Is there an article that goes with that? I’m curious if the robot is just replaying a programmed sequence of movements or if there’s a camera in there somewhere and some programmed AI.

Although the robot got only two stars, it’s way better than a cat playing Angry Birds!

Like all experimental machines it’s not perfect but I admire the optical processing required for the robot to make its own decision and to translate its machine decision into human-like arm movements in order to execute said task.

Something we humans find simple to do (move arm, slide finger across screen, release to fling) is challenging to define in mechanical terms.

Pigineering could do a writeup of these bird flinging robots someday. Considering King Pig is a fan of the giant robot movie “Porkcific Rim” :D
