1GB? Mine is 109 or 110 MB. After playing and doing live events and such, that may go up by about 40 MB or so. What I do, on occasion, is save the game (both via Facebook and via Helium, locally), I clear all of the game data, then restore my saved game from Facebook. I do the Helium backup, just in case something goes wrong with Facebook. That way, I have a redundant backup.

After I restore the game, I’m at 109 or 110 MB again and have my game progress intact.

I’m comfortable with this process, and am willing to accept ‘disaster’, if my backups fail and all of my progress is lost forever. So I’d only suggest doing this process, if you’re comfortable with accepting ‘disaster’ also. But I’ve been doing this for about a year and haven’t had an issue yet… knock on wood.
