Lab attack timer

When I started, I had an hour on the timer. Now I just ran out of all birds’ energies and the timer says 40 mins left. Does that mean I can resume play in 40 minutes, or do I have to start over?
I can’t exit this level or I lose all progress, so I can’t play normal game till then. Bummer.

I never ran out of time, but I believe it says “Invasion Failed” the same happens when all your birds are defeated

There is no energy consumption for lab invasions, but you lose if all your birds run out of health.
