Android users, please exercise extreme caution! According to both Rovio and SOPHOS, a Trojan Horse virus has been released on unofficial Android app stores. The Trojan has been disguised in Angry Birds Space, the newest installment in the Angry Birds franchise. According to SOPHOS, this virus will gain root access and push further malware onto the affected device, essentially rendering it under the control of evil malware producers.
Let us emphasize two things. Foremost, the official versions from the Android Market (Google Play) and the Amazon Appstore are 100% clean. Also, this is a good example of why all users — Android and otherwise — should be very careful when downloading any apps onto their devices, especially when using unofficial app stores. Just because the logo and publisher match, that doesn’t mean that the app is legit. Pay attention to the little things, such as app details, descriptions, and user reviews. Or, when all else fails, use the direct links that Rovio provides on their site. So long as there are people who get a thrill out of infecting computers and smartphones of strangers, smart users should be on-guard against them.
Happy (and safe) gaming to all!
Angry Birds Facebook has moved the Easter Eggs to the Golden Eggs episode selection.

Slim & the gang
Uh Oh, Slim has a gang now! ;)
By the way, Site looks great!
I have an angry birds space update on my iphone.
Update is 10 new levels, 20 free space eagles and 1 free space eagle each day,
just wanted to know if it was true or fake ? cause of the virus
It’s true, everyone’s talking about it now! :)
@AMslimfordy
Has there been any information concerning iPhones and iPads relating to viruses and/or fake versions of the AB games from the Apple Apps Center?
There are plenty of immitators, but there is no app in the Apple AppStore that is a COPY of an Angry Birds app. Since the AppStore is an official store, it is very highly policed and there is no “Angry Birds virus” existing there to anyone’s knowledge.
Let me also point out that there is no virus on OFFICIAL Android stores either (be it Amazon or Google Play), because these too are highly policed. Instead, it is unofficial Android stores that are the culprits. In a similar way, there could be such virus copies on unofficial Apple stores, but I haven’t heard of any thus far.
Will I get the virus if I download this game from amazon app store in BlueStacks app player?
@SuperMad_BlueBird, the post above clearly explains which stores are safe. Amazon is safe and you won’t get a virus through them.
Must’ve misread it. Thank you
Brilliant site, and articles. Great to see your use on BuySellAds too, its very well done, and you must be making a reasonable amount by now. Good job guys!
these hackers are driving me crazy!!!!
Imagine the birds after getting the virus. Their Android would display King Pig laughing with his piglets and the text on the bottom saying “All your eggs belong to us!” infinitely.
Probably.
Why in the world it’s so funny to hack other’s phones?!
Is GetJar.com official?
I haven’t heard much about getjar recently. I believe it was, but perhaps now it’s “not as official”
