Welcome to the Angry Birds Challenge! Every day there will be a new level selected for you to play (get involved and
let us know what levels you want to see as challenges here). Play for fun or use it as an excuse to improve your current score. A great goal is to try and beat the
"Average" score below. Already done that? Then pork up and try to fling your way into the
"Top 50"! Done that too?! Then take on the ultimate task and shoot for the
"Highscore"! There is also a layer of competition here, as this page
is connected to the leaderboard, so if you can improve your score you may also improve your rank. That said,
don't enter lower scores here.

Update for Angry Birds: As of 1-Apr-2023, top scores from either version of Angry Birds – Original or Rovio Classics (recently renamed to Red’s First Flight) – are eligible for an Underdog badge. Therefore, it doesn't matter which version you play, as long as it beats the Highscore posted on the Challenge page. Score proof rules apply to both versions.
Ho ho ho! A holiday badge to spread some holiday cheer. Available only during the Advent Challenge Days. To be eligible festive flingers must beat the Top Score on that day's Advent Challenge. To validate the score simply leave a screenshot from your 3-star tally page showing the score, along with a basic strategy on the walkthrough page! There will be only ONE HollyDog* awarded per player during the Advent Challenge, no matter how many times the top score is beaten (does not count towards Club Underdog).
* Note - Since many flingers already have a HollyDog badge, we are looking into changing the award system a bit. Please stay tuned, but keep on flinging!

- Can you improve your current score and get into the Top 50?
Darn it,,, can’t play arctic eggpedition until i get the kindle tablet edition… this update made it so the free version is imcompatable with kindle now. same goes with short fuse for ABO… Do you think there ocould also be a challenge each day that isn’t arctic eggspedition?
This is our holiday special Challenge sequence. Normally our challenge levels bounce between all apps.
@amslimfordy I would like to ask if it would be possible to add the number of the Season in the title of the challenge. There are 4 seasons now and this would make it easier to find the level. I made an example of today’s challenge: Angry Birds Seasons 1 Trick or Treat Level 1-1

@amslimfordy, are prohibited the character interchange in the leaderboards?
The Challenge uses our Leaderboards, so all restrictions from there apply.

Squawk! Please note that scores obtained using Character Swaps and TELEPODs are permitted on our Angry Birds Star Wars II leaderboard! However, please submit a strategy on our walkthrough pages explaining which characters were used and how you used them.

I didn’t even know about this planet, and I don’t know why. So I’m trying to 3 star every level on my way to level 27, today’s Daily challenge. I think I’m not gonna get here in time.. :-[
Can’t seem to get the Add Score button to work to post my score, help? All other links on the page seem fine. Also I noticed the counter to the next challenge has disappeared? On an iPhone 4, iOS 7.0.4. Thanks!!
@optik I just checked my iPad with the same iOS and the iphone with iOS6 and both seem to be working just fine. Did you try to clear your cache in the System App? Also try to logout and back in again here in the nest, that might help as well. If not let @AMSlimfordy know, he might have some more info or other things for you to try.

iOS Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Datathen delete the data for ABN (approx. 10-15 KB, ordered by size).@AMSlimfordy – tried your instructions and there was nothing listed for any app in Website Data on my device. I had previously tried clearing both my History and Cookies/Data which did not resolve the issue. I was able to enter my score just now from a desktop computer but still having the same issue with Safari on the iphone for ABN. Cannot enter scores on any leaderboard right now, its almost as if the buttons have been disabled in my browser. I will research further. Thanks everyone for your help!!!!
Well ~ I just learned a AB lesson the VERY hard way………..
Another program on my PC was acting-up this morning so I did a cold-boot instead of shutting down normally ~ I had Star Wars open playing the Challenge at the time (Moon of Endor 5-16). After the re-boot I went back into Star Wars to continue flinging but to my surprise the game asked for my activation key. “Strange” I thought as I searched for the corresponding Roxio email in the archives. After activating the game I found the game had been reset and all my prior 3-Star scores for all levels had been erased. So my Challenge efforts are over for today as I can’t open Moon of Endor until the prior levels are all replayed. NOTE TO SELF: Never cold-boot the PC with an Angry Birds game open ~ Also better go look for and re-read that tutorial about backing-up the AB data files that I noticed somewhere on the ABN website.
@amslimfordy ~ Do all my leaderboard scores for AB-SW that I had previously entered need to be deleted either by the Admins or myself ~ or shall I just re-enter them as I complete each level again?
@Uncle-B I’m so sorry to hear this! Let’s address three quick things.
1) No you don’t have to delete your scores on ABN.
2) The backup guide can be found right here. PC is luckily the easiest platform to backup.
3) While we’re on the topic, you have a couple options to try to recover this data. It might be worth trying. I’ll shoot you a Private Message.

