After teasing us for a few weeks with Acree as a battle “buddy”, the much anticipated update v1.5.15 has landed for iOS and v1.4.25 for Android)… Begin Transmission!
Important! It’s advisable to back up your progress before updating.
Note: Many of you reported issues with the ios app crashing. Do not attempt to re-install the game. (see below)
Below are the notable changes/additions that we’ve spotted:
- A New Currency is now available: Valuable MATERIALS such as Pig Iron and Biroium will need to be collected to upgrade bots in addition to coins.
- ARCEE and AIRACHNID are now unlockable: Win missions to bring them home.
- Autobirds and Deceptihogs are upgradable to Level 15!
- Interdimensional MISSION PORTALS: Three portals have been spotted where you can send bots on missions to earn rewards such as coins and materials.
- New material Silo: Allows you to manage your materials capacity with various upgrades.
- Multiple Graphic and menu improvements
- Nodes seem to generate more gold coins, beyond 400.
- There are no new areas to be unlocked so far.
- Various Tweaks and Fixes, including Gamecenter Achievements.

If I remember correctly the achievements were available in GC but not in game

android crashes while loading new audio files, cant play on my devices. Advice, wait updating on android…. till there is a bug fix

Yes @josm There were lots of reports.
@sal9 i got it worked on several devices now (android). what i did:
1. create a backup with helium.
2. delete app (yes now you can since you have a backup).
3. re0install game.
4. use your backup
5. open game
done! everything works now :)
To other member who want to try this: do this when you know how to make a backup! Or wait for a fix.
Yes @josm that works for advanced users, but for everyone else waiting is best. I do not want to be responsible for progress loss. :)
Yes indeed, know what you’re doing and when you never did before, dont try it now. I couldnt wait longer, and since its weekend the next update will not be out eventually till tuesday so i decided to do it :)
How you back up progress?
since it looks like you didnt do it before, dont try. Wait for a fix. Dont risk a progress lose.
edit #3. re-installing must be done with the apk. installation file. as i did. i figured out that re-installing from the google play doesnt work.
Will the crash problems with new version ever be fixed or addressed?
Rovio is currently working on it. But some people have reported that uninstalling when signed in to Facebook (am I right?) and playing the beginning (up to rescuing Bumbleebee, I think), then signing back in, their progress is restored. But if you don’t feel certain about it, don’t uninstall the game.
Also crashing on iOS for iPhone 5. Rovio told me “DO NOT UNINSTALL ABT” or I might lose progress. A fix is on it’s way and their engineers are on top of it.
The video ads no longer double the pigs, only the coins.
@birdleader since we (most of the players) cant access the game can you make a first look video? would love it with all that new content. (if you can even play it). Thanks

Anyone else notice that the App Store said, ” We addressed some minor issues to improve the user experience.” ! I didn’t update my game for a week because I didn’t know that the “minor update” was a major update!
Is Airachnid a Decepti-Bird??
@angrycrab Yep. That’s right. Airachnid is, indeed, a “Decepti-bird”. Just like Arcee, Airachnid is portrayed by Stella the Pink Bird. At first, she seem like an Autobird in the last update before 1.5.15 came, but after the latest update came and seeing gameplay videos of Airachnid and Arcee in action, I noticed that Airachnid is actually aligned with the Deceptihogs, making her the only member of the Deceptihogs who is portrayed by a bird instead of a pig.
When I watched a couple of gameplay videos that feature Arcee and Airachnid being playable, I noticed that if you play as Airachnid, the Autobird Symbol changes to the Deceptihog synbol at the start of a level. That shows that Airachnid is aligned with the Deceptihogs.
Even though Deceptihogs are not necessarily evil in Angry Birds Transformers, this fact would make Airachnid the 5th “evil / bad” bird in the Angry Birds Franchise, with the others being…
Nigel, from Angry Birds Rio and the Rio Films (1st),
Darth Vader / Anakin Skywalker (Episode III) from the Angry Birds Star Wars games (2nd),
The Sword Spirit, from Angry Birds Epic (3rd),

@angrycrab On the bright side, at least the Airachnid from Angry Birds Transformers doesn’t seem as threatening as the Airachnid from the original Transformers franchise in Transformers: Prime (From 2010 -2013).

