Hello All,
Hoping Hank will answer this, as any player would probably just be speculating.
Before the BirdDay update, one of the complaints about opponent mismatches was that it was random whether you’d be matched up against someone who doesn’t spend money / gems on spells (i.e. just the standard birds), or someone who was gunning for a 500 feather 7th win in a row, and thus threw all five spells at a level.
Now, you *never* see an opponent using spells in the Arena…. at least not visibly. However, I often go into a match with a 20x or better multiplier (i.e. I have a cumulative 126 multipliers between all levels, hats and slings, and sometimes my opponent has as low as 90 multipliers)…. only to ace almost every shot yet be beaten by someone who races past me on the last bird by a couple million points.
So, my question is, how are opponents’ spells accounted for in the scoring, now that they are never shown either before the match or as “remaining birds” during the match? Surely we’re not all playing ONLY against matches where no spells were selected by the opponent, so how can we tell what spells we might want to use, if we don’t know what our opponent has picked?
