@westdc Have you searched this site for the info? I found this & don’t know if it will help, but if it does here it is: https://www.angrybirdsnest.com/angry-birds-ultimate-backup-tutorial-for-all-platforms/#PC

I wish you much luck & hope you’re successful. I play on a not rooted Motorola Android phone & from all I’ve read with this Android version (I imagine tweaked by my cell phone provider) & my phone’s manufacturer, at this point, it’s IMPOSSIBLE for me to back-up so that I can eventually restore my progress to a different device : -(.

I need to look further into rooting & it seems I may be ” forced” to do so. I say forced because I want to be able to backup & restore all of my ABO, ABS, ABR, ABSp, ABSW & ABSW II progress, but the necessary access Developers need to create apps is apparently restricted. With an earlier version of Android & different phone manufacturer many Apps’ Developers could write an app to access the various games scores, but now, unless something has changed, it’s not possible.

Yes, I’ve followed those instructions found the files but the games will not load the data

@westdc, unfortunately, you need someone a lot more knowledgable than me. Maybe one of the Admins will pop in & see this. I haven’t read thru the above info for PCs, but recall that with older Android versions & restores, the instructions always said we need to actually play a level before restoring prior scores. Do PC instructions require this step?

I’m also wondering if the data is stored in a diffident file structure with Win8 vs XP3. I know when I upgraded my Quicken software from that which ran on XP to Win7, the backed data had to be “converted” for the new software to read it (with prior versions this wasn’t necessary,) of course the Quicken software did this on it’s own once I answered a prompt question.

Thank you and I understand – The files are the same in win8 as xp – I’m playing a level now to see if that helps but unlike Quicken there is no place in the came to restore or backup – Hopefully someone who has done it will stop bye of an admin will move this topic to a better place

@westdc For your Windows 8 device, is the issue that you cannot locate the desired folder to transfer the .lua files into?

No-I can locate the files and folders in Win8.1 and have copied the old files (as the link implies) to the new folders – The Games Don’t pick up the files and all are show new 0/0 .

My problem is I can’t get the new games to update from the old files.

I suspect that you might not be in the correct location.

As a way of testing this, play Poached Eggs Level 1-1 and beat it. If you exit out of the game and go to the file location, there should be a few .lua files appearing (highscores.lua and settings.lua, at least).

I’ll test it out and let you know