Talk about a Transformer portrayed by a bird that has positive chemistry with Deceptihogs, but has negative chemistry with Autobirds, kinda like a certain Angry Birds Stella character who has Pigs for allies, but is enemies with other birds. Yep, I am talking about Gale.

Maybe she is a decepti-bird becuse she is the only girl in abo, And also she is a deceptihog, I saw the deceptihog symbol in the corner.
Remember anything about Airachnid that we pointed out? She may prank Autobirds, she may support Deceptihogs, and the Autobird Symbol changes to the Deceptihog Symbol. at the beginning of a level when playing as Airachnid. Yet when you view Airachnid’s info, like in the Squads or upgrading her, she has the Autobird Symbol near her name. How very strange…
A list of all the changes I’ve noticed:
Ads no longer double pigs, just coins,
Arcee and Airachnid were added, just nowhere to be founds on the map (only in the missions),
The symbols for upgrading look different, as is the whole upgrading process (now you need the metals to upgrade and the prices have changed)
There is no more “view your photos” icon, you have to go through the “Facebook portal” (or whatever it’s called) to view them,
Some text has been changed and made more specific (like the squad “?” icon says a different phrase then previously),
There is a new “material silo” that you can upgrade for coins and money to help you store more collected metals,
It displays how much health your characters have on the “choose who you want to upgrade” screen, as well as asking if you want to buy accessories or upgrade your character ( though you can still get accessories on the specific character upgrade screen,
Arcee and Airachnid have new text as well as a new squad that was hinted in the previous update,
The rank stars look different,
Your characters may not be used in a level while on mission or being upgrade, and your character may not go on a mission while upgrading, as well as the other way around,
There are two new mission portals, one way more expensive than the other,
Your characters can go on “missions” that vary and take a while, but allow you to choose rewards (hidden in presents) afterwards,
You get 20 gems if you log into Facebook,
You can shuffle missions in the “mission portal” for five gems,
You can expand your mission portal’s amount of characters for an increasing amount of gems (and you can buy up to three slots in each portal),
All characters you select for a mission get ranked on a star rating chart for their performance, as well as doing totally new celebratory moves,
The achievements look different, as well as some of them being fixed,
And the game gives you red “!”s when something is complete.
This is all that I’ve noticed different in this update. Tell me if I made a mistake or missed something :) .

FYI for those who may want to purchase Gems. It may not work.
Tried to purchase a packet of Gems and my iTunes account was charged the dollar amount but the gems were not added to the game.
I sent a note to Rovio explaining the situation.
Also called iTunes and they refunded my money.

So glad I read this, I have been trying for days to get it to load, and was going to delete the app and reinstall today to see if that fixed it. Having withdrawals from playing :(
How much longer before a fix
Most iOS users I’ve spoken to can’t play the game since upgrade and it’s now been a week
Crashes on upload at 95% also on iPad mini, iOS 8.3
I’ve unlocked Arcee. My first choice got me Arcee, the second – 20 gems. Talk about luck. Now to wait for a mission to unlock Airachnid. :)

I’m going to have to sit this out until Rovio issues a fix. Deleting the game and then reinstalling it makes me too nervous.
Have you meet problems with the achievements Game Center?
In the 1st launch after the update, all the achievements freed one by one as if they had never been it (with the famous “Deceptihog thanks no one”).
Unfortunately, 2 old achievements that I had already had before did not free again. And I have redo the necessary action, nothing works.
It is a question of :
Electromagnetic pulse
Should’ve keep the instructions
Had anybody the same problem ?
I’ve noticed te same as Angrycrab plus,
– Less airdrop gems
– Jenga mode seems to offer lower scoring missions more often
– Hard or very hard missions which are impossible unless your characters are upgraded above 10 and skywarp is used to free them up. It is replaced by another hard mission defeating the point of skywarp
– upgrades cost less and require less coins and are quicker, but can’t be started without the extra components earned in missions, so expect to wait whilst your missions are running. There will be times when you won’t have an upgrade running
Overall what you might perceive to be benefits, more coins etc, are in fact more than offset by earning less, or more time spent.
I’d recommend not upgrading and waiting until you’ve upgraded all characters to level 10.
It would appear that this upgrade is about appearing to give more, but actually giving less, whilst encouraging you to spend more money buying gems to avoid waiting. Definitely about Rovio making more revenue and not about improving the games player experience!
Game play has seriously deteriorated since this update. All you do now is watch timers run down so you can upgrade your robots, the amount of playable missions has vastly reduced and the difficulty has increased so that 90% are unwinnable. The main purpose of the update is for players to spend money to upgrade their robots quicker. Really disappointed. this update has ruined Angry Birds Transformers, it used to be my favourite game and is now no longer playable.

