    Haha I understand what you mean @cosmo2503, I like to ‘hide’ in ABF :) But in ABG it is quite fun to see others’ scores occasionally for the sole reason that if you discover a hidden (as yet undocumented) game mechanic you can use it to suddenly beat everyone elses’ scores and leave them wondering! If you want to hide your scores you just have to play in Airplane Mode (or disable data & wifi) and your scores won’t be posted in public.

    Just checked ABN’s gameguide – there are still more scoring details yet to be uncovered! But no worries I will cover them in my guide over the weekend. It’s only for ‘basics’ though. I’m right now at 120cc and don’t intend to grind all the way up to the top where every single upgrade costs like 3,000 bird coins. Just going to see how far I can get without IAPs!

    @les-toreadors I stopped playing AB Friends couple weeks ago. When I started playing ABF on iPad I found out that one of my friends post scores as I couldn’t beat her scores I unfriend her.
    As for playing AB GO! in air plane mode I didn’t know it is possible. I thought I have to be connected to the Internet and signed into my Rovio’s account.
    @all I started playing Jenga game. It has strange score-reward system. No matter if you finished level with 1 or 3 stars score you’ll only get 70 coins (I get 140 as I purchased double coins).

    Hello : @mvla2, @cosmo2503 and @les toreadors : you guys for know are the top posting on this. I have some wonders questions and topics to share with all you
    I still stuck on mid maybe more ahead on Stella character ; I can’t unlocked bomb bird
    Do you already unlocked that guy.!!! Where you are located over this hard and annoying game; gave you spending money on IAPs ( I did 37 dollars already) ; I am not motivated to spend any other penny anymore ;
    How many characters you already unlocked!!!
    What kind of cars you are using; do you are playing all challenges !!!!
    Are specting to see the video-achivements on ABN !!! Have you visited YouTube and already watched some or many ABGo videos.!!!
    I already sow many YouTube video of ABGo . They are really interesting and well doing; they even loocks easy to achive !!! But they are not; after that I tried to do by the that way !!! I couldn’t do that way. There is something that I don’t really like it: the bird races tired and wait hours while they rest; then play : again: I hated there is like okay by capitules or by episodes : I did read many books ; not anymore: ROVIO wants to do big business with this game: will take several months to achive all the Achivements …!!! NO WAY FOR ME…!!! I’ll try some weeks if I feel myself that this game is so tedious , hard and not enjoyable …! I’ll quit . This one is worse than ABO REDFEATHER . It’s this game only for High Tech players!!!! Or even professional players!!!! There are not many top players or others regular players from ABN PLAYING this …!!!! Ouside atmosphere ; new and renovated game.!!!
    What are your spectacion ; wishes and realities about in the short time in this outrageous game: sorry but I am very close to quit . Just tell me what do you whant over it….! Waiting for your response .

    I am progressing rapidly through the game and taking my own sweet time, but I am well on my way to saving up 20k credits for future kart purchases.

    I also beat Bomb, Blues, and King Pig with grossly underpowered free karts at minimum CC spec.

    The way these games work, in-app purchases are not supposed to guarantee anyone victory. If you don’t know how the game works and not doing well in it then do not spend a single cent on it! The best lap times are not set by who has the most expensive cash shop kart, but who can implement actual motorsports knowledge/experience in the game, enjoy it as the designers intended us to and contribute to its community and future development – without spending a cent.

    In free to play games, core gameplay functionality is never locked out by cash purchases. Zero dollars and zero cents is perfectly good starting capital for ABGO and I never saw any need to touch the in-app purchases. It’s not needed, when a free starting kart is actually the best of them all for Seedway practise right when I installed the app.

    This is a fantastic little un-serious racing game and I would gladly buy a kart with real money if it had a pillow on it. Now though, I am rocking the friends list leaderboard with cheap rickety karts with maximum top speed and nothing else :)

    @nacho18 — So far I only have Stella, and am not doing all that well. I am looking forward to @Les-Toreadors’ guide, which should be available today or tomorrow.
    BTW, you misspelled my name its mvnla2 (MV n, for in, la for Los Angeles, 2 for historical reasons)

    cosmo2503
    @cosmo2503

    @nacho18 I do agree with @les-toreadors opinion and advices she gave. However I bought all Telepods karts so I unlocked all chapeters and I am able to collect decent amount of coins in Stunt episode, which I use on upgrading karts.
    You should upgrade kart to max speed and eventually upgrade strength. During race attack immediately and take the shortestshortest track.
    Before you beat Stella (just in case that you haven’t so far) try to play as much as you can and collect coins.

