I am back on my own team again of ABGOCHAMPS (private team) because when i awoke it said i wasnt on a team … hehe
….i assumed i got the boot ;) i miss the rivalry too but any good racers join my team and the 1st place curse kicks in!

@phoenix6 — seems logical since ANGRYCAT score hasnt changed in a long time. I speculate he/she/they ran into tech problems but since we’ve never learned of their true identity we might never know.

I did the unthinkable but what a good captain would do for his platoon. I fell on a grenade to keep his team safe …so yes … I joined the rival VUKS team and put them at 791+ thousand and in the #1 ranking spot … yup only in this game is it a penalty to be #1

So the road is clear my man! @phoenix6 get your goal achieved quickly … go get that ANGRYCAT and become the #1 racer in the game! You deserve it! Go … Go Fast !

PS … with Bella & Vuks splitting their team into two, Bella is now the team captain of VUKS. I expect I’ve bought you till morning time in Europe where she and Vuks racer live. Given it’s 1 or 2 am there now … you’ve got 6 to 8 hours of racing … the VUKS team now can’t race … curse of the #1 rank.

I’ve given up on this app. I’m playing other racing games now. I tried to disband the ABGOCHAMPS team this morning. I got all players off the team. Disbanded it. Game crashed. I went back into game and the team was 100% back as though it didn’t happen. Lord knows what this means to anyone trying to race now!

Update: After another 20 minutes of fighting with the app, the ABGOCHAMPS team is gone … I may return to team multi-player racing should Rovio update the game and fix bugs. Given their tech support keep saying they don’t plan to fix the current multiplayer release, it could be a long hiatus. So many start and stops with this game, this is good-bye. It’s see you later
PS…if anyone setups up ABGOCHAMPS racing team, I want 10% of all golden eggs earned as royalty..hahahaha…I’m not as greedy as King Pig, he wants them all :)

After 10 hours of waiting for the game to send me Phoenix’s request to join my private ABGOCHAMPS team, I gave up. It took me 3 attempts but the game allowed me to disband the team one more time. Early this morning (have no idea why I’m awake so early!) I re-created a public version of ABGOCHAMPS again.

Likely this means iOS users might have to wait most of today to join me. Android users might see the team available right away.

Join me or don’t join me. At this time, do what you feel is best for your playing experience. I am not going to be very active racer or captain as if I fill a team with 10 good racers, no one will be able to play due to this #1 ranking bug.

So yeah…let’s have fun racing for #2 ? That Austin Powers “who does number 2 work for?” toilet drowning scene pops into my half awake head … I guess not even for one milllllon dollars will Rovio fix this game for us :)

I share link back to @vuks forum topic as I got the answer from Rovio and don’t want to repeat myself. Not surprising to me, they have no plans to fix the game.

@vuks – I wrote Rovio support about the number #1 ranking issue telling them we have proof that the connection error message happens specifically for this group 100% of the time. They told me they have no plans to fix team multiplayer within ABGO! and the developers are only working on future updates of this game and other Rovio games.

They apologized and said they know it impacts top players like us and recognize it must be frustrating. (If that were true, they would do something about it but they’re banking on us being loyal enough fans that we will put up with their incompetent ways.

So, as you likely saw on the leaderboard, last night, I’ve disbanded my public team in frustration. I created a private team in hopes that I could control who can join by accepting requests. I did so rougly 12 hours ago and know of teammates who wanted to re-join me. Naturally, none of the messages came through the app to me to accept them. So, I’m stuck with a decision to keep the team public (which I will likely do cause I’m a sucker for punishment!) or quit the game indefinitely since racing for #2 spot is not my style :)

In that case, I’m going to disband the public team ABGOCHAMPS and replace it with a private team ABGOCHAMPS. All of you are welcome to join it as I will accept your requests when I see them. I do worry the mailbox figure on this game is very unstable. I often get messages very very late. Therefore, please send a private message on this site to me should you be waiting long for my accepting of your request

I have no issue in what you both are trying to do. The game is programmed so badly that i take no offense to anyone trying to enjoy it.

Steve said he setup a private team. The only way you can join is either he invites you as friend through facebook or possibly you can request to join and he accepts. Can you let me know if you can request to join? I wanted to setup my team as private but worried i had to have all on facebook to do so. I might switch my team setup if you can request cause i hate all the newbies joining and hackers that cause these team issues.

I have never joined a team in this game as i was one of the first captains who gained a following through this forum :)

I can race now too BUT phoenix left the team and it put us to #2 in standings so maybe it is the curse of #1 ranking that Vuks wrote about earlier today on his forum topic? Insane if that is the case … guess we have to break up both teams from 2 to 4!

I’m not worrying about it today for it’s time for me to race in my dreams

UPDATE: Since many of you don’t have a lot of positive news to say about Salla @ Rovio Support and I had good fortune with her fixing my account, I’ve decided to open a ticket on everyone’s behalf to see if I get anything better than the responses many of you received. Fingers crossed!

After a half dozen attempts, i removed todays unwanted racers. Each time the game crashed Old School disappeares from list then seconds later appeared again. I also cant race right now with the dreaded online message.

