While Angry Birds Space does not receive the most frequent updates, we have little to complain about today. We teased this update last week and now Mirror Worlds & Brass Hogs (v2.1.0) has landed! The update is currently available for iOS, Steam, and Android via Google Play.
Intergalactic super-villain Hektor Porko is hiding out in another dimension – The Mirror World. Take out his steampunk cronies in an all-new episode, Brass Hogs, to dive into the Mirror World and go face to mustachioed face with Hektor himself!
This update includes (a TON of stuff):
- 30 new levels in the Brass Hogs episode! Our walkthroughs are available when you need them.
- Mirror World! Every single level (except Eggsteroids and Danger Zone) now has a mirror! Each of these 260 levels is unlocked by 3-starring its “normal” equivalent. For example, if you’ve 3-starred Pig Bang Level 1-1, then Level M1-1 will be unlocked in the Mirror World! Or, if you don’t want to 3-star all of the levels, you can unlock all Mirror World levels as an $5.99 in-app purchase. Simply click the shopping cart to check our all IAPs! Before you can play the Mirror Worlds you need to unlock them by beating level 9-2. Check out the video above for more details.
- Leaderboard Situation: We will be discussing whether to create leaderboard entries for the Mirror levels. We will keep you posted.
- Daily Missions! Each day there are 3 new missions, completing which will help you unlock more and more levels in Brass Hogs! For example, 5 completed missions are required to unlock Level 9-4… which is why you’ll see “x/5” over its level icon.
- No new Sardine Can levels, though our walkthroughs are available for past episodes if you need them
- New Golden Eggsteroids? We don’t think there are any in this update… But be sure to keep an eye out and check out our Complete Eggsteroids Guide.
- Two new iOS achievements!
- Wingman added to the cast of Power Ups. His ability is rather different than is “original Angry Birds” equivalent, but equally destructive!

Special Mini Froot Loop Bloopers Episode
In addition to all the new content above, this update includes a special mini Froot Loop Bloopers episode that features five Froot Loop themed levels. To access this episode tap the Froot Loops Bloopers icon above the Brass Hogs planet. In these levels the Space Eagle has been replaced by Toucan Sam, or, the Toucan Sam Highscore.

I’m having trouble with the Daily Missions screen for day 2. It worked day 1 but now won’t let me do anything. The three missions are displayed but aren’t selectable. I can’t clear them or otherwise leave the screen, the screen is effectively locked up. The rest of the game appears to be working fine. I’ve rebooted my iPhone 5S and the problem remains. Is anyone else having this problem?
@dmsral – yes, I have the same problem on iPhone 4S. The solution I found is to switch to mirror mode, then it worked! But this is definitely a bug. I will see tomorrow if everything works fine on iPad or this problem exists there as well.

Same for me (iPhone 3). Just read the content of the mission, reset if necessary, and go to the requested level. Good luck for M2-3, which took me quite a while to 3-star.
Thanks @annach, that worked, for two of the missions anyway. Third mission (pop 10 popcorns) doesn’t seem to be active. I can cancel it and wait 30 minutes for another mission to be assigned though.
@dmsral Because there is no “level” associated to that mission. Just go to any level with Popcorn and start popping! If you go back to the mission after popping a few, you should see the counter increment.

Glad I wasn’t the only one this morning @dmsral. I’m on iPhone 6 and had exactly the same issues. In fact I’m positive I completed a mission only to go back to the board to discover it had been changed to a completely new mission (no I hadn’t requested a new one) Complete waste of time. Also completed another mission to beat my previous score on a level (which I did) only to go back and find the same mission request,as if it wouldn’t register my new score! Very,very frustrating. I ended up cancelling that one and waited for another. Let’s see what tomorrow brings. Glad I came in here to moan or I wouldn’t have seen all the chat about the fruit loops. I’m in UK and don’t have it either. To be honest,thank goodness! While I’m on a moan roll…..really dislike the mirror levels so don’t think I’ll be bothering with them. They are hateful on an iPhone. The washed out,depressing colour makes it 10 times harder to aim. Nope,life’s too short for that lot.

