About the Angry Birds 2 Arena

This is getting ridiculous, now everytime I play the matches 5, 6 and 7 my opponents are ahead of me by at least 50 FP and I have to use a bunch of spells and sometimes even gems, it’s even worst if I try to complet a second streak, almost impossible.

The opponents are supposedly pre recorded matches of real player but I seriusly doub it, they always get millions of points with weak birds like blues or chuk, also I’ve noticed certain patterns in the way they play that made me think that.

At this point I’m seriously thinking to stop playing the arena and stay only with the normal levels.

I’ve decided to play the arena in the way Rovio wants me to. I’ll use my spells and gems till they’ve all gone then . . . DELETE.

Fix the Arena glitches already!!!  You would think as long as the arena has been out they could figure out the crashing glitches.

Many times I will be deep into a win streak (twice just this week) and the app just freezes.  Usually it is after the match when you would get chance to watch a video for a free bird but nothing will “click”, even the quit option.  I have to manually close the app and restart which loses the match and ends the streak.

Today it froze after accepting the match and before the “Pick Cards” page.  Just kept spinning.  I had to manually close the app and lost the streak.

Anyone else have this happen?

That’s not all Leobadwolf, your opponent adds points twice in each leg of a stage, even without using any birds in the first three legs.
The game is extremely tricky in order to make you spend and buy gems.
This can be accepted by adults to some extent, but for children who play well and see the game cheating, it’s a big disappointment. But worse still, the game is teaching them that cheating is normal in life.

WTF was that today?

A supposed  cheater named Crash Feathers with 100 less flock power and birds half of my level defeated me with 26 millions to 10 millions. The arena still sucks.

Looks like a tremendous glitch with AB2’s rank reporting functionality, started wit last week’s update. Before this update, I would get matches of 90-150% of my flock power (usually, the higher is arena level number, the higher is your adversary’s rank). After it, the range was corrected to ~95-110% of my power – which, I admit, made the whole thing a little bit less challenging.

But today, I’m getting matches with merely 40-50% of my power, and having hard time defeating them. For all I can guess, guys at Rovio are playing with their back-end functionality, and it’s manifesting in misreporting your adversaries’ ranks. So what I do today, is multiplying the reported rank by 2 (or better, 2.5) and making my decisions upon that reconstructed number.
….Actually, just before starting this message I merely made a win over a 150-ish dude (I’m 354) having to spend 60 gem for a play-on.

Hi all – I have been lurking here since I started playing AB2 a few weeks ago – Arena today is crazy,  Seems like displayed FP and Bird Level of opponents are cut in half — shows FP 120, but they score like 240.

I think what we’re seeing is FP without hat and slingshot adjustments – i.e. card levels only. So when it says “200 FP” it’s probably more like 400 odd. Nonetheless, it looked like the Arena had been “fixed” for quite a few days with fair match ups etc, but they’ve now messed with it again to 1) stuff up the FP display of opponents and 2) bring back the impossible-to-beats. Why oh why break it again after fixing it?!?

I agree that for the last few days – not counting yesterday – that my opponents were pretty evenly matched to my flock and that the battles were competitive.  Yesterday my opponents showed half of my flock power but WOW did they ever score high.  Several of these opponents used spells which showed a power level much higher than that of the birds themselves leading me to think that @rippiggies has the right insight about the lvel not including effects of hats and sling.  Either way, the level of competition is artificially unfair.

When will Rovio ever stop changing the gameplay?!! It makes it either too easy or impossibly hard. A couple of days ago, I could win every game with a huge advantage, now it is next to impossible to reach the 7-th fight, not mentioning winning it. In both cases, the game causes frustration. Would you just make it normal – neither easy, nor too hard… Or there will be only cheaters to play your game… Actually, they are already at the top of the ranking list. (((

I haven’t been able to play the arena on my iPhone for the last 24 hours. When I click ‘play’ it takes me back to the home screen. This on top of regular log-outs and crashes that have been happening since two updates ago.

A flawed product that Rovio expects me to pay for.

And the ads don’t work if you wanna get free bird. Not only in the arena but at every mode of game even at free common chest. Oh and clowns with spells too. I always had at 5 streak guys with 2 spells. Now I met a guy with 4 spells.

I am really tired of these shenanigans…yesterday I supposedly had an opponent weaker than me. I was on the last level to finish a streak. I used all 5 spells and had to pay THREE times to finish. Today is no better.  Got beat by 25 million to someone lower than me…refused to pay this time

Rovio, I apply to you once again… make the game hard, but not impossible. How am I suppose to win, if I made 8 strikes, played my really best, but my opponent (who was 12 points weaker than me) won with a superiority of 12 mln? That is unfair and ruins my willingness to play.

Your opponent won partially because we’ve been playing for two and a half years and not one of us understands how points are awarded. It’s that simple.

Just played one guy 2 minutes ago. Streak 1, me 395 and him 397. Last two birds we were tied at 15M each. He scored 9M off two birds, in rooms that are unlikely to offer that many points.

The answer is simple. Stop pursuing the Arena wins. The payoffs are minimal, and the competition – real or robotic – is intense. I’ve been at Vanilla League for a while, and the Arena is an afterthought at best, 1-2 games a day. Sure you don’t gain feathers, but then, with 40,000 feathers for a level up, pfeh…

Much more profitable to play Clan battles for pearls. It is clear that Rovio does not understand basic numbers, because Clans are the purest form of competition. No spells, and the individual contests tend to smooth skill spikes. Playing in Clan events of course costs rubies, so that’s their strategy, but if you have a decent amount of rubies stashed, it works well.

The only anti-Clan battle issue I’ve seen is the way points are awarded. But with good clan mates it works. My clan is 12-2  so far and I usually finish on top 5, earning lots of of pearls and getting hats.

Good one this evening. Had to play a video in the arsenal for an extra card and whilst there was a replay button for the video there was no “x” to leave the video. So had to shut the game and start again. Happened three times.

 

Anyone else with with this issue. The video was about hidden items (can’t remember the title of the game/video). Ironic really as I couldn’t find the “x”

The levels of competition “is” unfair. Whether I was under 100 flock power or after 8-9 months of playing daily, over 400 flock power now, I’m getting players 100 points ahead of me, at times spending gems to win. No matter what  level you’re at, you’re getting burned by the game itself. Makes me wonder if there’s people us g cheats as well??? For example, just starting an ARENA match, no cards played yet, how can the opponent have 2 to 3 Terrence cards showing as their first 3 cards??

As far as I know the order of your opponent’s cards is how he used them, not how they were shown to him, so it’s possible that he used Terrence as his first card, then the new card added to his three options was Terrence and he used again.

 

But I’m not sure if that can happen for a third time, I don’t remember if I ever seen the same card being played more than two times in a row.

Does that EVER happen? I mean, at the game opening round, I don’t really recall getting the same card I just flinged back at me as a replacement. I get the same card but not in the cards I am seeing open (top 3).

Am I remembering wrong?

I just looked and, at least in the arena, any card you fling back stays in the top three in its same place.

Can someone please tell me how a player in the arena can have a star rating of 25 and a flock power of 511 with all birds over 70?

They must spend a lot of money in the game for all those expensive hats. That is all I can think of. I would think if they played a lot their star power would be much higher.

So now there is no free bird when you are behind…it is 60 gems or you lose.