@vuks … everything is working for us since we changed and created our new team. We have had problems went hacked account join us. It takes away the ability to race for all team members. As captain, i try to remove and game crashes. Eventually the game lets me remove them and the connection to race restores. I am eager to fill the team with 10 trustworthy racers. I have 7 back. 1 doesnt join us yet due loss of progress and 2 retired in frustration. Two spots open. I noticed @bluebear was a teammate for brief time while you fix your setup

Okay … so just to see what would happen, I banished ABGO56 returning to the 5 of us and immediately the racing started to work again. Therefore, I guess there are racers that are still hacking the game and this causes the error. I do notice on the individual leaderboard a new leader HALJESTEMJS with 8,898,872 eggs. Clearly a hacker that made it back to leaderboard. Its been months that Ive seen hacked scores after Rovio did a pretty good job to clean this up (even though it took them forever to deal with it!)

So whether ABGO56 was cause of the problem or not, he or she appeared to be a legit racer from his or her license stats. Also, last weekend when I was using v1.8.7, he`or she was racing and accumulating golden eggs through racing at same time I was doing so.

This cant be all a coincidence but I cant figure this game app logic out! Then again … the folks that created it have no ***expletive deleted *** clue either!

@oldschool … are you having similar problems as @janmej and @alcusto … hope you return to us … your 78 thousand puts us over the 800 thousand and without it we`re stuck behind the VUKS for second place

@rhonda90402 … it`s okay to give credit to @phoenix6 as the mastermind behind the team… I would rather be known as the good looking one of the team anyway … no way I can handle the pressure of being both :D haha

Seems the team is available again “to everyone” and the newbies have joined it.

This morning, I raced with you 5 team members and the rest of spots not filled. Now, all 10 were filled and I banished the bottom 4 cause they do not meet the ABGOCHAMPS required of driver license 25 (ABGO56 is back on the team cause he/she has 12,000+ even though he/she isn’t someone I know or to my knowledge isn’t on this forum)

The worst is that after I banished everyone, I can’t race. The “must be online to proceed” message comes up immediately when trying to race. This morning, it was only received one my first attempt to race but going back into multiplayer a 2nd time, I could race to get to 206,602 before taking a break (I miss the unlimited Senna Birds from v1.8.7 now forced to cycle through all birds again!).

I’m now wondering if the “corruption of multiplayer” is tied to my decision to remove these newbie teammates. The game crashed on me after my first banishment. Then I banished everyone and the game screen went blank and app closed without warning. When I went back in, those banished were back and you guys were all gone! Then I moved forward to race and got the error message to be online to proceed came up and it returned me back to normal team page with you 5 plus ABGO56 on it.

All of what I describe is not normal behavior you’d expect the app to do. I’m now concerned I’ve corrupted our team.

I’ll give it some time to see if it’s just bad luck on my end and you all can race.

@alcusto aha damn it … you might get luck with trying to grab the cloud data if you close the app my shutting off phone vs exiting game normally. Other than that, the restore might work but no guarantee how far their backups go. Salla can push the backup to your device but i had to uninstall the game and go to the rovio account website and sign in there then close it, reinstall app, login into rovio account and the data restored. Hope it doesnt take as long for you

I am racing multi-player now on the Chinese new year update without that ‘must be online to proceed’ error Reacquired the monkey kart too.
I have the old version 1.8.7 version archived should things screw up again.

I hope another Android users finds the team @alcusto? My guess is iPhone users have to be patient for the cross platform logic on rovio’s server synchronize … its clearly not a real time synchronization.

It’s just Phoenix and I on the team right now so it must not be available to everyone else for some reason.

This said, team ABGOCHAMPS exists on the leaderboard (for me). We’re already #2 in the world with just this racing duo. Our score is actually right too with 413,755 :)

I don’t know if it matters when searching for the team but ABGOCHAMPS is in all CAPS in the game.

Hope to see you all soon … hehe … it’s been a while since we blew up the team and recreated it ! From ABGOFAST to ABGOFASTER to ABGOFORIT to ABGOCHAMPS :)

Edit – Update:
My theory on why the team was available immediately to @phoenix6 but not yet to @stevep and @rhonda90402 is twofold:

1. Android users vs iphone users. I bet it takes time for the integration between devices to get updated in Rovio’s behind-the-scene setup of this game
2. @phoenix6 and I are both using old version of the app game. I wonder if this also causes delays as the versions of game sync together with player information to the database files

Hi team

I setup ABGOCHAMPS as public team so anyone can and will join … I wanted to setup as a private team but it will only allow me to invite people I’m friends with on facebook. Since that’s only a few of you, I didn’t want to go through that step. It was intriguing option cause I’m tired of all the wannabe champions joining our team but it limits new members that come along (I’m not a facebook user but have an account solely for this game!)

We’ll test the theory that a new team will help cause ABGOFORIT is gone! BTW…by myself, with 206,000 golden eggs, I’m the #11 team in the world!!! Yeah…if I don’t brag for myself who will?

@stevep … please give it a try and unretire one more time for your captain…third times a charm right?:DDD