    Not using any IAPs (lesson learned on another game, will never go down that rabbit hole again!), I made it the air races last night. I keep getting lost in the air but am getting a bit better at watching for the arrow signs. I am enjoying the Go races despite the irritation of the tired characters.

    Back in the first 2 sets of races, I need some challenge help please. When the challenge says to use 3 boost pads in a race, how do I do that?

    I am assuming this means the character boost? I only ever get one character boost in a race. Do I need to buy more with gems or coins, and if so … where and how do I do this?

    Thanks for any help!

    One more thing. I rather dislike the look of the final cart I ended up with in the second races LOL. Would love it if we could put together a photo gallery of what each cart turns into along the way. Not a high priority as no effect on gameplay but could be a fun community effort perhaps.

    @all I am not advertising any IAPs but one and only worth of money paid is “double coins”, others are completely unneccessery.

    Thanks @LaurenM for the video lol that kid is one funny dude hee !

    On the first race am i supposed to hit the ice blocks or no.
    Actually it says track 1 but it’s not the same ad when i started. .?

    Kathy
    @kathy

    It keeps saying I fail. .

    cosmo2503
    @cosmo2503

    @kathy you should avoid both stone as well as ice blocks.

    Kathy
    @kathy

    Thanks @cosmo253 this is pretty tricky ;) but fun; 0

    Les Toreadors
    @les-toreadors

    @furfeather – the boost pads are those arrows in the middle of the road that give you a speed boost when you drive over them. Look out for them on Seedway and Rocky Road, they are very obvious square pads.

    @Kathy
    – For challenge levels you must deliberately hit ice blocks or other types of blocks, or perform various driving tasks. There is little penalty to ramming the blocks if you hit them at a glancing angle, i.e., swerve before you hit or drive ‘sideways’ ala powersliding/drifting. If you ram the block with the back edge of the kart you take little damage and speed loss.

    If the game keeps telling you “fail” it means you failed for the primary objective of the game mode. In Beat the Fuse you must try and hit the finish line before the bomb explodes and that means a kart with high top speed and acceleration. The former to reach the finish line ASAP, the latter to recover from impacts and loss of optimal driving line. Try to steer for the inside of every corner. You are of course distracted by all the blocks placed on the inside of the corners but you can still hug the wall or use Red’s special power to blast through the blocks without major speed loss.

    However for your case, completion of the challenges actually does over-rule the requirement to actually, finish on time, because even if you fail the level but accomplish all the driving objectives, you are allowed to progress to the next Challenge stage like nothing happened. This will be crucial to remember once you get up to Challenge Level 5 or so, where there are some very peculiar objectives like “finish without your kart” which involves totaling the vehicle just before the finish and ejecting the bird/pig over the finish line. I don’t know of a way to more easily deliberately eject from the vehicle yet!

    And @all this is what I’m talking about when I mention setup an optimal driving line through the course for maximum speed. Steering for the insides of the corner reduces the driving distance to the finish line. Also make use of the camber of the track.

    Driving Line and Drifting technique in ABGO

    I like a kart that has maximum top speed and minimal handling so I can drive with slip angle all the way down – so called ‘drifting’ does increase your score tremendously, useful for Facebook bragging rights. I don’t actually call this “drifting” because in this game you can’t control power application nor can one drive with ‘opposite lock’ in an actual drift machine. It’s more like vintage motorcycle speedway where riders slide their way around the track. Back in the day of bias-ply tyres it was considered optimal to have an “optimal blend of grip and slip!”. Hence, save Bird Coins, upgrade top speed and acceleration to save some coin in the early stages :)

    Btw, if you don’t want the score to be posted on Facebook then simply disable Facebook sync in the main menu options. Easy peasy :)

    A rather length draft of my gameguide is ready for posting but I want it to be vetted by @Birdleader first.

