    I don’t think there’s any pattern programmed in the location of the pig – it isn’t worth doing so given a random assignment will just be as effective. However, based on my experiments, there’s a tendency of the pig appearing in levels ending with a 4 or 9 which makes perfect sense as people are more willing to pay before a guaranteed jackpot (hats) level. Disregarding level 1 which has much smaller chance of revealing a pig, 911 out of 3646 openings were pigs, for a proportion of almost exactly 25%. Out of these, 350 out of 898 openings in levels X4 and X9 were pigs; this proportion is 39% and, if you’re willing to assume independence between levels and calculate a confidence interval, the lower bound is much higher than 25% at any reasonable confidence level. So next time don’t be surprised if you meet a pig just before reaching the hats – evidence has that this behaviour is programmed into the game.

    Yes you can get a pig in the first round. However this happens way less frequently than one in four on my machine. I think the 1st floor pig probability was tweaked for obvious reasons.

    For your second case I’d probably pay the 100, open the other card, and leave. Paying 70 gems for whatever accumulated to level 10-15 isn’t too much of a bad deal, and is definitely a wiser choice than risking revealing the 3rd pig which would cost 200 more.

    The problem is that soon enough you will have taken every of those hats and 10 pearls is next to nothing when it takes 12 hours of wait time. Maybe it’s something to take if it opens every hour, but 12 hours? Not really..

    @captsternn

    The first pig is always 20 gems for me (and most others), then 100, 200, 400, etc. Looks like they’re still testing it.

    @dpage

    As I said earlier they have likely buffed the tower, at least on some machines given that it looks like the tower’s being tested with people reporting differing features. I was able to do surprisingly well quite frequently at the start, but have been stopped lately before level 5. Like 4 out of 5 times there’s a pig popping out before level 5.

    @puttekula
    How much are u guys spending for this each day?

    0 or maybe 20. There are way too many pigs before level 10 (even 1/4 chance is high – that’s 2 pigs on average) which makes it pointless to go further.

    dpage
    @dpage

    It looks like they’ve “buffed” the tower in the past couple days – now I can hardly reach level 10 without seeing a pig (in fact, 4 of the last 10 plays had a pig pop out at level 2!). I don’t think this is wise, at least I don’t have any incentive to spend even 20 gems to keep playing.

    dpage
    @dpage

    Is there a pig on every level, or just certain ones?

    Yes there’s one on every level except those in multiples of 5. Once in a while you can indeed get to level 30 spending gems only three or fewer times (there’s a 12% chance as I mentioned). Most of the time you can’t, and it is wise to stop before you’re paying too much – and of course that also depends on what you have already earned so far.

    And i’m have one more question, how long it takes for next chance entering Tower of Fortune after you completing in that day ? After i finished the event today, the countdown says 3 hours, but after 3 hours, it’s still locked and it says next 24 hours. Are we gonna get new chances in the next 27 hours ?

    I have the same question too. My main account takes 19 hours to recharge (but when I reload the game it says 10, and at the end I think it takes 10-12 hours). However on my low-level alt it recharges every hour (!). However one is iOS and the other Android, not sure if that matters…

    dpage
    @dpage

    Better still, can they try putting in a progress box or something like that, which you can click to get to whatever episode (section)? This would be much more efficient to replay earlier levels as well…

    dpage
    @dpage

    You’re quite lucky to reach level 30 seeing the pig only 3 times (out of the 24 levels with pigs) – that’s around 12% chance. The amount of gems for continuing rises so quickly that it is almost better to stop when you reveal the 3rd pig.

    @mvnla2 Sorry, haven’t been collecting data lately since my birds are all diamond now. Trust me the game gets boring after that. :P

    Now I’m mostly trying the levels to get a blue box to earn that 10 gems per day. And I’m doing that in level 33 since it seems to drop more often than level 9 now.

    dpage
    @dpage

    I don’t seem to be getting gifts from level 9 lately, while level 33 is still dropping but I haven’t been keeping the numbers. Looks like they tuned the drop rates, definitely for level 9 – to the point that you can actually feel it without keeping track of the sequences.

    Especially for a percentage as low as 10% or even smaller, it’s not that rare to see streaks of 30+ without a gift. I got used to it when I was farming a while ago. This is compounded by the fact that short streaks pass by quickly, which makes a huge contrast to a long streak that seems to last forever. That was why I started to actually write down the numbers so I’ve an objective sense of everything.

    @dpage

    arrrrrgh. Before the new update I could get my bird back + 1 extra spell card completing the first stage of most levels. Now they’ve tweaked it so you only get 1 bonus card. And my birds are already Diamond which is supposed to fill up the meter quicker.

