To be honest, I’m kind of curious how much effort does it take to create such a game. Probably not much, since they keep making new ones just to drop them after a short while.
Mp127@mp127Huh, interesting. Whoever they were, their account must’ve been deleted.
But other than that, there’s not much to say about it.
Mp127@mp127Hmm, at which page of the thread did you see this? I did a quick look at it, and found no comment posted by an anonymous.
It would be strange, since you have to be logged to comment on the forum.
Mp127@mp127And I won’t be surprised if the reworked version will end up getting canned too.
What’s the point of wasting resources on making games, if a quarter of them don’t even see the release day?
Ah, I guess nothing has really changed, then.
Mp127@mp127It’s just some fan’s idea, nothing more. AB Seasons was concluded with the end of 2016.
Mp127@mp127@abginebird Guess I kept you waiting as well :)
I’m doing fine. Got into some new communities, pretty much moved on from this place. Still, I like to lurk here from time to time, even though nothing’s really happening.
As for the trailer – it’s nice, but it’s hard to not feel like Rovio has taken all the wrong turns with the franchise.
Mp127@mp127I don’t, that’s for sure.
That seal was quite cute though. How are you doing, anyway? Long time no see.
Mp127@mp127Well done Rovio, I wonder if making gates to things, which were free for all those years, will make you new players. Maybe add one or two cash grabs more, just to make the game completely unplayable.
BTW – has anyone got 36/36 Golden Eggs? I believe that the iOS-exclusive GE (#33) is counted to the score, but I don’t have any proof.
Mp127@mp127The concept doesn’t sound interesting, the execution likely won’t be better. The poster looks fantastic though. I can’t get over the fact that most of their promo art reuse the same boring poses over and over, and then they’re pulling off that nice and unique pictures.
Mp127@mp127Yeah, especially when you realize that the scene is physically impossible because of bird anathomy… Just don’t watch it, you’ll feel a lot better.
Mp127@mp127Superion is a old news. I remember that I found him in files while I was still playing and it was quite a long time ago. There was also something about a non-Rodimus red Bumblebee back then. The other two are definitely something new.
Mp127@mp127I think it’d be good to change the “likely” part on Space and Seasons – seems that both games aren’t going to get any new content in the nearest future (if at all), so it’s a bit misleading.
Mp127@mp127Very sad news for the Nest. Thanks to him I went through many tricky levels. His strats are showing that he had an immense passion to AB Space, always trying to get the best possible score. It’s always hard to accept this kind of things, I send my condolences to his wife and hope she’s alright.
Mp127@mp127Nothing new. If a game has that one thing that makes you think about “bad things”, it’s always going to be in-game chat (other than ads, obviously). Bonus points if the chat censors phrases featuring the “correct” string of letters.
I don’t know how exactly the chat works here (because I’ll never install this game again), but in this kind of situations it’s better to have a 3rd party app to make things easier (e.g. Line).
Mp127@mp127My point of view is a bit different than the most of the community, as I’m around for just 2.5 years, still managed to get a bit of old Rovio. When I’ve joined the community, games were updated nearly every Thursday, there was always something to play. Honestly while the problems has already started, I really enjoyed Angry Birds world.
Two years later, Rovio has really taken the wrong way in my opinion. The company wanted to break with the “slingshot games” badge, and they did it. They slowly started ending with slingshots (while Space, Rio and Star Wars are reasonably finished, just a look at Stella and Star Wars 2 gives a hint that they were cut short), then started doing their hit-and-miss ideas. Now basically they decided to end with Seasons, the only game which used to get regular updates. I’ll go even further and say that the decision has been done a long time ago – just look at two most recent chapters of ABO – they feel more like a Seasons episode for me.
Now what’s left? Original AB will always stay around just to be a last sign of what they used to be. Friends are ok, but it’s more of a power-up fest. Bad Piggies and Go didn’t get a real update in a long time, and likely won’t. Transformers and Epic just add another layers of grind every few months. Fight ends in a few months. AB2, Pop, Blast are a straight cash-grab and the last two are just one of dozens match-3 games around. Evolution is a joke of the both game and franchise. It’s basically 8 games left, and I plan to continue playing only one of them.
The truth is, Rovio has passed the point of no return. Angry Birds are no longer what they used to be, in my opinion unconvertible. It’s just sad what they have become. I’m not going to blame people working for them, they don’t decide the future of the games. Just move on and enjoy what’s left, because I don’t believe that there’s a chance for the sudden reborn in the future. And sorry for everyone who had to read this, I just had to write what I think.
