    Keep in mind that other players have advanced as far as you in that time. It is easy to go from zero to 500 flock power in six months now. You got stronger, but your competition did too.

    Also, you might have to play more than once a day to see a big jump in scores. Everyone in my clan does this. Some of us spend a lot of gems every day to reach a target score. The practice helps, but you also increase your chances of getting a lucky run. Sometimes the game helps you, sometimes it holds you back.

    Do we know the price in apples for levels 5 and 6 — and is there a level 7? The consensus here seems to be that level 4 is sustainable with bi-daily feeding, but I see players with magenta hatchlings at the top of the leaderboard that have to be level 6 or 7. It seems implausible they’re spending thousands of rubles, a week to maintain those levels.

    You can find videos on YouTube showing run-throughs for all levels.

    There is a method that allows players to manipulate the difficulty settings so that they always get easy runs. I don’t know the specifics, but it involves hacking your phone or running the game on a PC in an emulator. This is how players have been achieving incredibly high scores relative to their flock power.

    You should always give up if you get a pig on floor 2. It only gets worse from there.

    There is a user on YouTube called Hungry Hatchlings who has posted videos for levels 1-6, and maybe even 7 by now.

    I completed 7 after many attempts. Along the way I discovered I could strike room 1 with Matilda some of the time. My final successful run seemed to have the difficulty factor scaled down, because maneuvers I had tried before worked a lot more effectively.

    @heleno : You have to leave your current clan in order to search for others, but save yourself time and just browse the MEBC leaderboard, which shows you the top 100 clans in terms of earning Mighty Eagle points for the season. These are almost all Diamond clans, and it is advantageous to join one. The prizes for every type of challenge are bigger than the other clan tiers. The very top clans are extremely competitive and picky about members, but further down the list you’ll see many with room for more members.

    I think a lot of clans would be willing to welcome you. My clan is Diamond but the majority of our members are in the 500s. (We’re a global clan with a few Aussies, by the way.) I would say your star rank is good. We use this as a gauge of how much of your flock power you have earned by honest playing — the Arena is where star rank is mostly earned — and how much of it might have come from cheating or hacking. A player with a high flock power but very low star rank is almost certainly a hacker of some sort.

    The fast forward button is an acknowledgement from Rovio that it doesn’t matter which card you select. It’s all set by their programming.

    Have you considered trying one of the clans in the bootcamp top 100? They’re all Diamond clans, so the challenge prizes are better. Some of them have room for new members.

    Hi Leo. You sound like a good fit for my clan. We’re a top 50 Diamond clan and have several open spots. We complete every challenge and have the customary 3-6-9 point contribution minimums, which it sounds like would pose no problem for you. Please send a friend request here if interested.

    Just curious, but what time to regular clan challenges start and end for an international clan? I used to be part of a US-based one, but now I’m in a UK one, and everything starts and ends six hours earlier than I’m used to. Usually they start at 1:00 am Eastern Time in the US and end at 6:00 pm, whichever day is the end of the challenge. Are the times different for international clans?

    You think this is bad? My clan has faced the same Russian clan in five of our last seven matches, and we get crushed every time by their top six players, all with super high flock powers and low star ranks who achieve unbeatably high scores every single match. Several of them leave hats off before the match, and two of them appear to have been cloned from the same account. One of their players has no bootcamp frame yet always manages to score way above what his flock power would make possible. None of this alone is damning, but it all adds up, don’t you think?

    We might be able to work something out. Please accept my friend request and we can explore it.

    @mscreant :

    How many players are you now? My Diamond clan has 11 spots open, and we still have our share of coasters who never play more than our minimum requirement and which, personally, I am getting tired of propping up by putting 20-30 points on every challenge. Our clan is the product of a merger, so I know our leaders are open to doing that again.

    If you are willing and able to spend money on gems to help complete daily challenges, on every challenge, then my Diamond clan might welcome you. We have members ranging from 350-850, and members contribute in their own ways. A player with low flock plower can still be a big help to the clan by putting 6-12 points on challenges. Note: we have minimum requirements, and repeatedly missing them will get you kicked, so be warned.

