    I’ve done it once– the opponent gets the win and the player is pushed to buy an extra bird. I’ll check to see if I still have the screenshot

    @sarai they’d have done me a favour if they banned my account. Any company that’s operating on this self-serving ethical level doesn’t deserve my time, attention, and especially not my money.

    @ddeck well said, and as a former game developer (I quit that career as soon as I learned what the nature of the job is like and went into the business sector instead), you hit the nail on the head with remarkable accuracy. Something changed part-way on the path and Rovio swung down into the sleazy depths of groveling for nickel-and-dime revenue, aka like gambling/addiction lords. This is usually the doing of management/ownership. The excellent fact that you pointed out that they don’t even care to PR in this group anymore is a shining example of how it’s no longer about their game.

    This whole ‘different games for different players’ was the biggest red flag that they are f**king with their client base in a less-than-honest way. But like I mentioned above, the undefined implications in their EULA and their wanting access to my personal contacts was enough to tell what they are doing is not entirely over the wire. I almost wish I captured a screenshot of when the message popped up with Rovio requesting access to the points above… but now that I’ve uninstalled the game I want nothing more to do with them.

    @rawdatasystems It’s more for me observing the continual stream of problems other players are facing- and the new fockery Rovio tries update after update is at a point where it’s stooped so ridiculously low that it’s become amusing.

    Recall I started playing this game from day 1 so I’ve seen (and been on) this less-than-wild ride from one of the top gaming apps to a poor excuse for gambling greed enforcement. I walked away after having accumulated 1000+ spells in the bank, bird levels in the 100s, player level 100+, almost all hats, etc… all of which I got by sinking hundreds of hours and grinding the app to collect… only to realize it’s all worthless in the long run because Hovio just keeps changing the rules mid-game to pander to its own goals.

    @djlarryt

    See my post on why I walked away from this crappy game once and for all.

    Why I left AB2 and everything Rovio touches

    If you don’t feel like reading, essentially my phone got hacked so I installed a privacy app that alerted me when something tried to access components of my device. To my shock, when I booted up AB2, a request popup came that the game wanted access to:
    – my personal contacts
    – my FB usage
    – my network
    – my AppleID (including other games)
    – my internet history

    So now Rovio is scanning your device for OTHER apps you may be using? There’s something about privacy to be said here and someone needs to blow the whistle on Rovio.

    DJLarryt
    @djlarryt

    Because $$$$.

    That’s why. Remember, Rovio doesn’t care if you enjoy their game or not. If you’re not lining their pockets you are no good to them.

    DJLarryt
    @djlarryt

    @birdpower Remember every time you complete watching an ad, Rovio gets a kickback of $x.00 provided by AdChoices or whomever is paying them to host their spam.

    They can make more money by running ads than they can by you buying (or not) their in-game items. So now you are being forced to sacrifice your bandwidth, gaming experience, and time so that Rovio can squeeze another buck out of its player base.

    I walked away from this game a few weeks ago for this reason. It’s a fun game, but no way is it worth this.

    @djlarryt

    Great idea @rawdatasystems. I’m off to iTunesStore to rate the game :)

    DJLarryt
    @djlarryt

    @pomme Maybe copy/paste your experience in my current thread called “Farewell, Flingers”. Maybe if enough people get fed up with the game as you and I did, and it’s recorded in a single thread, someone at Rovio will read it, wake up and figure out that maybe they’re ruining their product for the sake of greed.

    Or, we may save an innocent newcomer from jumping headfirst into the pit of impossible gaming return.

    DJLarryt
    @djlarryt

    Haha, no @datguygamer, but I decided to do something about it now ;)

    DJLarryt
    @djlarryt

    @falconfalcon You are right, and it’s just going to continue onto infinity. I got one of my birds pretty high (remember I’ve been playing since day 1) and the classification was “You have upgraded (bird) to Legendary”. Legendary what? Rovio hadn’t even named the class yet, which means as soon as players start getting close to this level (and judging by some of the people in Arena I’ve encountered who have bird levels of 135 and higher, they are already reaching it), Rovio will just take 5 minutes and pop another name in the dB with another skill value.

