This was happening 18 months ago, i uninstalled it then re-installed it and  worked fine all this time, but since the last update that brought the videos back, it has  started again

now within a few seconds of it loading, it crashes to desk, so it’s totally unplayable

Well yesterday it worked fine for the first time in 4 months, i even did the daily challenge and posted a score in bootcamp but today i can’t even turn  cards of the first common chest, (seconds after logging in)

before it dramatically slows down and i quickly have to find the x in the corner before the pc freezes, i tried to persist with the 3rd, that’s 20 gems i won’t get back

the thing is there were 2 big windows and 1 browser update on friday (ab2 didn’t work on friday after the updates but did work on saturday after no updates)

how does that work ? :/ thumbs down

Well after 3 months, on wednesday the game suddenly started working fine, the next day there were a load of windows updates and a browser update so i feared the worst, but no it was still fine, the next day, another browser update and still fine and still fine yesterday

but today the game is completely broken again, the only thing different is that i updated my audio driver, that may be it but still completely ridiculous X(

“So there was an update to AB2 windows version and a pop up message saying a new arena was available.  Unable to access it, says “something went wrong” but I am guessing that the windows version has the same arena as the apple/android arena?  Since the arena goes Sunday to Sunday again my guess is that it won’t be accessible until next Sunday?

I figured that they would change the arena eventually, was holding out hope they wouldn’t.  Guess that makes all versions the same?”

 

I got that message when i loaded it up today, trouble is i got no update and there isn’t one listed in ma  store and anyway after the new arena message, a few seconds later it slowed dramatically but i was just able to get my mouse pointer to the corner of the screen, reveal the x button and click it before the pc froze, so thats nearly 2 months  i’ve not been able to play :\

Sorry to keep spamming but yesterday i cleared my browser cache (even though it’s set to clear after close) 215 bytes and the game worked fine

today after a windows 10 update and a browser update and clearing the cache just in case (215 bytes) aaaaand it’s broken again, after running very slowly for about 5 seconds it freezes and after a few more seconds, a ctd :face palm emoji

Ok, less than 1 day later and the game is completely broken again, there have been no windows or browser updates, so what has changed ?

The ads weren’t the problem, because the game didn’t get far enough for watching ads, it would login and run very slowly for between 5-15 seconds and IF i got far enough to open a chest or turn a tof card or 2 and then get the pig, it didn’t offer any ads (gems only) and then it would ctd

but today i logged in and it seemed to run normally and i noticed a notification on the mail box which stated the face book issues are now fixed (5000 rainbiw feathers and a legendary chest compenstion)

the game now runs fine 🙄 although still not offering ads.

and no i don’t even have a face book account

Yesterday there were some windows updates and a browser update and i went back to the latest nvidia driver and i could play the game fine, (after 5 days)

but today there have been no new windows or browser updates and i checled nvidia update (nothing new there) now the game doesn’t work again, how is that explainable :facepalm

Well now i’ve not been able to play for 2 days, i dropped my nvidia driver down to 496.76, the last stable (for me) driver that xcom worked on and that works fime, but not ab 2 unfortunately

It’s been working fine for a couple of months now but for the last couple of days there has benn some freezing/ctd – ing mainly when playing videos, however this may be due to moving my nvidia driver up to 497,29, (xcom enemy wihin is crashing now too and that was fine before) it was working fine on 496.xx

I find if you keep windows up to date and especially your browser, (even more especially if firefox) the game works o.k

a problem i’ve found today however, there is a football hat event started, i already had chucks hat from a rare chest a couple of weeks ago and i got red and blues fooball hats in the tof today

but i can’t use them in the adventure, even tho i’ve set them to wear them, (they are greyed out), confusing >_<

Well i’ve been quite surprised that it’s been working fine for more than 3 weeks, apart from the last few days when it’s been either not offering videos and or immedietely ctding the first 1-3 times logging in but then working fime, including earlier today, but now it’s completely broken again and i couldn’t post a score in bootcamp

as for moving on, i have 2 windows devices, 1 only about 3 years old but neither of them will run win 11, so i won’t be downloading / playing any version on that  anyway, the android version still works fine so i’ll just play that ^^

Yes it is and unlike the message recieved in birdmail that it has been fixed, it hasn’t been fixed for everybody, because yesterday i was in equal 5th place with 19 frame points and the top place was about 21 or 22 points

then after posting a score of about 29m for the second day in a row, which is worth another 19 frame points, i am about equal 58th place still on 19 points and the top place has 26 points, so clearly some players have been awarded points, but not everybody, it makes it very difficult to compete >_<

And that’s the point entirely, if they don’t talk about it then they must have abanoned it, (the windows ver sion that is).

