Hard to find new forums (Closed)

Hi – just a quick suggestion – the new forums are hard to find since they’re not included in the “header” (the old forum is a link there). If these new forums were included in the banner you might get more activity. Again, just a thought. Thanks.

@playdbird Heya! You are 100% right. That’s one of the final pieces to the puzzle. We haven’t done it yet because we’re trying to figure out a plan for how to handle the more popular forum threads in the old forum. We don’t want to create any unnecessary confusion for posters or the owners of the threads. With that said, the plan will be to update that main nav link very soon. The new forum IS coming…

I think what we’ll do (soon-ish) for the more popular threads is recreate them here and close them in the old forum. This way people can still view them, but new comments / replies will have to happen here.

I do really appreciate you posting here. A few of the cool things with the new forum include:

1. We will be able to assign points to topics and replies. It’s not in place yet, but it will be soon. That just wasn’t possible in the old one.

2. @mentions work properly. Woot!

3. You can subscribe and favorite topics. Favorited topics will appear in your profile under the, “Forums” tab.

4. We can have more moderators. The permissions system in the new forum is much more robust, so we can get more people involved. I hope some key ‘Nesters will be eager to help out. ;)

Wow @BirdLeader, those changes are awesome! I especially like #1, since many of us spend time interacting in the Forum sections, especially at BP. I didn’t know there was a problem with @mentions feature, but glad to know it will work properly.

Thank you for all of your hard work, and making the Nest so “user friendly” and easy to use!