    I’m sure if I hadn’t deleted my apps and checked back in say, in a year, I would see another x amount of new hats and insane amount of BPs required to get them. Pay-to-play.

    But my real beef is the privacy issue I mentioned above. Rovio needs to see my personal contacts, my internet usage, and my other Apple Games in order for me to play their stupid game? What for?

    This is simply clawed marketing greed thinly disguised as a fun game. The exchange isn’t balanced, you give a lot more than you get when playing Rovio apps.

    DJLarryt
    @djlarryt

    @rawdatasystems I’m wondering how long it’s going to take for every last drop of fun to be squeezed out of playing it, and the game to become nothing more than a bunch of buttons to pay gems/ watch ads. It’s almost at that point now.

    BTW today’s DC is another 4-5-5 (be prepared to waste all your birds on wave 3.4) with a KP that is +1000000 health and +1000000 gravity so he lands on the trampolines and bounces in one place up and down for eternity. I decked him with every possible rock setup in that screen AND with 4 birds, life bar wasn’t even down to 1/2. One of those was a direct hit from Bomb at his starting position which didn’t even budge him nor inflict any damage.

    Gave up after 2 tries. Not worth the time, the effort NOR the money.

    DJLarryt
    @djlarryt

    I agree, DC was reasonable today but KPP is 100% impossible.

    1st Boss is a battery-drainer because KP gravity is cranked up to +10000 meaning he bounces straight up and down for eternity and no matter how many times you send that rock shower at him he never seems to budge. one. bit. So unless you get in there with an arsenal of birds or gem$ or both, be prepared to sit there staring at the screen unless you can make direct hits with all your ammo.

    2nd boss made me ragequit the game. It’s another one of those lousy screens where one wrong push and KP ends up in a dead zone surrounded by fireman pigs. All the gem$ in the world won’t get you through this screen due to the fireman pigs so strategically placed. Don’t waste your time.

    BTW I even got there and THREE TIMES tried something that SHOULD have worked in the past but doesn’t now. I got to 2nd KP with (any bird), Silver and Hal. Use (any bird) to knock the pig off the platform. He will fall through the portal and land on the ledge. NOW BY RIGHTS you should be able to throw Hal up there and knock him back towards the slingshot BUT SURPRISINGLY Hal cannot knock him over or even roll him, he just hits him and stops dead.

    ONE TIME KP just started to drift over and I had Sliver ready to hit him upwards… however… even a DIRECT HIT by Silver did nothing. Again… KP is +100000 gravity so the pull downwards is so strong he will only ever hit the ground and sit there. Total BS.

    DJLarryt
    @djlarryt

    Monday’s DC: Wave 3 sucks all your birds away (5-room wave). KP is sitting on a platform that when broken, fans blow him into a dead zone where you have to pummel him to death. Gem$, Gem$, Gem$.

    Gave up first try. I’ve seen that crappy screen before and I’m not going to bother. And after slogging through a 4-5-5 who wants to pay to sit there and finish off that pig anyway?

    Oh and gem bonus for making it to KPP… imagine that.

    DJLarryt
    @djlarryt

    And today I played the Arena and was faced with someone who had every new valentine hat already.

    Why would I bother paying to upgrade my slingshot when there are tons of cheaters out there wrecking it for the rest of us? Who cares about moving up levels with the hats when all you’re going to meet is an opponent whose flock is fully stacked anyway?

    No thanks, I’ll pass.

    BTW the ‘Candyland Adventure”.. just the same screens as every other challenge. No candy anywhere to be seen :P Rovio could at least have come up with some neat-looking backgrounds for the event like they used to do in “AB Seasons” (which were pretty fun and cool)

    DJLarryt
    @djlarryt

    I’ve had times when I played the exact same opponent in the exact same set of screens and their score ends up different, which is why I think their PvP is a scam.

    I know I should have taken screenshots of this, but last week I was on the final leg of the win streak trying for the legendary chest.  Opponent already +150 strength level over mine.  First room was a single tower on a hill on the far right of the screen, apparently my opponent scored 13Million on it with Blues, which is impossible since it was made of wood and there’s not enough in that room for that many points, either.  When I struck it with my Blues (first bird as well) they bounced off and I scored near zero.

