ABSW2 help getting started

My kid loves AB and just got star wars II.

I have no idea how to get to the next level, he has 3 stars on the first one (with Qui-Gon Jinn) with high score of 110500

When he plays the other AB games the next level unlocks once you get even 1 star (I think).

When I look at characters (no idea if this is relevant or how these move up) I see:
OBI-WAN KENOBI is at 63%
ANAKIN Episode 1 is at 19%
Padme is 5%
Captain Panaka 3%

Any help appreciated.

More newbie questions:
The link says I need 130K points to unlock the next level. I have 110K as my highest score and reading the comments from other players they talk about high scores around 120K. How do I can I accumulate points to get to 130K or am I missing the point?