Maybe when we kill the boss on the last brass hog level, the mirror level recover their original colors? At least, I hope so, for the same reason as you (iPhone screen is just too small).
Oh @sglouk! You’re using an iPhone 3?! Huuuuge kudos for sticking with AB’s! The 3 killed my eyesight and to be honest the 4s wasn’t much better. The 6 is good but still not good enough for pinpoint accuracy. Guess it just makes us try harder eh? ;) As for Mirror changing to colour? Hmmmm I can’t see it happening but hey…you never know! Only then would I give it a shot. I just need colour in my life.

I occasionally switch to PC for large levels that are hardly playable on a small screen. Unfortunately, I won’t be possible anymore with mirror worlds since the PC is discontinued. It’s too bad because some of these mirror levels are really nice.
You have to be careful about restarting if your Mission screen freezes. I had that problem this morning but I read what the missions were, hard-closed the app & after restarting, I went directly to M3-9 as one mission was to 3-star it. Took me a while to finally get my 3 stars, but when I opened the Daily Mission screen the missions had changed. That one was gone, replaced by something completely different. The other 2 missions were the same.
On the bright side the screen was no longer frozen.
@karen68 I had exactly the same issues yet again this morning,just as you described. Screen froze at every opportunity. It took at least 3 restarts to finally begin a mission which was to explode 20 crystal planets which I did but when I returned to mission screen it froze once more and I lost the progress. Started the new one that had appeared which was to 3* a level which I did but on returning to mission screen…yep you guessed it…it was frozen *sigh* Finally I just did another hard reset,left it alone for an hour and started over. Only managed to open level 6 today but after that ridiculous song and dance it was enough for today! Never thought trying to play 1 level would be so exhausting ;(
Has anyone noticed that AB Space now has the Everyplay recording feature, the one that’s present in Bad Piggies? I’m playing the new update on my Galaxy S4 and every time I complete a level, a ‘Share your gameplay!’ button appears, I click it and I get to share that completion via Facebook, Twitter etc.

Anyway, I wanted to be sure to say that yes, I have the same issue. Not even the Rovio title screen comes up, it instantly fails.
Is your tablet by chance one that uses an Intel chipset? Mine does (ASUS Memopad 7), and Space stopped working with this last update while Epic stopped working a couple updates ago (since mid-December). Both games worked absolutely fine before that, and both issues have been reported to Rovio as support requests (but I haven’t heard anything back yet…).

Yes, It uses Intel atom Z2520..
Also, Angry Birds Epic is not compatible for my phone.. When I try to run Epic.. It says there’s a new update.. But when I try to update it, it can’t..
ALSO, Before the latest Angry Birds Epic update.. The information says that Android kit-kat is under development or something like that..

Epic stopped showing as an update on my tablet, and even when I searched the Google Play store, it said it was no longer compatible. Amazon Store had Epic and it installed, but crashed right at the “Chimera” splash screen.
I am thinking that newer functionality required beefier code (the Arena in Epic and the daily challenges in Space), and whatever new underpinnings they are using don’t work with the Intel guts.
Which is odd, since Transformers and the recent Stella update run fine on my Intel-based tablet. Go! crashes more, but it runs OK as well, and I would think that is one of the more intensive games they make (in terms of visuals…)

I actually downloaded Transformers from the Amazon App store and it ran fine — I don’t think it ever crashed once for me. I did uninstall it simply because I found the game to be insanely dull and repetitious. It was just a clock grinder.
Go! does have the annoying aspect of it that after I am done with the Daily Challenge the screen goes dark (not sure if the music is playing — I have the sound turned off in all my AB games, but I should check!).

That includes semi-recent updates to Seasons, Rio, SW2, and Stella. I have an old Tablet. But it runs fine.. Just laggy and long loading.. Its Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000..
That tablet is okay. But when I try to play Bad Piggies, It sometimes freezes and I have to hard restart it..