    At some point near the end I was given one of those slime flume screens where things just keep looping infinitum unless you hit them dead on with birds, and there were two pigs stuck in the flume, so needless to say I wasted about 4 birds in there.  My opponent had already used up their last card- and was sitting on a score of 62Million (to my 41 million, explain that).

    When I had one bird left, and my opponent was bird-less for a couple of rounds, suddenly WITHOUT ANY CARDS LEFT their score shot up to 75 Million.  Did they buy in and it was being held for the game to see if I bought in as well (which I did)?

    Either way pure BS- I wasn’t about to buy in again at 180 gems and not even be close to their score.  Again, no way we could possibly be playing the same screen.

    DJLarryt
    @djlarryt

    Gave up again today.  That’s 4/4 plays this week.  Tired of repeated DC boss levels where the KP just lands in a dead zone and you need an army of birds to barrage him to death, of course, all after a slew of preceding screens that just basically suck your birds away.  I think I’m going to take a break from this game for awhile.

    DJLarryt
    @djlarryt

    OK stop me if you’ve heard this one before: the first screen of a 6-screen DC finale takes 7 birds to clear….

    Just when I think I’ve experienced every depth of Rovio’s f*ckery, today’s DC comes along.

    They must be putting off so many players that they’re desperate for gem money….

    DJLarryt
    @djlarryt

    DC Monday January 28, 2019: Daily Gem bonus if you get to the KPP (that should tell you something right there).

    DC wave 3: 5 screens. 3x – 4x structures in each room made up of tons of little bricks with micropigs encased in blocks. Guaranteed to require 3x – 4x birds each screen to clear.

    Tried 3x, every time got to KP with one bird left, and it’s one of those screens where KP weighs 10,000 lbs (nothing budges him) so you need an arsenal of birds to strongarm him to defeat.

    Aka “Gem vaccuum”. Gave up after 3x tries as usual.

    DJLarryt
    @djlarryt

    Same old story: DC attempts 3x… 4 – 5 – 5 and on the final wave, screen 3/5 sucks off 5 birds and 4/5 anything I have left, with the miraculous surviving indestructible micropigs or the ‘suddenly useless’ bird powers (eg bomb hitting a pig and blowing up, and nothing is affected).

    Oh look, if I attempt KPP I get a gem reward- well without spending gems to finish the DC, I’ll never get that reward. Rovio, you are SO predictable.

    This game has rapidly become very tedious. I think I’m going to take a break from it for a few days.

    DJLarryt
    @djlarryt

    @rawdatasystems At least today I got a pig on the 4th floor, right before the bonus floor.  Things are improving somewhat, I guess. *insert eyeroll smilie here*

    DJLarryt
    @djlarryt

    @douglas Yeah I learned the hard way today.  Played AB2 for about 22 minutes- and in that time watched about 17 ads.  Not a good ratio of gameplay to time-sucking.

    Tried DC 3 times, all three of those times got there with full stock of birds.  All three of those times, ran out of birds (including the free video bird) and KP wasn’t even at half-life.  AND I used the bomb/Silver to knock him off the platform on first shot so it wasn’t like I was losing birds to that fireman pig sitting right in front of the slingshot.

    Gave up.  That makes playing this game 5 times this week and giving up DC 4/5 times.

    DJLarryt
    @djlarryt

    4th day in a row getting a pig on the 2nd floor, imagine that. I’m going to keep track of my progress over the next few days (that is, IF I play on the weekend, which I usually don’t, because I have better things to do).

    DJLarryt
    @djlarryt

    my ToF rule: Play until the first pig. Select your card and quit immediately thereafter.

    It’s like gambling… you will never win unless you pay BIG. And the prizes aren’t worth it. You know why? Because as soon as you spend all your gems trying to get that elusive new hat set, Rovio will just turn around and introduce another one, making your hat accomplishment worthless. The whole thing is a treadmill to keep you spending ca$h for Gem$.

    DJLarryt
    @djlarryt

    @sb311 Gave up on this DC today after 3 tries. That’s the 3rd DC I gave up on this week (and I only played 3/5 days). This whole thing has just become such a setup to create a gem deficit.
