What Are the Hardest Angry Birds Levels of ALL-TIME? We Want Your Opinion!

agree. it’s the only level in ABO i can remember having looked at the walkthrough pages to see whether what i had come up with myself was wrong or not (had been scoring only into the low 120ks, enough for 2 but not 3 stars). as it turned out i was doing everything ok, but ‘just’ hadn’t gotten enough destruction yet, after an hour of play. that being said, it is clear that there can be different things that make a level hard. in this case, the strategy was pretty obvious, but not only was its execution hard (needed precision), it still needed lots of patience.

wrt execution. back then i was just throwing birds without thinking much, which doesn’t give a lot of consistency, consistency much needed in this level to hit both shots. only later have i taken to, e.g., using the slope of the sling (for getting consistency in aiming birds), looking at the background (for when to reverse the boomerang bird), and speeding up the yellow bird immediately. although even after that getting precision just with your eyes and fingers on a tablet is sometimes hard, i find it enjoyable in the same way that training for sports is; you improve by adjusting, start noticing more and more details. (replayed M&D 17-7 a bit just now to check. it still took me a few minutes to adjust again (i don’t keep a record of strategies on top of the comments here at ABN) but after that both shots were easily repeatable and with that getting 3 stars as well.)

wrt patience, i find (partially) self-destructing levels hard to play for the sheer boredom involved; repetition without action (a good reason for looking in such cases for restart sequences to provoke the self-destruction; still it is annoying to play since restarting the game not only is tedious but, on ios, also leads to stopping any music you’re playing at the same time; ABO grabs the sound even if you have switched it off in the game, a bug in my opinion). e.g. i still have not been able to get myself to ‘play’ the 0-bird strategy for Danger Above 6-9. (what’s the fun in waiting for, say, a 1 when throwing a 1000-sided dice; given that it’s fair it will happen; no skill involved.) it’s a good thing that, afaik, waiting for self-destruction is never strictly needed to 3-star a level.

wrt strategy finding, finding the best one is the real fun part of the game to me, so the harder the better! e.g. it was very satisfying, for me, to think of the 1-bird strategy for AB Free Level 15-3, despite that (or because of?) after thinking of it it took a solid day of flinging before i got it to work only once. i don’t recall a level where a 3-star strategy was really hard to find except for M&D level 17-4, which needs the reverse boomerang shot; finding the latter took me quite some time but then was a real eye-opener and made me revisit other levels to see whether that shot was useful for them as well.