I have a big problem now with daily missions, when i try to clear them (with x red button) the app crashe.
When i try to complete those missions nothing happen. I sent a mail to rovio but no reply for the moment. Hope a 2.1.2 version to fix that

@mikroll79 If a mission does not have a specific level tied to it, the app can freeze when you click on the “advance arrow” underneath it. Instead, just close the listing on missions and proceed with its requirement.
For example, I got “Mutate 10 Pigs” as a mission. Trying to advance from that screen freezes the app. But closing the list and playing levels normally is fine.

@mikroll79 I have a similar situation. Cannot get a new mission because clearing one crashes the app. The app crashes as well when I complete a mission. However I open app again I have gained one point more. Now if I only had the stamina to 3 star the same level yet another 240 times I would have all the levels playable ;-P
Actually it´s even worse, every completion of any level force closes the app and gives an additional point in brass hogs. Now then, should I open all of brass hogs or boot my tab to hopefully be able to play properly again?

As I commented much earlier, yes @mikroll79. To be presice I played 2 lvls and 2 missions with 2.1.0. I did figure out that the current state of affairs is due to that. What I don´t know is if booting my device will do good or bad or anything at all. Or maybe I´m deeper in trouble than I have realized?
@micromax. I don’t known the result of booting your device. But me now, i can’t play the new level of brass hogs…..it ‘s very sad :(
Sad indeed @mikroll79, I feel for you. I guess you have tried booting your device. There are more drastic measures but before them you should make a backup.

I only have a few complaints about this update. Firstly, I think the Fruit Loops Bloopers might have been better off as a standalone online minigame (like they’ve done with Pistachios, Tazos, or Cheetos).
And I think the “missions” idea is a good one, but I can see how it can get tedious after a little while. I’d rather just play through them normally.
Other than that, though, I am loving this update.
I didn’t see this update until last night, so I’m trying to play catch-up.
It’s too bad the Fruit Loops Bloopers is unavailable to so many of our members, because I think the graphics are beautiful; on my iPad Retina they are absolutely stunning.
Is anyone else wondering if this massive update could be the end to Space as we know it? It’s one massive update!
While no problems on my iPad, I am experiencing issues on my Android phone. The play is slow to respond & choppy. I’ve restarted the phone & turned off data & wifi & it seems to be working a little more smoothly. I thought about just toggling back & forth to Airplane mode if I’m playing, but then my texts won’t come thru (when I’m at home there’s little cell signal/service & we rely on landline, so Airplane mode is only an issue for text.)
If anyone else is experiencing these issues with gameplay & you haven’t restarted your device, give it a shot … it can’t hurt. The data & wifi off has also eliminated the ads popping up in the middle, literally the middle of gameplay, which in my case was ruining the shot.
I’ve completed all missions every day since Day One, but somehow I don’t have as many levels available to me as others seems to. What’s up with that?
Missions are random, generated according to your progress, and yield different points each session. My first two missions gave me 3 points each, today 17!
Well, that’s disappointing. I’m only up to level 6 and I see how other folks have 7 & 8.
Don´t take it too hard @magsy79, most people are probably behind you. As to me, I have a very unique situation as you can see a few comments earlier.

Honestly I am really really disappointed, the mirror world is so hopelessly broken it might as well not exist. It is so choppy that proper aiming is near impossible as it will shoot the bird elsewhere then where the line was when I let go of the bird. Plus even worse the birds wont activate their powers so it is essentially like every bird is a red bird Bleh.
Give it time. This was a major update, with a lot of new twists on gameplay. Gameplay issues are almost a given, and I’m sure these will be dealt with quickly. However, the choppy part, I don’t know what device you’re using, but whenever AB gets choppy on me, (which also affects bird power activation) I close apps and/or restart my device. That usually takes care of that problem.
@kramer, I heartedly agree, this update should never have released. Rovio is treating us like beta testers, not customers.
At least its not just me that noticed the birds all just fly without any powers…..makes many of the levels unplayable
Tip: You could completely ignore the 16 hour (or 30 minute) timer and complete the “daily” missions however fast you want by messing with the iPhone time. You don’t even have to fully close the Angry Birds app and relaunch it each time.