Mp127@mp127First time when you play this level, you’ll be forced to try a Shockwave power-up, which results in 100K+ scores. ABN leaderboards doesn’t allow the Power-Up scores of any kind, so the best thing to do is to just replay the level without the Shockwave.
The walkthrough of this level has more comments about it:Mp127@mp127To be honest, I’ll be glad if they’ll finish the AB Orignal storyline at least (presumably the incoming dinosaur episode hinted at the end of Piggy Farm, which seems to have small ties to RMF/Short Fuse). The rest of the games are only updated when they’re profitable, so I have a little hope that we’ll see even a goodbye screen in Fight. At best, something like “try Angry Birds 2” poster from Stella.
Technically Rio and Space have some sort of ending. Rio has the end after the last level of Rio 1, assuming that Rio 2 levels are just an epilogue. Most recent chapter of Space is basically a comeback to Solar System and there’s not much to do with it. Not as satysfying as one would hope, but it’s always something. Seasons’ main problem is that it’s already a massive game, also the oldest one visually. Still I think that there are some plans for Seasons, as it’s not the first time when gaps between updates are really long.
Mp127@mp127@sahil-gagrai You’ve forgotten about the most important thing – the price. As a very limited-time offer, the game will cost only *drums* … … … wait for it… … $9.99!
I’ve had one spare time machine somewhere, I just don’t remember where I left it…
Mp127@mp127There’s nothing to worry about. With ever-improving technology, bigger impact of recent years on history and emulators capable to simulate any Android system, anyone should be able to open any game, unless they require online connection – those will be lost as soon as Rovio will close servers.
Offline games will live long after Rovio will be closed, because even when any Angry Birds will have become incompatible with new devices (ABSW1 and ABSt are already going through it), you’ll be able to get an older device, either through some old smartphone or emulator and just download a clean apk from the Internet. Even better as these sites still have many older versions of the games.
Online games are rather huge problem to deal with, because Rovio won’t keep the servers forever and the chance that it’ll survive the time is, honestly, very low. Unless someone will be able to bypass the Internet connection (that’s what Rovio maybe could do).
AB Friends is a separate topic, because Rovio for sure has stored old levels in the database to reuse them and they could be able to release these levels (obviously it’s not gonna happen, but it’d be nice).
Promotional games are very likely unrecoverable if they weren’t on CDs, because they weren’t created to persist through the time and very likely they were done just after the promotion has finished.
To end the post in humorous-but-sadly-true way, maybe in the future we will finally be able to play without IAPs and ads everywhere.
Mp127@mp127From data files I can assume it’s Smokescreen.
Mp127@mp127Just imagine that the update won’t come before the next week. That’s all. Then we’ll be happy from first brand-new chapter in ABO since… a long time.
On the other side, the new Golden Egg looks a bit suspicious, like it would be obtainable only by winning the League. (I hope that I’m wrong.)*Levels with Bird Island background are currently playable in the Leagues. They aren’t looking that bad.
Mp127@mp127Technically, it would’ve been the first time Nemesis is available through the event. Formerly, he was buyable only in the bundle for real money. So saying that he’s going to be available “again” isn’t in 100% correct.
I hope that the fact Rovio has given all event TFs but Nemesis now, doesn’t mean that they’ll repeat the story, though rereleasing Halloween accessories gives me more confidence that it’ll be an event.
Mp127@mp127Always there’s that one guy who wants an opposite of the other people’s desires…
This break is great. Finally there’s some time to play something other than events. And if you want to feel better, that kind of silence should suggest incoming update. Maybe even huge update.
Mp127@mp127My attention to this game just has disappeared.
I remember when they told that Stella’s story will be continued in AB Pop… Now this game can be removed from the world. Also, Facebook version of the game is going to be closed. Just let it rest in peace, this game has nothing related to the Stella Pop.
edit: Facebook version still has Willow and Poppy. Play as long as it’s still alive.
Mp127@mp127My first attempt, Ricochet killed Boss Pig without huge problems. It isn’t that bad. The only really bad things are mediocre accessories (and only 2 to wear, same story with Jazz) and lack od support (Buddies, because Energonicons were nerfed anyway). Playing nodes with Ricochet may be funny, but would be even better with “——- rounds” perks.
