We’re excited to announce the biggest Angry Birds Space update to date is now available for iOS, PC, Mac, and Android via Google Play (Android Market) and Amazon (read the note about this below) with other platforms coming online soon.
Amazon Users: Many users are reporting that this update deletes their existing progress. Proceed with caution! and possibly turn off automatic updates for right now. Before updating be sure to backup your progress. For help with that you can check out our Ultimate Angry Birds backup tutorial (Android can be a bit trickier to backup, but it is doable).
Further Update: As of 9 August, it appears that Rovio and Amazon have solved this issue. We still encourage you to backup your data, just to be safe, but all seems to be well again.
This (v1.2.2) update includes a bunch of goodies, which we’ve broken down below:
- 20, yep 20!, brand new levels in Utopia!
- Ten bonus “Space Egg” levels unlocked for each 10-levels you 3-star (basically, one per page of levels)! That is, if you 3-star levels 1-1 through 1-10 of Pig Bang, you unlock Bonus Egg S-1. So to date, there are 3 bonus levels in Pig Bang, 3 in Cold Cuts, 1 in Fry Me to the Moon, and 3 in Utopia. Sorry, none in Danger Zone, which is sort of expected since it is not universally available.
- Orange Bird! He has a cool new outfit, but his behavior is pretty much identical to the other apps. Sorry, no backstory into how he made it into Space, but we are glad he’s here! It’s also neat to see how he flails about after deflating. Space isn’t going to be kind to the newest member of the flock.
- Antenna Egg! The shoot-able “Antenna Egg” vaporizes and explodes surrounding items and is available in the bonus “Space Egg” levels. From what we can tell it seems to be quite powerful., so proceed with caution.
- 2 new Golden Eggsteroids! Be sure to check out our complete Eggsteroids guide, which will be updated soon.
- 3 new achievements in Game Center, so be sure to check out our Angry Birds Space achievements page.
- Update: The Score Addict achievement thresholds for Pig Bang and Cold Cuts have been raised to reflect the three “bonus” levels added to these episodes. We have updated the achievements page and leaderboards to reflect this change. Note that if you had already earned the achievement, it will not be taken away from you.
- Boss fight! We assume that this takes place in the last level of Utopia and may be against the “Fat Pig”
The Space Eagle is Now Available for Amazon Users!
Android user are now able to purchase the Space Eagle and Danger Zone via the Amazon Appstore! Everything seems to be similar to the Google Play release of these features in v1.2.1, so definitely check out that post for details. Between that release post and our fantastic Space Eagle guide, we should be able to answer every question you have about these features.

S-3 is probably my most favorite level to date. Having to gravity bomb the stones to the adjacent orbit to gravity bomb them into the pigs is just genius.
it first, it thought that using eggs in slingshot was idiotic idea and rovio would NEVER do it. I was wrong then
I can’t play it yet so i have some questions:
Did they update the splash screen to have orange bird?
Does the new levels contain king pig again?
the loading screen does not have OB. not king pig, just fat pig
I just played the levels and you’re wrong about 2. One of the Eggsteroids has 4 king pigs in it.

The eggs make BIRD sounds?! When I was playing S-1 I heard bird sounds when they are waiting in the slingshot. Has anyone else noticed?

Well I guess This 27th July became more special… My birthday is today and I am loving playing these hard but yummy levels. in addition to popcorn, candy i now have Orange bird and Antenna egg!!! though antenna egg levels seem lot harder than other levels.
Always count on Update Day to save you with 32 new levels!

On PC. Why it change mouse scroll effect? mean using mouse scroll to change level or episode.

Agreed. This was one of the hardest updates they’ve had yet. I had more problems getting three stars than I did with DZ, both for the Utopia levels and the Antenna bird levels.
Got 10 Space Eagles for 3 starring Fry Me to the Moon (After finishing Space Egg) & Utopia. Didn’t get the bonus eagle’s for re-three starring all of Pig Bang & Cold cuts though (Space Egg Levels). Bummer. :(
You were probably awarded those previously. The 10 for 3-starring Fry may have been a system glitch in your favor.
I have tha Android version, so I never got the bonus Eagles for the first two planets prior. Figured still wasn’t going to get them after finishing the egg levels and no eagles, so it was a nice surprise when I finished FMTTM again.

Who will be the next main villain?
In pig bang and cold cuts,the king pig stole the eggsteroid.
In fry me to the moon,moustache pig abducted the space egg.
In utopia,the fat pig ate ice bird’s eggsteroid.
In danger zone, some civillian pigs infested the place will things that look like underwater mines.
So who will we battle next? Chef pig? Helmet pig? King pig comes back for revenge? Time for guessing!

Amazon was/is an odd case. When I had my Android device, I could always count on getting the Rio updates ahead of every other platform, but for the other versions, not so much. Lag time was usually from a couple hours to a couple days.

How about the name Eggonators for the egg-shaped detonators (in the bonus levels) that seem to open up a mini black hole as they implode/activate? Any other good names floating around out there? (pun intended)

“Baby Eagles” – They do the same as the Space Eagles, but on a much smaller scale!
I personally call them BH Eggs (BH for Black Hole). Eggonators does sound like a good name though ;)

Looks like they’ve did a tribute to the London 2012 Olympics!
Honesty, I didn’t get the Olympic reference at first. I only got it when the official Angry Birds Twitter account tweeted it. The planet’s the black ring, the kernels the yellow rings, the bushes the green ring, ice for the blue ring, and search lights for the red rings. Very clever indeed.
Something weird in this update I see a eggstroid when I defeat fat pig on the last level I hit It and no level in the eggstroid :/
That just symbolizes the Ice Bird’s eggsteroid, you got it back after defeating Fat Pig.
Because it’s Ice Bird’s egg.

@AMslimfordy I think I have a bug . I have 3 star Ftm also the Ftm bonus levels and I got the achievement for cold cuts (chapter 2 -total destruction)
Could just be appearing delayed.

Not yet. There hasn’t been any evidence from Rovio that they will exist, but that doesn’t mean they won’t either. So all we can say is “not at this time”.
There is a well drawn piece of fan art that has been circulating. That might be part of the confusion.

Hey, Slim. You have done some mistake. You are telling “Both Utopia and Piglantis now available for PC.” But it’s not realeased yet. See the AB Online shop. There is AB Seasons Cherry Blossom. Why not Piglantis
It’s only the thumbnail. If you click “Download Free Demo” and the number version is v2.4.1, it means that Piglantis is available. I’m using PC and have the latest version.
Piglańis is indeed available via the Rovio shop. You can check the release dates in our updates log. There, you can see Piglantis landed for PC on 15 June, the day after iOS.
The Antenna Egg is so strong just imagine what it will be like when it hatches.