    Kathy
    @kathy

    @cosmo253 lol your score can’t possible be worse than mine
    We’ll get the hang of it; )
    How can we not with a great leader like @LesToReadors;

    Furfeather
    @furfeather

    Oh … The red arrow boxes. I didn’t realize they boosted speed. I just thought they were helping direction challenged drivers like myself lol. Thanks much for the help @les-toreadors; tried this out and successfully made it past one of those challenges now. Onwards and upwards!

    Les Toreadors
    @les-toreadors

    Yeah the boost pads do help direction changes. The presence of boost pads will often create an opportunity to steer hard for one of the pads and rocket off straight away to the next turn point, instead of following a more conventional racing line as previously mentioned.

    This can be exploited in Rocky Road (track 1) where there is a huge downhill cavern with a sharp bend at the base. There are boost pads right after the bend so aim right for the nearest pad and rocket off at a right angle!

    @cosmo2503

    @les-toreadors I like your kart, sooo cute. As I mentioned I scanned my telepods and I am not aware how would basic kart look like after upgrades.
    I managed to finish game without kart many times, unvoluntary, during champion chase vs. Bomb so I was prepared for this challenge, it isn’t that difficult.
    Does anyone play Jenga? I can’t see any challenge in that part of game. There is a ship, blocks and pigs, you can’t zoom in to see where exactly you want to hit and in my case everything is just random. I scored between 70k and 107k and I can’t see what was difference in shoting. I just hope that ABO will never become 3D game.
    Add note: This game “eats” battery like mad.

    Les Toreadors
    @les-toreadors

    That’s @dh-kim’s seedway kart. Kim did all the screenshots in the (soon!) upcoming guide because my device is horrible at taking screenshots and would often hang while doing so.

    Lol! @ the finish game sans kart thing. I found that my friends commenting on the pigs rolling here and there after an “epig” first-corner crash after race start quite hilarious. You can dismount opponents by deliberately firing your slingshot into/over their line of departure. Sometimes you land hard enough that the opponent gets dismounted. This usually happens in the normal races with many many piglets. Champions are always a bit stronger and harder to ram out of line/disable.

    I think I have all (or most, haven’t opened all the packages!) the Telepods by now but haven’t purchased the Jenga set. I would love to as a friend of mine wants the unlock code.

    Also have you tried looking for the shortcuts in Seedway?

    Seedway 1 – you can ‘commit suicide’ by driving off the side of the broken bridge in a normal race (or champion chase, if it has no course limitation and allows you to take the ‘uphill’ course on the right). You end up in a canyon directly facing the finish line. Roll to victory in literally a few seconds with no corners.

    Seedway 2 – You can drive on the two large patches of grass on the left side of the track. Easy way to overtake Bomb Bird by cutting corners using the flat green grass, who is pretty vicious if he’s close by.

    Finally, here’s a delicious diorama featuring Stella and Matilda racing for a huge 500CC cake!

    (Seriously, I ate the whole cake. 500CC Cake capacity required!)

    Hi @mvnla2, @cosmo2503 and @all, here is the link to the discussion thread for my proposed ABGO motorsports training guide. Hopefully it provides a more driver-centric experience to all. I like to distract myself from the obvious game limitations (or design flaws) and so the 5 chapters I have written so far will at least be a different and hopefully entertaining read! :)

    Hi, I am busy with the challenges where you have to be one of your friends’ score. Problem is I don’t seen any friends. I have some friends who are playing (yes through facebook) and even have a Rovio account. Am I missing something?

    Les Toreadors
    @les-toreadors

    @jp2400 – you have to activate Facebook integration, either by clicking where the Facebook icon is on the races page (top right hand side of the screen, which shows your top score – there should be an FB logo there), or by the options (bottom left icon) via main start menu of the game.

    It should be automatic after that.

    JP2400
    @jp2400

    I already did that. It shows my facebook picture, so there is some sort of connection. Other people don’t see me neither. My wife has an invite button below her picture. I don’t have that either.

    MVNLA2
    @mvnla2

    I have the opposite problem, which actually helped me, because the game says I have a friend with 0 score, which isn’t correct, and he his no longer on my friends list, ’cause I didn’t want to see how well he was doing!
