Blood Brothers 2 used a similar stamina system, with energy required for every move, whether or not it led to a battle (not quite apples to apples, though). It led to lots of alt accounts, but they had hundreds of thousands of players (unless they had ghosts in their rankings too, but I doubt it).

@neomerlinmagic It isn’t even that. It is just saying “hey they might have more rules and you can’t sue us if you get in trouble for something we didn’t warn you about”. Otherwise they would deal with people claiming Rovio misled them into believing it was all subject only to Rovio’s ToS.

@killerkea My point was that it was silly. Using a fake Facebook account to play this game isn’t cheating in the game any more than stealing your neighbor’s wifi or staying up past your bedtime is cheating. It might be against the rules, but it isn’t against the rules of the game by any standard.

@killerkea That might violate Facebook’s ToS, but it doesn’t violate Rovio’s. With your logic, if I was stealing my neighbor’s internet to make this post I would be “cheating” the forums, and if I was using it to play the game I would be “cheating” in the game. It might be breaking the law, but it wouldn’t be cheating. If Rovio’s ToS said something about us only being able to use legitimate Facebook accounts, then you would have a point.

@mimi27 Why not? 12,000 in 5 hours isn’t hard at all to do while playing, and while I was still trying to climb I would frequently get 20-30k points in the last 24 hours of the event to secure a spot.

To me there is a clear distinction between things that actually modify the game’s coding and things that don’t. The former are clearly unacceptable. The latter are at least defensible, if not truly acceptable.

@killerkea You can only get the highest rank of each type of weapon (dispel, crit, chain attack, heal) available for that bird. After you get a blueprint all blueprints for lower ranks of that type of weapon disappear.

I found that with sea dog, Paladin (spies for 5 energy), and wizard (lightning bird for 7 energy) I was able to beat every level without taking damage. I used multi attack set weapons.

Please note that the highest energy battle you can always 3-star is most efficient for points, even if you reuse every stamina drink and never reroll. If your goal is to farm drinks then lower battles are, of course, better.

My set banner and top items all provide less health than their non set equivalents. Is this intended? I understand the passive bonuses they provide are better even without the set bonus, but it seems odd when comparing them to set weapons and armor vs non set weapons and armor.

@Killerkea Keep in mind that not all 0 score individuals will be ghosts. Anyone who goes into the arena for their free spins, or due to a misclick, or for any other reason will be entered into a board (so long as they click “Finished” from the previous week). Those players will be on boards and may keep a 0 score, like I did last season.

I was talking about the boards too. If a player is active I would delete them from my Facebook (I have a special Facebook for this game) so I wouldn’t have to deal with them in the future.

The problem with Option 2 existing is that many players would fill their entire list with low level players so they would be guaranteed to advance in every event with no effort, and it would discourage them from having quality players on my list for fear of making the competition unbeatable.

While I agree that the reward will almost certainly not be on the wheel, I do think there is a substantial difference between advantages that can never be made up and advantages that can be. With discounts and free LCs everyone else gets there, just slower. With modified classes certain individuals are locked out forever. Facebook is 100% personal choice, so including that on the list seems silly to me, almost like saying “those players that choose to use blues and bomb have a huge advantage over those players that never use them”.

@neomerlinmagic The difference is arena leagues reset weekly. Using your example, if the clocks both “sprung forward” and “fell back” once a week, most people wouldn’t care too much, because it would even out very quickly. That’s the case with ghosts. It can be frustrating, but it isn’t really *that* big of a deal. Even in your example, it IS fair “overall”, just problematic because the luck likely won’t average out. With us it likely will.

Either way, I’m not defending the system, just saying it isn’t this horrible awful system that only hurts players that some make it out to be. @KerrAvon In your example the ghosts have helped you, because otherwise you would be on a board with 15 legitimate players competing for your spots. The only way they don’t help you is if you assume that Rovio would ever be okay with a board that only featured 5 players. They wouldn’t be.

@neomerlinmagic I made diamond this week without any score alterations (I do use the airplane mode trick). I attribute some of my success to not starting the new week until near the end of the first day (I haven’t actually claimed my diamond promotion yet for this very reason).

My very easy diamond bracket did have a 3rd place score of around 65k, though (with 4th around 55k).

You are talking about two different things: the strength of opponents you get matched with for battles, and the competitiveness of the other players in your league.

@mighty-red-1 You call it unfair, I call it Rovio’s business model. The problem with any “freemium” game (and most other subscription-based games) is that it is very easy for them to make a tiny bit of new content to trigger a new revenue stream, so they do that, and keep people from ever being “done”. The best you can hope for is being caught up. If you don’t like it you need a new game. Anyone who hopes for any free method of substantially increased LC production or substantially decreased LC costs is clinging to a pipe dream.

What emblem did the banner have? Did you actually check by tap holding or just by the image? Did the enemy have a wizard rage shield up? Chain attacks can result in your birds being stunned too. Are you sure your birds were stunned while attacking and not while being attacked?
