I don’t use facebook. I thought the game progress was saved through game center and rovio cloud support (later discovered rovio account covers other games but not this one). But game center has always kept it connected. My iphone automatically updated the game as I have auto updates on.
Tried to play – the game crashed, kept saying need to update over and over.
As with previous bugged updates, deleted game and redownloaded from app store. This has never been a problem before, as it logs into game center and restores my progress to approximately where I left off. Not this time….Now I check game center and all my achievements are gone. I can’t restore purchases. I had 33 million gold coins and 14k gems and all level 13+ characters with half to 15! Bought the bumblebee hot rod character but not the nemesis prime. had shockwave from holidays. I spent serious time and a little money on this and all I got from support was:

we are sincerely sorry but if you deleted the game and it wasn’t connected to Facebook, there is no way for us to restore your game progress. The game hasn’t been connected to our cloud servers which is why the save data has only existed locally on your device. This means that when you deleted the game, you also deleted the save files. Our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience!

I would hope that customer service could compensate and restore my progress…of course, if not getting full itunes refund and never touching a rovio game again…

UPDATE: 2/1/2016 As @circlerev mentioned, new Lunar New Years update Game Center restored my account. Hopefully this new cloud save feature will help too but definitely saving progress via syncing with my computer more often.
Missed the soundwave event, oh well.