I have the same problem. Do you have an Android device? That was my conclusion after investigating.
I reported it to Rovio and the reply said they were dealing with a large volume of ticket requests at the moment.
Same for me. I had found this was a problem in one or two Space levels in the past, but since the Mirror Worlds update, it’s hopeless. Every now and then, it’s possible to activate a bird, but this happens at random and only about 10% of the time. I’m assuming it’s something to do with the fact that I’m using a small-screen phone on an old version of Android (Gingerbread.)
I’ve been given a broken large-screen modern Android phone, which I’m going to repair. I suspect I’ll be using that to play Space from now on.

Seems very buggy. I complete complete mission to beat high score.. Then app freezes, I have to close and restart and I am asked to complete high score mission again, but I have to now beat my newest high score.. Not the old one. So it goes higher and higher .. Eventually I won’t be able to beat it anymore .
Seems like best to give this update a week for them to clean it up.
@admins – I have a few questions please…
Despite my not wanting to play all of the mirror world episodes/levels, an experimentation today has revealed to me that you don’t have to play all of the previous given levels in an episode in order to complete a mirror world level mission; hitting the green arrow under said mission takes you straight to said level.
As such, I’m wondering how this will fair on the leaderboards because random score entries are not usually seen as being favourable on the leaderboards, and often they lead to many questions, and/or scores being removed.
So my questions:
Are random scores acceptable or not on the ABsp mirror leaderboards in view of these new daily mirror level missions please?
And if they are, what rules are likely to apply please?

I’m having problems with this update all round. I changed from PC to Android when PC users were unceremoniously dumped and start from scratch and none of the levels, nevermind about the update stuff works. Screen freezes and having to restart over and over is ridiculous. I had the same issues when Space was first released…then they fixed it but now it’s a waste of time even trying to play any of the levels. This must be the worst bug infested game Rovio have ever put out.

I think the mid-December release of Angry Birds Epic might give your claim a run for its money. *smile* So buggy that they had to simply end an Event mid-stream that came along with the update, and Arena play (a new feature) gave a lot of folks fits. Not to mention that Epic and Space now don’t even start on Intel-based Android devices (and they confirmed that this was an issue on an Epic support request I put in and received feedback for).
I do think there is hope for Space though, and plenty of it, as I got this response from Rovio in regards to Space issues in general:

As another poster put it, it sort of stinks to treat end-customers as beta testers, but it is what it is. I imagine the next update of Space will have a lot of issues ironed out, and am crossing my fingers that the Intel-chipset compatibility is one of them.

Thanks for the response sutekh. In the meantime, I have plenty to keep me occupied playing every level of every game from the beginning for what is now the third time LOL. I had just finished them all for the second time when we got dumped, so patience is a virtue I guess.

I would never replay an entire AB game, at least not the ones with hundreds of “standard” levels (AB, Space, SW, SW2, Rio, etc.) There are much better ways to spend my time out there in free-game land. So, I won’t switch to a new platform and start over. That’s something I hope Rovio understands. Every game they switch away from my current tablet is a game that they won’t get my eyeballs on ads any more.
The only reason I started Epic on my iPhone is because everything transferred over from the cloud account. Same thing for Go! and the original AB. To be honest, if Rovio wants to make updates to games, they should start by making them all have cloud-based saves (and if they don’t have the servers for that, make the saves Dropbox-compatible, or somesuch). That way, if they do exclude an entire hardware platform in the future, at least the option would be there to switch to something else and keep playing.
The only game I started over (because for whatever reason my backups wouldn’t restore the data to my new tablet) was Bad Piggies. And that WAS fun, because that game rocks and isn’t just about throwing birds at piles of stuff (which I love, but you have to admit is repetitive and not always very original). Sadly, Bad Piggies game hasn’t had an update in so long that I am pretty sure it’s done.

