Beat The New Chuck Set Weapon

Does anyone have tips for how to beat the new Chuck set weapon? It seems to grant immunity to all the other birds and the banner?

I went up against someone with it. Never again. I got slaughtered, partially because I was using my standard team that included Rogues. Now knowing what the capabilities were, I foolishly entered the battle.

I’m also curious what strategies people have for this.

@indyswainosan @tman I know, right!? I’m really nervous, because I’m 100% reliant on the ‘Venomous’ team in the arena. I’m really going to have to start mastering alternate teams/strategies.

Well, using Sea Dog might be the best way, even though he’s not familiar and good to control. ( You can include me in these players, see my profile picture and you’ll know why.)

My favorite team is
Thunderbird (Wizard works too) with Reborn Set
Cap’n with Sugar Rush Set
Spies with Artillery Strike Set
Banner: Mighty Set or Sinister Set with Resurrection Emblem

The strategy is based on increased critical hit chance, critical damage and attack power. You basically try to attack the banner (de-buffed by Thunderbird) with Spies buffed by Cap’n and hope for a critical hit (around 6k damage with L47 Ballista – L52 would be even worse).
If you have the golden Chili, your first turn is Cap’n buffs Spies, Chili on Chuck, Spies attack banner.

If your opponent has Chuck’s new Mana Set, Thunderbird is useless – use Wizard instead.

I don’t expect much trouble from the new set with this team. I’m not playing arena till week 5 or so though, so I haven’t had a chance to try.

Biggest issue I have had with it is that the players with the new set are also generally also Level 50 mastery 12 with the new set at level 52 and a banner to match. I have beaten it, but my standard team is all about attack (Wizard, Sea Dog, Spies) and with the chili, I usually knock out at least one or two opponent birds on my first strike if I get the coin toss.

I use two bird teams for an occasion like this:

Paladin with Dragonbreath or Samurai with Grand Slam
Wizard with Twin Lightning
Bard with Nightmare
Blessed Set with any emblem

This team has very high damage and can heal when needed. I’m just overall fond of this team because it’s just so simple but effective. Sometimes I use Samurai with Grand Slam instead of Paladin because of that extra chance of stun.

Sinister Set with Vampiric Emblem

This is a very high damage team with automatic healing for both the birds and the banner. With Skulkers debuff, Berserkers raw damage and Wizards heavy hitting this team can wipe out pretty much anything very quickly. I didn’t put sets because you can use any set you want for this team.

The new set is a counter for the powerful venomous teams.
However, if Chuck is wearing this set, he is very vulnerable. It’s very easy to down Chuck without the Reborn set, that’s your counter to this set.

The first time I faced the set, it was 50 for 50 in warding off negative effects. Venom team of course. Just now I faced him again, with a strike team, and again got my butt kicked. He was 4 for 4 in warding off stuns. Never again. When I see it, it’s off to start a McCool battle. It’s totally ridiculous.

In case anyone does not know, this set not only has a chance to immediately block incoming statuses, but it also has a chance to remove all existing statuses on your allies at the beginning of every turn. This makes the set the ultimate anti-DoT set.