Did the time frame for the challenge change? Its 10pm eastern and the challenge still show 1 hour left. Wondering if the challenge didn’t update for Daylight Saving’s spring forward?

The really odd thing, I checked the challenge on my phone at 10:06pm eastern and the timer showed 1d 0h 54m. (should have taken a screen cap)
The above mention was when I checked on my pc. I will take a look at it again tonight and if I see anything weird, I’ll try to post a screen cap.

I agree, that is a pretty big boo on my part. I had added some while traveling last week, but only enough to cover the week.

This works for me. I am working two jobs and trying to keep up with the kids and the house until the middle of April.
@birdleader – I am not sure I like the idea of users choosing levels for the daily challenge. Why can’t it be automated? Alternate the games and episodes in a certain order, but choose the particular level in an episode randomly. This will have an element of surprise. Of course, some levels should be excluded (the ones with glitches that have been later fixed), and if the program chooses it randomly, it should be rejected and the random search repeated. I would say the users should provide the list of levels to be avoided, not the list of levels to be played.
Thanks for the suggestions @annach. Ultimately, I think we need both. We should automatically pull levels while also allowing users to request their favorites. We mix those so know one knows what day they will appear. I think there is a nice social element there, but I also agree the challenge should be a surprise.

@mvnla2 this is the Facebook S&T, not from ABO. I’m wondering if it was meant to be the ABO one, it was requested in the forum thread. @birdleader, @amslimfordy

This level (S&T level 4) should have never been chosen for the Challenge, even the ABO one. It used to have self-destruction allowing to finish it with no birds, and later it was fixed. As a result, it is now impossible to beat the top score. Such levels should be avoided. @birdleader
@amslimfordy, dumb question: where do i find this game to play? The regular ‘surf and turf’ is on my Ipad installed. There is another Surf and Turf, never played it.
@bernersenn – this challenge is for the Surf and Turf Level 4 that is on the online Facebook version of Angry Birds. I think this is the first time I’ve seen one of the free online versions as a Challenge level.
On the Leaderboards it is AB Friends.

@gypsybird, now I’m completely confused. When I searched for Angry Birds Friends I was pointed to the Appstore. That game I did (a long time ago) install on my Ipad. Is this the same one? I thought I had to play in a Facebook window, obviously that isn’t.

The Surf and Turf episode (in the “story levels” section) is identical to the one in ABO for mobile devices.
Ab friends for mobile devices only features the tournament levels.

A Surf&Turf 4 challenge again? Just had one a week ago.
That was accidentally the Facebook level. This is undoing that mistake with the ABo level.
But this is a zero bird level.
@pjng I don’t think it is anymore. During the Mar28 challenge, I had nothing better to do, so I read the year’s worth of comments from people unable to replicate the collapse. I tested it 1000x on two platforms (PC, iOS) and got perfect stability every time. No variance at all. No scores above 85k.
Despite that, the top 4-5 scores on today’s challenge have to be from 0-birders. They could be using old versions, or something, but I don’t think those scores are remotely attainable for most of us.

@amslimfordy How do I and @budgie get level 27 of Short Fuse on PC? Levels 25 and 26 are there, but if I try to go to level 27 a sign drops down that says “Coming Soon”
The chapters were renumbered in the latest mobile update. But if you check the level walkthrough, it’s the same level as “PC 26-14”.

