‘Bout time we had another “idiots in quizzes” post. In House of Games today (I always have it on while I am cooking) the four celebrity contestants had to mark Singapore on a map of Asia. All four of them had been to Singapore, one of them very recently. So what did they do? Two of them went for the interior of China, not even the coast. The other two picked out Taiwan and Hainan, islands way out at sea and a very long way from Singapore.  So even if you gave them some leeway, this was guessing of monumental stupidity.  I think this is why the Eggheads used to do so well – when they didn’t know they were fantastic guessers. The visiting teams were invariably rubbish at guessing.

Yep, I saw the Singapore episode, I’m good at geography
The Bunnyman has travelled extensively with me, but ask him to point to Panama, Estonia or Hong Kong, I bet he’d be at least 500 (possibly) 1000 miles away

@brianN, both Angry Birds levels so 2-12 is Poached Eggs and 4-9 is Mighty Hoax. Conventional numbering so not much more to add. Annoyingly today’s Challenge (ABO 6-2) is not within reach using Ver 1.6.3, so I’ve had to sit it out. But at least on 1.6.3 I finally caught up with (and benefitted from) the self-collapsing level 3-9, which has some very dodgy high scores.  The annoying thing is that although there is a very useful list of Levels That Have Got Easier, what I really want is a list of Levels That Have Got Harder, but I don’t think there is one.

@hunnybunny, the geography thing drives me mad. On the same programme a couple of them had not the foggiest idea of where South Korea was. The fact that they kept choosing China for everything seems to imply that they didn’t even know where China was. Today somebody failed to work out which country was bordered on either side by Canada and Mexico. It feels to me like wilful ignorance.

Talking of wilful ignorance, there is a lot of it about. Fingers crossed for the US election.

Bit late in the day now @desperate-dan so just mucking about in ABS GE levels. One level in particular (HD Gold Ring) has a glitch that is very easy to get working but just cannot get it to pay out the high scores that some have achieved.Top glitch score is about 100k above my best non glitch score( which I think is almost the best I can get).Very frustrating and I did notice that probably all but 2 of the glitch scores were made on ios devices which made me think it was a platform related issue( though @eyestone is 5th on android which makes me persevere).Have seen every form of the glitch described by others just not the one that matters.

Maybe I should look more at AB GE levels. They too are very glitchy.

As well as stupid answers there are also stupid questions. How about this from an interviewer to Damian Lewis:”Why is Wolf Hall so unwoke?”

Cos it’s a historical drama set in the court of King Henry VIII maybe?!?

Something a bit odd about some of the leaderboards. For example 11 of the top 50 in Level 1-24 in AB have blank names. It’s the same on other levels. Was this always the case or has something caused this recently? I don’t remember seeing it before although I think it was mentioned recently in the context of a Challenge. Did we come up with a theory about it?  It seems wrong and they ought to be removed, IMO. Any thoughts @sweetp?

Well I moved on and this is where I got to.

Depressed, concerned and bewildered. It’s been a pretty miserable day. I speak as a member of the human race.

So took Twiggy up a big mountain. She was so happy scampering across the rocks and heather that I soon cheered up, thank goodness.