i cant beleive this..i have been working on 3 starring every a b game(except go and transformers obv) and after 3 starring all origanal a b …..a b seasons ….sw 1 and 2 rio 1 and 2 …..everything but space…i then start playing it,and i no doubt know this is the most challenging one of all a b games…was working fine..got to utopia,game updated…now its slow,sluggish..aiming aint right….and i can imagine how difficult the mirror worlds are gonna be coz even the normal ones are difficult….my rant is rovio..the game was working fine..it updates…now it lags and aiming isnt right….then after about 5 goes and 5 ads it freezes and says unfortanetly a b has stopped…reset..restart..power off and on still the same…the ads are half missing….how can rovio release an update this big with so many bugs….dont they check it…so the normal a b space i was playing and enjoying b4 update has now become practically unplayable and im annoyed as this is the only that i hv left to 3star..i wonder if the pc version has any probs..also…my dad had a b s w on windows and he had tatoonie deathstar and hoth….and it was a paid for game which never updated….i thought there wud have been an updating a b space fixing the bugs by now……maybe a soft launch of udate was the right move here rovio…a lot of dissapointed fans….i cant rant no more so does anyone know if the pc version has these probs and if bought from xbox store will it have mirror world and daily missions ect…… :(

Can I make a request? Can all the leaderboards for Mirror levels be opened up for comments?
I know there are about 300 levels that walk throughs need to be done for. And I am by no means asking for those to be done. I know it takes time. I think it may help those of us who are playing the different episodes. We could post our strats. We could also help with the 3 star thresholds.
I understand if you don’t want to do this as I know in the past, once people see the levels open for comment, some may be wondering where the walk through is.
Just a thought.

@amslimfordy, yes, there. I am assuming that would also open them up on my individual leader board. Every once and awhile, I get a level for my challenge of the day where it would be nice to be able to post a comment asking for help if someone already has 3 starred or completed the level. I have noticed that all levels are open for entering scores. And Pig Bang Mirror has comments available.
My head is spinning with all the new levels, I can only imagine what you admins are going through.
Great job getting the leader boards up and open! I know this was a MASSIVE update and if I am jumping the gun, I apologize.

I noticed that “squawk pu scores are not permitted” notice still appears on the standard boards, but it’s not showing on my mirror world episode leaderboards, so does this mean that both pu and non-pu scores are allowed on the MW boards please?

It’s like the developers took the idea of The Big Setup and went crazy with it for Mirror Worlds. Love it.
I came here to find walkthroughs for mirror worlds(some levels are 1,000 times harder than orig)and I urge haste in making them.I expect guides for all new levels to come out in a month,and i am afraid that is the deadline.

There’s a bug that allows you to play Brass Hogs whithout completing missions. If you didn’t did it already, beat the last level that you’ve unlocked, then restart it and shoot all your birds away. Wait until the “Level Failed” message appears, then tap the forward button to proceed to the next level. From this point you can proceed to further levels by simply beating the current, the forward button will be there. If you go back to the level selection screen you won’t be able to select the locked levels even though you’ll see the stars under the planet icon, but you can use the bug again to go forward from the last unlocked level.

This is the only way i found to play brass hogs levels. But as you say, when you go back to level selection screen, they’re still locked….:(((

And it looks like it don’t work for the Mirror World version of the episode, even if you 3 star the normal version the Mirror World version is still locked.
What I found recently is that if you beat but not 3 star a locked level a mission may appear to 3 star it but the arrow button under the mission won’t work, you have to use the bug to play the level. The mission will count if you 3 star it once you get there.

@grimmjow – for reasons accounted above I have now 500 points and the reward is again at 5 points more. I suspect any reward beyond 360 points is nonexistent until next major update, should that ever happen.

@grimmjow that is exactly my thought as well, it’s just to accumulate more Space Eagles. But maybe @micromax is right and the next update will tie in with the missions and the points gathered. Who knows!
Space 2.1.2 still crashes immediately on my Intel-based tablet (ASUS Memopad 7).
The recent Epic update DOES now run on my tablet, and the Bad Piggies update still runs. So, I am hoping they can figure out what is wrong with Space…eventually. Will submit another support request to Rovio to let them know.
If anyone else gets Space to run on an Intel-based tablet, please post!