Is it just me, or is this now primarily an ABo/ABs challenge of the day?
My reason for asking is that in April alone, we’ve had 7 ABo/ABo g.egg levels (4 in the past 5 days!) and 6 ABs levels selected for the challenge, alongside 3 ABr, 2 ABsp, 1 ABsw and 1 ABsw2 levels.
Don’t get me wrong, I like the idea of members putting forward the challenge levels, I just think the app rotation level selection could be better executed; waking up to either an ABo or an ABs daily challenge does not exactly fill me the thrill that the challenge used to provide – just my opinion!
Oh well thanks Slim! I was just sitting down to work on that now that family has gone and Game of Thrones is over lol. That’s very kind of you.
@AMSlimfordy — The top 3 scores are all by members with low ranks. Are they all legit?
@mvnla2 I know #1 is. I have no reason to suspect #2 or 3 since they’ve been there for a long time.
I’m not seeing the daily challenge showing up at the top of the page like it usually does. I have to go to the Community drop down menu in order to access it. Is that a bug?
Has anyone posted a “new” comment on today’s Challenge? There are 4 pages of drivel and no strats. What gives? Talk about Rio and other levels and {..mod..}. C’mon flingers… If I had a good strat I’d post it but I haven’t been able to solve this one. My score stinks but I was hoping for some input…

I participated in the last challenge and was number 10 around the last hour of the improved score.. Is the Underdog assigned just for number 1 or all the 50 players in the Top 50?
Is it my imagination or has the (IMHO) horrid level Poached Eggs 1-5 being up too long – i.e more than 24hours (and, again IMHO, too often as a Challenge – not too sure how often but it certainly seems to have been at least three or four times.
Meant to say it was definitely there Jun 16th at 08:46 UK time (UTC+1) and it is now 21:39 on 17th June (Unless I’ve entered a time warp!
@mumsie42 I’m sure you have an imagination, but it doesn’t apply in this case :) Judging by the walkthrough comments, PE 1-5 also made an appearance March 12 ’14, and May 26 ’13, and probably other times where nobody botherd to comment.
I wish overplayed/boring levels like this were permanently retired from the challenge list at some point. There were only 20 improved scores on this one. That says to me either it’s been challenged so much that improvement is difficult, or nobody bothered to play.
@kelani I agree! Especially when it is a level that I personally dislike! And then to leave it there for two days!!!!

There have been several times when a new Daily Challenge has posted that my current personal best score was already well above the average score such that bettering it was difficult if not impossible.
In such instances is it permissible to delete (by first entering a new score of “0”) and then re-enter that existing current personal best score to establish a position in the Daily Challenge, or would that practice be considered improper?

@Uncle-B I don’t mind really… Put I think such an action to earn an “Underdog” badge wouldn’t be proper. :)
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the matter @AMslimfordy. And I absolutely agree that wouldn’t be appropriate.
That would require one to already have the current High Score for the level, zero it out to move the next highest score into first place, and then re-enter the score to “steal” a “Ünderdog” badge. Without question that would be wrong on so many levels and the badge should be withheld should such an unscrupulous act ever be attempted.
At this time Uncle B can only dream of holding a High Score and the “Ünderdog” badge that would come with it should it be achieved during the Daily Challenge. But “Hope Springs Eternal” as Alexander Pope wrote so long ago…..
@amslimfordy – Challenge not showing on the banner again! not sure if it matters – for me it’s handy cos I can decide at a glance whether I want to try it! And for newbies it may attract them to click on it and learn more about our nest!

@BirdLeader Won’t we have challenges for AB Star Wars II game in the Nest?
@MPG973 We have removed Angry Birds Star Wars II from the ABN Challenge. This was done out of fairness to all users due to some borderline-unfair strategies that exist in SW2. These strategies made SW2 Challenges extremely uninteresting and more trouble than they’re worth.
@AMslimfordy @admins – I just saw this post and I for one strongly applaud this decision. It often felt like I was going to a gunfight with a stick in some of the SWII challenges. Thank you.
In regard to the decision to allow entering a zero when you can not beat your prior best score in the daily challenge. Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of the challenge? On the days when I can not beat my best score I move on to fight another day. Besides in the instructions, it says not to enter a lower score. But that’s just my humble opinion. A continued thank you for all your hard work..
@birdleader & @amslimfordy – currently (16:15 BST in the UK) the #2 slot in the top 50 has a score of 98790 but no name! Same on most improved.

I hated this level the first time around. If I recall, it was one of those I really struggled with.
