We were the first to announce that a new Angry Birds Seasons update was on the horizon. Well, the morning mist has lifted and on the horizon we see a strange new substance? Water!!! We are happy to report that the latest Angry Birds Seasons update, named Piglantis (v2.4.0) is now available for iOS, PC, Mac, Playbook, and Android via Google Play (Android Market) and the Amazon Appstore! As you might expect, things are a bit different in this aquatic paradise. We’ve outlined what we know so far below:
Update for iOS: A bug fix has been released as v2.4.1.
- 30, yes 30, new aquatic levels! If we are looking for an actual “Seasons” theme, I would have to say it’s Summer again. Contrary to some guesses, all 30 levels are available right now (in other words, it’s not Advent-style). Our walkthrough videos are live.
- Golden Eggs! One Golden Egg hidden in-game, and the 3-star bonus this time around is a Big Seashell! If you need help, check out our Complete Angry Birds Seasons Golden Eggs Guide.
- Buoyancy! In the wide-open sea, you can now shoot in and out of water! The birds are buoyant enough that they will be pulled back to the surface of the water, as are wooden blocks and sardine cans. However, those bad piggies, stone blocks, and even ice/glass blocks are a bit too heavy and sink to the ocean floor. The poor piggies go pop when they hit the floor.
- No new achievements for iOS. This is expected, since there is really no space for Seasons achievements points.
- Pro Tip! Treasure chests are worth 1,000 points, but they are quite challenging to break.
- Amazing Alex, which we have more info on here, has made it’s way into Angry Birds. If you tap the icon it will take you to the Amazing Alex Facebook page.

All birds can be activated while they are in the water
True – but a lot of the gameplay takes place out of the water in a traditional AB manner….
Except for the Boomerang. He kind of like drowns if you activate his power underwater.

Level 1-8 – three stars at 105K
Level 1-10 – three stars at 102K
Level 2-1 three stars at 139k
Level 2-3 two stars at 87K
Level 2-4 three stars at 113k
Level 2-8 two stars at 95K
Level 2-12 2 stars = 103K
Boss fight on 2-15 is a little difficult. This one has a traditional AB feel.
Level 2-14 105k gives 3 stars.
Level 1-2 can be one birded – score over 130K

I just wanted to say kudos to the entire ABN team. It never ceases to amaze me that when there is AB news, it is inevitable that it’s here first. In addition, the team should b congratulated for always taking care to not post rumor/conjecture and call it factual. The combination of speed and quality is rare–the news media could take some lessons from you guys!

Looks like it, but they’re very challenging to destroy. You need to drop stone on them, I think.
More than one, as stones become very weak in water. You may use an egg bomb, or whatever.
In some levels, you can inflate Orange Bird near one to destroy it.
I was able to destroy one with a red bird.

I think these levels are genius. I’m surprised they didn’t use it for a entirely new game. My question is how does piglantis fit into seasons, what is it honoring? Or Seasons gonna just be themes now?
Well.. it is a water based theme. People tend to spend more time in the water during summer, than any other season.
I turned on my iPad to find 74 updates available… (up from 73 in the morning) So I checked to see what it is, and of course, Angry Birds. :)
LOL @peatree2! Someone doesn’t update apps very often. I’m probably a bit OCD, but I check for, and download, updates almost every day.
@doctonynyc I don’t download bug fixes… they tend to introduce bugs rather than fix them…

I like the levels very much. I was surprised that they did not change the lay-out of the game.

Me too. Only the letters and numbers are a bit smaller now. Apart from that, I did not notice any change.