Amount of coins you get from finishing a mission is much less too…not cool with me or anyone else I bet.
Agreed. Used to be my favorite game and now I’m just babysitting, collecting coins, and waiting for upgrades so that I have any hope of completing a mission. I have lots of gems I purchased, too. But I certainly won’t buy anymore. Rip off update. Bad call Rovio. You need to, and quickly so you don’t lose too many fans, open a few areas with missions that are challenging but winnable.
Can anyone tell me what the popped pigs can be used for now?

Richard, as @sweetp said, contact Rovio regarding your issue, they might be able to retrieve your progress.
To save your progress, it is important that you log on to your facebook account while playing.

They introduced that in v1.4.25 Progress is saved on GC and FB, although I do not know how this really works.
Your best bet at this point is to send Rovio a request. Creating a new GC or FB might be too much for one game.
do the missions do anything or is it just a waiting game?
@sal9 Turns out it’s the squad bonus – the nodes generate more coins because the squad bonus is now applied to them. When my squad bonus was 40%, the nodes generated 560 coins (400*140%=560), but now that I’ve unlocked Arcee and Airachnid, the “Valkyries” squad is complete, my squad bonus is now 45% and the nodes now generate 580 coins (400*145%=580).
i shot something and saw it become a ‘gift box’ (not coins or bird points) which was available at the end of the mission. has anyone else seen this? what is the target that produces it?
It’s completely random, but the more things you destroy during a run, the higher the chance that one will pop up.
My Jenga icon disappeared but as soon as I clicked on a coin node, it came back.
This update makes the game more complicated with all the parts involved for upgrades now, plus you have silo upgrades competing for resources too. I was wondering what I was going to do with all the crystals I had been accumulating, but the update gives plenty of opportunities to spend them. I’ve used about 1200 since I upgraded.
Playing the individual levels are a lot harder now, with 1 or 2 out of 6 as my current success rate with all characters at level 10.
@birdleader I’m not sure if you know this or not, but there are certain characters that are better suited to different missions. Each mission has a little icon next to it, and your characters also have different icons. Try to match the characters’ icons with the missions’ icons for best performances and results. For example, the Slingshot Bombardment mission has a missile icon; a character that would do well in this mission would be Heatwave (as he also has a missile icon).
@rizdub I did assume that different characters were better for different missions, but I didn’t make the connection with the character icon. That is SUPER helpful. Thanks so much for sharing.

Anyone know what the yin/yang Deceptihog/Autobird icon egg reward is for some missions? I can’t find it referred to anywhere else in the game.
It seems to be used for upgrading your Silo. I have had to use three of them to upload the Silo from 10 to 11 and 11 to 12.
Not just the silos. Any TF upgrade above L10 requires them as well.
You earn them from the 7h and 12h “Hard” missions. It’s called a “Super Rareium” and it’s used for any upgrade from L10-to-L11 and above.
i,ve played multiple missions at all three of the mission sites. Is this where the 2 new charactors can be “won”? i havent seen them as awards in any of the missions. help? !?
So far the Arcee and Airachnid “Rescue” missions have only spawned in the “Easy” missions node. It’s completely random, there’s no way of forcing these missions to appear (short of spending 5 gems to cycle through another set of missions over and over again until it shows up), so you’ll just have to be patient, or spend a lot of gems.
Since updated to v1.5.15, I have been unable to watch video to double up my coins and pigs, it says “you can’t watch another video right now. Please try again later” I have closed the game and tried hundred times but still no luck, any help please?