    For you, the prizes in Diamond challenges will help you build that flock power faster. We never fail to complete the regular clan challenges, and those Legendary Chest prizes will do a lot for a player at your level.

    There is no predicting what Rovio will do with the Sumarai hats. While a few players have managed to collect them all (most of them hackers), millions of players aren’t even close, so they may keep them available in the ME shop for a while or make them available for zillions of pearls. On the other hand, there is the precedent of the NFL hat set, which were only available via the tower during the Super Bowl event. But who knows, maybe they’ll offer them again at Super Bowl 2019.

    @heather-bird : I was able to claim a slingshot upgrade feat this morning, and it was triggered by this hat-prize bug. I don’t see how the can revoke the feather prize, but they may level may back to where I was before (and maybe I’ll get to earn it again?!)

    A few player have seen this, but the store should be updated to feature the Mathilda hat now. I know of several players in my clan who bought it today for 1000 coins, including myself.

    I am part of a Diamond clan (top 50) that is looking for daily players. We meet every clan challenge, have good morale, and have generous members who have treated us to a dozen chests so far. Our leadership is active in managing the clan, and we have a private Facebook group for sharing tips and videos on challenges.

    Recently a few members left the game — fed up with Rovio — and we have spots open. Players with 600+ flock power would be the most helpful to us in clan battles, but we will consider players with lower powers on a probationary basis. (We have several members who started out in the 400s and have proven themselves to be great assets to the clan.)

    We enforce minimum point contribution standards for challenges (3/200, 6/400, 9/600), but we seek members who play beyond them (and spend gems, if necessary).

    Because we have experienced hacking and looting from random players we let into the clan (one of the drawbacks of being in the top 100), I cannot post our clan name here. If you are interested, please send me a friend request to start a conversation. Ultimately, we will ask you to join our private Facebook group as a condition of clan membership, so if you cannot or will not do that, this probably isn’t the clan for you.

    Thanks for your consideration.

    In my experience, the event hats do switch location. I have trouble getting the Chuck hat almost every time for this reason.

    As for chest cards, it makes no difference which one you pick. It’s all determined by the algorithm. This was established back when the clans were first introduced and the chest still gave out large gem prizes. Many players observed that their gem banks were getting filled before they picked a card that held a gem prize.

    Regarding the slingshot, some of us have been getting temporary upgrades by winning hats in the Daily Challenge or King Pig Panic. In this bug, the apps forgets we already have that hat and rewards us for completing the set with a new slingshot level. After restarting the app, the slingshot reverts to its proper setting. One person on the AB2 Facebook group reported getting leveled up twice. That could be part of what is happening with LJS, but that player’s power is indeed too high to have been achieved without tampering.

    This is what I have observed:

    • Legendary hats are very, very rare prizes in the Legendary Chests. I have hardly even seen one, let alone picked it. 500 Pearls and 6000 Feathers seem most common.
    • I think Rovio changed the ranking of players with the same score in clan challenges. At first it seemed that the most recent player to reach that score was always at the top, but then it seemed to become more random. I want to think the first person to reach it gets to stay at the top, but I can’t say that for certain.

    @inigomontoya
    :

    I think the Flock Power displays are both glitchy and subject to delays in updating. I have looked at my own, and sometimes it doesn’t even show the correct score to me. I wouldn’t put too much stock in this information.

    Hi, @phoenixh. I’m part of an active clan that has recently lost some members and wants to build our way back to Amethyst (we’re very close). We ask members to commit to 3 points on one-day challenges, 6 points on the longer ones, with the flexibility to opt out of any challenge. We have about 30 members currently, all daily players. Please send a friend request if you’d like to learn more.

    I agree with the suggestion to move on to greener pastures. Plenty of clans are looking for active players, but you already have enough mass to start your own. Having active leaders and co-leaders is essential to the success of a clan.
