Does anyone know the new level cap yet? I’m in the mid-190s, and I hope we don’t get past 220 or so – it’ll be practically impossible to max out.

I agree with the earlier posters – Blaster, and by a mile. Soundwave is actually one of my favorite bots, but Blaster is basically just as powerful and fires *significantly* more often. Boosted properly, he might be the most powerful bot in the game (even ahead of Dead End), and can take out Unicron without breaking a sweat.

@fumuthabeotc, Energon Grimlock is still in the upper echelon of bots (except arguably on the spark run), so I’d stick with him.

For what it’s worth, my purple crowns are Blaster, Soundwave, EG, and Dead End, with Ultimate Megatron as a gold crown (I stopped promoting when they nerfed him). I’m looking to promote another myself though (I’ve got the sparks) – I’m thinking Energon Starscream, Ratchet, or maybe Energon Lockdown. Anyone have an opinion?

I was at level 160, and just got the “new level unlocked” screen on beating it, so it seems they’ve added some more levels. No idea how many yet.

I can corroborate that the pigs are added to the next level. I’ve made a habit of always getting the bonus for that run – it’s usually 150-300 pigs for a normal level without the ad bonus. Normal coins as far as I can tell, though – I’ve assumed that the sparks entirely replace the coins.

Count me on team UM. Turned him from the most powerful bot in the game (when fully equipped) to middle-of-the-road-at-best. Wish I hadn’t wasted my sparks on him now.

Bumblebee is basically a god. None can stand against his might. Why, just the other day my Lvl 15 Bumblebee nearly destroyed a WMT by himself. One whole WMT! Please, Rovio, if you must nerf a bot, nerf Bumblebee, for he is simply too overpowered for this game, and my other bots would have to be massively powered up to compare. In fact, if you feel like restoring, say, UM to his previous state, that might help….

On a similar note, a question of my own – I’ve current got purple crowns for Dead End, Soundwave, and EG, and a gold crown UM (promoted before the nerf). I now have enough sparks to fully promote another bot. Any suggestions?

I was thinking Blaster (but I’m worried that wouldn’t give me an additional bonus in events, since Soundwave is already promoted), or maybe Ratchet. All my decent bots (and some less useful ones) are at 15+, and fully (or near-fully) accessorized. Advice would be appreciated!

Optimus is decent if fully accessorized, but otherwise I’d wait. Soundwave and Energon Grimlock are (in my humble opinion) by far the most useful non-event bots (though Dead End wins out overall – get him if you can!). Soundwave can take out all the scenery with absurd efficiency (but is weak against WMTs, bosses, and the stronger flying pigs in the spark run), and EG can take down anything, but is a bit of a glass cannon, so you have to use him carefully. Energon Lockdown is also pretty useful – he was my main bot early on, especially since I had the explosive rounds accessory. Keep in mind that the energon variants gain health from energon cubes, which can really help in events or spark runs where you can’t use the health booster.

The less said about Bumblebee, the better.

Real question: why on earth haven’t we seen Ironhide yet? He was the second-in-command of the autobots in G1, so he’s hardly an obscure character (unlike, say, Skyfire/Jetfire, who was one of my favorites growing up), yet I’ve yet to see him in the game.

One thing they really need to work on: when a new bot replaced a defeated one, the thing that killed the old one should not have an effect on the new one. I just lost a bot to a falling tower, and the new one effectively ran into it and lost 4 hearts without me having any chance whatsoever to escape. Of course, it’s even more common with swarms of flying pigs. They really need to add an immunity period, even if it’s only a second or two.

Each new level (purple, let’s say) adds 500 to the previous spark price (at least up to 135% – I only had enough saved up to get me there on one character).

 

So, for those who hate math:

110%: 3500 sparks

115: 4000

120: 4500

125: 5000

130: 5500

135: 6000

140: ? [probably 6500]

Just wondering – I have nearly enough sparks to upgrade another bot to gold crown status. I’m guessing I should do Ultimate Megatron, but it looks like Trypticon has a very similar weapon. How do they compare? Should I hold off and upgrade Trypticon first, or just upgrade UM as planned? (Not that it would affect this event much, but still.)

Or is there another bot I should upgrade first beyond those? (I have EG, Dead End, and Soundwave promoted.)

@dlurbauer Dead End. My team right now is Soundwave (for the reasons you mentioned), Energon Grimlock (his ability to gain health from energon is absolutely invaluable in the spark run), and Dead End, who is godly. He doesn’t have the greatest defensive capabilities, and he doesn’t recharge like EG, but he can obliterate most of what’s on screen quickly enough to survive (without Soundwave’s weakness to missiles and WMTs).

So I spent a lot of effort and half my gem horde to upgrade Soundwave to level 16 in the last event, and now I’m not getting the 184% bonus in either the event or spark run. What the heck? Did I somehow misunderstand what the score bonus was, or is someone else having the same issue?

If the score bonus doesn’t apply to, well, anything, then this is a game-breaking JARSU, considering how hard they’re pushing it and the cost involved.

For what it’s worth, though it took me half my gem stash and any chance at Trypticon upgrades to find out, I can now attest that level 17 Soundwave gets you up to a 262% bonus. (However, since it would cost 9000 tokens, I won’t be finding out what level 18 would get you anytime soon.)

Soundwave is one of my top 3 bots (along with EG and Dead End, all level 15 with gold crowns), so this is actually a tough decision. Should I shoot for Trypticon, or just hope that he’ll be available again soon? Or, instead, should I go for a level 16 overpowered Soundwave with a godly (or perhaps ungodly) 184% boost, making every subsequent event and spark runs that much easier? No way I can afford both, so it’s a tough choice.

Two days in a row, spark run has crashed from the splash screen. Is this happening to anyone else? (And it’s not my phone – closed all other programs, and went right to the spark run from launch.)