    @mvnla2 Thanks! All data are since worldwide release, and should be applicable to anyone (unless they’ve hidden versions!). On average you’ll need 10 trials, but there are much longer runs. As you can see in the spreadsheet it’s not unusual to not see anything in 30 or more trials (of the first stage). So 6 runs are like 24 total stages/levels and, assuming stages are independent it’s perfectly possible you don’t get anything.

    I’ve effectively given up on 33 since level 9 is much more appealing (thanks for your thread!).

    It’s more effective to just farm the first stage since you can restart the level much quicker than completing it. But I’d admit it’s kinda boring if you do it for long enough. XD

    @dpage

    Hi, I’ve been recording data for levels 9 and 33 and thought they might be useful to this thread. The way I do it is to restart the level if I don’t see a box in the first stage, so the following data should be interpreted as “trials of first stage”.

    For level 9 I played 738 rounds, getting 36 R(ed) and 34 B(lue) boxes, so roughly you’d need to start 20 times for getting a box of a specific colour, or 10 times for getting a box of any colour. Among the 36 R boxes, I got 22 F(eathers) and 13 S(pells) (and 1 unknown as I couldn’t shoot a bird to reach it). There is no significant difference between the chances of R/B boxes (i.e. should be 50-50), or Feather/Spell split (but it looks like you get a feather more often, see next paragraph).

    I’ve more data for level 33 since that was the preferred level suggested in this thread. There I played 1,700 rounds, getting 78 R and 64 B boxes (this R/B split is not significant, i.e. consistent with 50-50 ratio). Among the 78 R there are 52 F, 24 S and 2 unknown. The difference here is significant, which means you’re more likely to get feather in a R box. The average number of attempts needed to get a R/B/Any box is 22/27/12 respectively.

    The proportions in level 9 and 33 (70/738 and 142/1700) are not significantly different, i.e. these two levels give you roughly the same chances of getting a box.

    TL;DR: Level 9 gives you roughly 10% chance of a box of any colour; blue/red ratio seems to be 50-50. There doesn’t seem to be much difference between levels 9 and 33, but of course playing level 9 is a better choice since it only has two stages (so you can finish it off faster when you see a red box).

    The spreadsheet here contains the full data. The numbers in the first column are how many trials before I get the box to the right of them. Feel free to use it to your advantage, and let me know if you find something wrong. :)

    @mighty-red-1 Seriously. I thought they’re gonna award things better than 1 or 2 feathers in Diamond since they’ve no use at all – you can’t level them further. I’ve 3 birds upgraded to Diamond now (4 today if the game lets me enter arena), and I don’t feel I want to upgrade anymore. :(

    @david007 That same guy did 1.2m again in the first round after daily reset. Sounds pretty incredible to me, even with spells. The next best player got 1m. I’d say 900k is reasonable and 1m if lucky, but unless you’ve 3 or 4 mighty eagles I have no clue how to get 1.2m.

    Before the worldwide release the tournament always only counted your best attempt and not aggregate in any means. So it’s kinda weird they mess up this in the current version. I’m guessing the lag is also to blame since sometimes you need several tries to get into the arena just after the reset time.

    @dpage

    Interesting… I also got #1 quite a number of times when the leaderboard showed I’m #4 or #5. And then there are those near impossible scores.. somebody on the board gets 1.3m today, compared to around 800k most people are getting and around 1m the second place achieves. That guy also did 1.2m a few days ago when most people managed 700k. That looks fishy.

    There are pigs that shoot hammers or bubbles, which are safe for Terence (they do slow him down a bit, but not by much). For the laser pig keep all your birds away from him, unless you want the bouncing effect of the resulting toys which is useful in several boss levels, especially if you’re firing split blues.

    dpage
    @dpage

    The birds are indeed stronger – you can clearly see they can deal more damage to the same structures. You’ll find it’s almost too easy to replay earlier levels when you’ve better birds.

    dpage
    @dpage

    Yes, each place will earn you more feathers as you progress through the leagues.

    dpage
    @dpage

    The score is only good for a day and is reset each day at 00UTC.

    EDIT: the levels in the tournament are different every day and obviously some are harder to earn score than others.

    @dpage

    Today I get the “new” update with gems rewarded instead of spell cards, and the ability to swap a bird with a random spell card. I quoted “new” because there isn’t a software upgrade (still 1.3.1), so apparently this was done at server side.

    @mighty-red-1 In your experience, how often do those mystery boxes spawn? I kept repeating some levels yesterday, up to 7 times per minute, and is fruitless in around 15 minutes of play – that’s around 100 repeats. Together with some more tries today I still can’t make them appear. The levels I played were around 10ish or 20ish, and have produced those boxes before so I know they should spawn something…