The jet pack run or apple hunt, is on the windows version atm, which has appeared twice in the last few months and no i have never seen it on the android version since i joined, i think last december

We know Rovio has stopped supporting the Apple IOS. How about the windows 10 platform?

The first sentence is clearly asking about the apparent abandonment of the windows 10 platform, the only meantion of any other platform is the meantion of apple ios, (in the past tense) and nowhere in that post does it meantion android.

Well atm there is an apple hunt event on the windows version, wether this is deliberate or procedral generation is up for debate.

The opening post in this thread is about the windows version, so this is the right place

my point is that rovio has more than likely stopped work on this version as i first downloaded it in, i think feburary and there have been no updates, afair

and all the crashes i’m reporting are from it being blind luck if the game works after a windows update or not, however the game always works fine while the pc is not connected to the internet, so obviously rovio are not keeping thier netcode up to date and hoping the next windows update fixes the problem

that’s if they are aware, (or care) about the problem

Edit: i downloaded the android version last year, i think at the begining of december and there have been at least 4 updates since then, the last small one was in, i think july

My old samsung android tablet works fine with angry birds 2. No crashes. Just fyi.

Yeah and my Android phone version works fine too, but i am talking about the windows version fyi

speaking of which, it started slowing again today and then crashed requiring a reset, but i logged back in and it was fine again allowing me to finish everything i needed to for the day.

My pc version suddenly started working again today, no crashes at all, even offered videos for extra stuff, all of which played fine

 

it’s the same every month, the first 2-3 weeks, it doesn’t offer videos and crashes every 20-30 seconds, either to desk or total freeze needing a reset

although it works fine in offline mode but not while connected to the internet

Then why bother keeping it in the MS store ?

i lost 1000 feathers today (feather frenzy) after feeding the hatchling. i gave the feathers to Terrance, he went up a level, got feather bonus +1700, the game then immediatly crashed and after logging back in, the hatchling had been fed but Terrance had reset back to the level and xp he was before.

the other day i spent my last 500 black pearls on the last camping hat, i got the annimation for the catapult upgrading, the game then crashed and after logging back in the pearls had been spent but the hat had not been acquired and thats not the first time i’d failed to aquire it, idk why i bother >_<

I didn’t make it clear, i use win 10 pc, win 10 tablrt and android phone, the win 10 version worked fine up until about may and still does while offline but rarely online

the android version works fine all the time, haveing said that 1 of the times i logged in today it got stuck in a feedback loop giving my birds the straw hat (which i’ve owned for ages) and upgrading the catapult and wouldn’t stop until i force closed it

tho that could’ve been something to do with todays update, come on rovio, get your **** together

The game worked fine up until the mebc season ended at the end of may / begining of june time, (see my thread “Constant crashing”)

after that the game works about 1 week in 4, (not necessarily 7 days in a row), i play on pc and tablet and they don’t work at the same time either

however they both work while not connected to the internet, so all you can do is play the campaign, the dc and kpp, oh and open chests but not the main modes, so pretty useless

and now (on Android) the last 2 days, mebc no longer gives frame points, it doesn’t even give the fanfare splash screen with the top 3 players

but i expect they still want you to buy gem packages :/

There was a windows update today and after 2 weeks of the game working fine, it is now broken again, to the point of total freezing after 5-10 seconds requiring a hard reset.

 

So it’s offline play again for a while, so no tof or boot camp FFS, thx

Edit: a few days ago it suddenly started working on my pc again, but now it started crashing on my windows tablet, first by not playing videos for extra cards or rare chests at best to crashing to windows at worst

and today i entered boot camp and just as the 1st room loaded up and 2 birds appeared in the corner it crashed and when i went back in i had posted a score of zero, so there was no way i was going to risk 60 gems to try again, ffs optemize your game
