know I downloaded one without looking at it too carefully, but thought it was for Rio. Really don’t want to have to delete Seasons and start all over.
No update for Seasons since Ham’o’ween. Have you tried simply restarting your device? This will usually clear some RAM and allow your device to run more smoothly.

I am enjoying this game as the others but still unable to score three stars in just two levels. Secondly confused with the scoring entries as I have entered but the three stars don’t show at all.in all my games.

Absolutely not. We can’t even guarantee a Christmas theme. Rovio has been super hush-hush about Seasons for the past few months.

Yes there will certainly be more updates for Seasons. (Otherwise the “2012” taxonomy creation would be rather silly.)
I’m not sure what the next Season will be, but I think a Chinese New Year would be cool — though that isn’t until mid-January. Perhaps an episode before that. Maybe another Advent calendar. Maybe a 12-days concept. Maybe a US Thanksgiving theme, though I’m not so convinced on that one.

Hi all, I am new to the forum but have been a fanatic with Angry Birds since from beginning.
Anyways, I have problem, I cannot find Ham’o’ween update for Symbian anywhere, neither as an on-game update, nor from the OVI store. The strange thing is, that once, maybe Thursday last week, I saw it on ovi store, but when i clicked it, it said something like “sorry the item cannot be found, it may have been removed form ovi store”. After that, no sight of it.
What am I doing wrong – I got the mooncake festival, an all other things before that OK?

Thanks, great! Now I have got it – I have never done an update this way, though. (Going to the store on PC, having an sms and a link in it sent to my mobile, using the link there to update.) I have used both the in game update, and the Nokia/Ovi store accessed from my mobile. Neither of those still minutes ago found updates for Seasons, but never mind, problem solved. Sadly the update did not reset the stars on old levels… :)
I have not tried to get into the 2011 Seasons games because of the comments in this thread. Do I assume this issue has not been resolved by Rovio? Is there a way I can avoid the locking and loss of data? Thanks in advance (I’m running a very VERY old OS and an iPhone 3).
The issue is not widespread, but you can manually backup your data using this method.
Just verifying, since I have an old OS, and iExplorer, should I be able to save my file(s) and restore it/them without the extra steps that I’ll have to do when I upgrade in a month or so?

Not sure what you mean by “extra steps”, but yes, our process should work will all gen iOS devices and all iOS versions…
Finally this update is available for symbian from the Nokia Store…and only half a month after halloween!
It’s still not available from the in game update though. As normal, I recommend you wait till it is…you’ll lose all your progress if you do the ovi store update.

Yeah, after losing all stars updating to 1.6.0 on the original version, I wont try updating through the store anymore.. hopefully it will be available ingame soon.

I am not sure what you mean, but for me personally losing all 3 stars and everything would not hurt – in fact I would like the game to include a reset button! That way I could get much more life and fun from the game, while waiting for updates… I do have 3 star plus all possible goodies in seasons, rio and original. Once on update the game (original) accidentally reseted, and I was not upset at all. Well, that is a matter of opinion and I guess there must be a trick somewhere how to reset – reinstalling or something.
When you delete and reinstall the app all your stars will be gone ;). I didnt like it at all to play all over again (original), losing my highscores.
A note on the Ham’o’ween for Symbian – I’ve -impatient as I am- tried to update, first backing up my files. Ingame still not available, but strangely it wont update through the ovi store either. When I go to the seasons app page in ovi store, it says ‘start the app’ instead of update. When I go to ‘rate app’ it says ‘you are rating version 1.6.0. of the game’, while on the app page it clearly states 2.0.0 is available. I might try the ‘sms link’ later. Dont have time for it now.
Nooooooooooo!!!! I have symbian device (nokia N8), and when I finally got the update with Ham’O’Ween all the stars from all the themes, gone. I had every single star and golden egg and everything one could have… and after this update, ALL GONE!!! Please please please can you help me get my stars and eggs and scores back??? :( I fell devastated.
Unless you had recently backed up your device, there is nothing that can be done.
I had backed up my device 01.11.2011 but when i tried to restore, nothing happened, the angry birds seasons stayed the same :( all the stars gone :( and with Ham’O’Ween (and I’m sure I didn’t have Ham’O’Ween when I last backed up my device).
Hello AMslimfordy. As I explaned, the update to Ham’O’Ween cleaned all my current progress in AB seasons… And now I think I’ve found the reason. After being devastated, and getting the next post how to “back up” ones AB progress to ones computer, I imidiately wanted to ensure this would never happen to me again and hooked my phone to my computer to take the “back up”s…
So I was looking for the AB season folder in the private folder… and this is what astonishes me!! I found not one, but two AB season folder, one on my phone memory (where all other AB folders are too), and one lonely AB seasons folder in my external memorycard private folder… So is it possible that I now have AB seasons twice in my phone, and what should I do to try to fix this?? I hope all my previous progress is still saved possibly in the AB season folder in my phone memory… what can I do? Please help me…
I’m not sure how much I can help, but if it were me, here is what I would do.
Create 2 folders on your desktop: Seasons 1 and 2. Copy each of your data to one of these, so both are backed up. Then delete one of the folders from your device, taking note of whether you delete #1 or 2. If it “fixes” your issue, then you are done. Otherwise, copy the data from your desktop of the file that was deleted and give it a try.

For symbian user: Before updating any version of angry birds and may be loosing all your highscores, you should better save your highscore files. To do that, connect your mobile phone with the PC, switch to mass storage mode, search for file called /private/ and then search following files:
File ‘20030E54’ for Angry Birds Classic free
File ‘20030E51’ for Angry Birds Classic
File ‘20030E52’ for Angry Birds Seasons
File ‘2003B21F’ for Angry Birds Rio
File ‘2003B219’ for Angry Birds Magic free
Open each file and save highscore.lua and settings.lua for every single version on your PC
In case after updating and loosing all your progress, you can simply copy the corresponding file back to your mobile phone and all original highscores are back again ;)

I have edited your post slightly. Teaching people how to backup their files is fine, but we aren’t going to discuss tweaking data. That’s a very slippery slope that would taint our leaderboards.
Ok, I understand. But I hope, that for all Angry Birds player there is something like a code of honor, because wherever they indicate their highscores in the internet they could use wrong highscores to be better than others.

After I got the Ham-oween 2012 update, it locked all my other Seasons 2011 games. My total score shows, but all episodes show level 1 with 3 stars, but all other levels are locked. I have v2.0.0 on an iPod Touch. Can you help? Thanks!
Perhaps updating to v2.1.0 will help, but otherwise you will need to provide me with some more details. Had you transferred data?
