That score had nothing to do with a Stella fling.  The opponent’s total score is pre-determined by flock power before the battle even begins.  Then during the battle, opponents individual scores are posted to give the illusion that something is happening, but it isn’t.  It’s just random scores posted to the running total that will equal the pre-determined final total at the end.

So, for example, in a 600 point event, you will spend 120 to get 9 points, 180 to get 12, assuming you don’t lose any battles.  If everyone in a 50 member clan gets 9, that’s 450 points, 600 for 12.  At either level, you get back 160.  There’s no reason to not have the gems to get the clan minimums.

Remember too, that you get gems as part of the rewards.  In a full clan, with everyone participating the 3-6-9, you will make back (+/- 10 or so), all the gems you spent.  So no buying of gems is necessary, unless you waste them elsewhere.

As to the opponents, not only are they not real players, they aren’t real flocks.  Just look at the hatless birds with the same power as the others.  even when we had the 3X Bubbles a couple of days ago, the opponent’s Bubbles was the same power as the rest.  And the opponent’s score is pre-determined based on flock power, nothing else.  On the few times I have paid to re-start, the opponent scores the exact same number of points, and in the exact same increments with each throw.  It’s nothing more than a feather, pearl, and gem generator.  I spend a couple hours a week and get 115,500 feathers, 2800 pearly, 1000 gems, and 7 legendary chests.  More during pearl parties and feather frenzies.  What’s not to like?

Again, that is my experience.  I’m not doubting that others experience far different.  I find if I keep myself in the legendary league, I always outclass my opponents by 250-300 flock power.  I don’t understand how others face the opposite, but apparently it’s happening.

I’m not really understanding all the complaints about how hard the new arena is.  My experience is very, very different from most of the rest of yours.  I started at legendary one, and breezed up into eventually master, completing the streaks every day, and winning first place every week.  I agree that master is impossible, so I decided at the beginning of a new week, I would lose enough battles to get back to level one legendary and then climb the ladder again.  I can do that because over the years I have accumulated 1900 tickets.  I care nothing for my ranking, only the rewards.  I have never finished lower than second, and usually first.  I like it.  My flock power is growing like crazy.

So if a hatchling runs away for not being fed, is that the end, or do you get a new egg and start over?  I accidentally leveled up my hatchling to level 3, and I cannot sustain 25 apples every other day.  but a level 1 or 2 is doable. If I let my level 3 run away, do I start over?

Screw this new event!  Streak 8, I got matched up with a flock power 90 higher than me, with all 5 spells. After 2 rooms, 4 throws, I was down by 20 mil.  I should have quit right then rather than wasting my spells.  I continued, spent 60 gems, only to still be short 5 mil.  Then the game locked up rather than allow me to spend another 120.

They filled their meter, got the same bird back and used it again back to back.

Have you ever been able to do that with more than 3 birds left?  No, because once you fling a bird, a face down card turns up to fill the vacancy.  When you get the flung bird back, it goes into the face down pile.  The only way you can do what you describe is when you have 3 or less when you fling.

So I quit my clan last night.  fewer than 10 people would play, and we got the lowest reward once and nothing else.  I joined a new one, which had 6 people at the time.  In 10 minutes it was full.  So far today, we have 6 points, as only 4 people have played.  What the hell?  Why join if you are not going to play?  Are 80% of the people just moochers hoping to ride coattails?

Well yeah, you can mooch off of players spending big bucks, but is that really a good game model?

I’ve never completed a task, because I never spent gems.  So, to get 3 points, it would cost a minimum of 140 gems.  If everyone got 3 points, that would be 150 points.  In this last challenge, 150 points would get nice rewards, worth the 140 gems ( as you would get at least 100 back) but you have to count on the other 49 doing their part.  My clan got 9 points.

Maybe that’s my problem.

Sounds like you got another great clan though, from what I’ve heard a lot of clans are more miss than hit, needs lots of communication and organization I feel. Loving it.

My clan once got 17 points.  Usually below 5.  I don’t really see the point of this clan thing.  How many gems must one spend to get 172 points?  Several thousand?

BTW, I should have 3 of the 5 “open 5 legendary chests” complete, as i have completed a 4X hat set.  i did get the chest, but not the credit on the feat.  So I have to get the 90 day, 300 rare chests, and pop 100,000 pigs (just got over 50K) to complete that feat.  Unless by a miracle I can get to floor 90.  it’s been quite a while since I got past floor 10.

I got 2 legendary chests recently.  60 day and I think 1000 free chests.  got 7500 white and 1000 gems, so not bad.

Is it just me, or is this clan thing pretty pointless?  Spend gems to play impossible rooms which require gems to complete.  And for  what?  Paltry rewards?  I’d rather spend the gems on the tower.  Much better ROI.

Why do they introduce new things without explaining what the hell they are and how to do it?  What is a clan, what does it mean to join a clan?  What does one do while in a clan?  I’m in a clan, I played a room, I have one point, I can pay 20 gems to play another room, my clan has 21 points, and the time left is 8 hours.  What the hell does all this mean?

Lava levels (like seen in Rovio’s facebook teaser). Seem to be only the newest levels (1300+).

Lava levels?  1300+ levels?  As far as I knew I was finished at 1220, until this new update added 20 more.  Now the furthest I can go is 1240, and those are snow/ice levels.

Did your game realize you upgraded your slingshot properly?

 

No.  I have been hoarding pearls, but given the rewards, I decided to complete my winter hat set.  I got the reward for that, but the upgrade the slingshot counter did not move.

What level are your birds? I think the higher stages are impossible unless you at least have epic bronze

 

Levels are irrelevant.  FTR, my birds are pristine Azure, all with 4X hats, and an elder gold slingshot.
