Three months later and I still haven’t made enough gems to unlock this Jungle challenge. 😭

Reading this topic I now see I’m probably not missing out on much and should save the few gems I have for other gameplay. 🤷😴

I like @grimlockdown ‘s suggestion of promotion being equalised across the squad 👏👏👏

It makes sense to me that a squad would work together and enhance each other rather than an individual be higher.

This would see a lot of different characters being used in weekly challenge events, I’d be more likely to try squad mates I wasn’t ready to promote as individuals if the promotion score was applied to the whole squad.

I’d like to suggest a training zone where we can run any of our bots with our setup (accessories, available energicons etc) to test new combinations of accessories and after upgrades.

Some bots rarely come up on the map when you have nearly all of them, or they come up on maps where you know they’re no good, and without playing them sometimes you are not likely to upgrade them or spend spark on them.

I expect this area would be fairly simple – a pile of glass blocks, a pile of wood blocks, a pile of stone blocks, some flying pigs, a walking mortar tower (in range to hit you). Maybe a few other.  I don’t suggest this be greatly rewarding (although a gem per run would be a good distraction/incentive). I would also like an escape/abort button to immediately back out of the training mission where required.

Hope this is as easy as it sounds!

That is a great deal … If you happen to have 1500 gems. I rarely do. I’d prefer a game-play method of making more sparks – like the spark run (which is good for it, at higher promotion levels) or updating the Pig Lab offerings to include Spark (and increase gems and coins, please)

I was saving to 14,500 sparks to promote my level 17 character to first green level. After the unexpected update it cost 18,000 sparks so I couldn’t upgrade.

Yes the lower levels are easier to promote now and I have taken advantage of that.

I appreciate that the team continues to make changes and improvements to this game.

For me, it seems I won’t get any characters to green now. That level is completely out of reach.

Anyone who’s gaming the game will have all their green promotions and keep winning spark runs and weekly event days. Most of us don’t earn enough to play at the high levels.

If I’m understanding, the suggested process now is “Promote first, Upgrade after”

So before you can really see what the bot is worth you need to use sparks to increase promotion level and hope it’s not wasted.

For those of us who’ve spent years to upgrade our bots, too bad, it’ll cost more.

I expect this was in reply to the feedback related to “why don’t we use newer/different birds more often” … Most replies I saw indicated the lower promotion level reduced the score result for the newer birds.

 

Making it easier to promote at lower levels may encourage players to use different birds. But it may make no difference either – you play the birds you like, ones proven to be effective.

The annoying thing for me now is knowing whether to keep playing or wait for a fix.

I just did my ShockWave Spire and got some tokens, should I spend them on last week’s exchange store items, or wait to see if any more are returned/awarded?

If not in the Spark Run, have the featured character in the Daily Challenge – where they currently are zero promotion so I never use them – even to see what they’re like.

Regarding the rest of the point you’re asking… As others have said it’s not just about the function of the bot, there’s also the promotion factor… No matter how useful (let’s say Bumblebee) becomes tomorrow I won’t start using him until I can get him on promotion scale with my other bots – why drop from 175%+ to 10% to use another bot?  Earning gems and spark is hard enough for long time players.

 

I suggest you look to increasing reward tiers for the Pig Lab and reducing the Pig penalties in the Shockwave Spire. Increased gems/sparks/tokens in the Steel Crates would be beneficial too.  You gotta actively feed the economy to get it growing!

I also received the 400 gems and played past the zero-reward tiers. Now am getting the random rewards, 75, 45 etc. But like  others am noticing odd changes in my token balance… Maybe Rovio should gift us 🎁  some  tokens before the end of this run – I suggest about 10,000 might be a good start.  😀

I have found that suggested “boosted” doesn’t often mean best. Sometimes it’s been good, but usually I’m better with my own boosted selections.

I haven’t quite started ignoring the suggested one but I’m very close to it after the last few failed only a few seconds in play.

My bots are 11+12 mostly and I’m getting stuck around level 27.

That seems less to do with my skill or the bot levels but the Spark Run keeps crashing before the end so my achievement is not recorded (and I don’t get the sparks) most days.
