@dseufert – Thank you very much for alerting @nitro
Nitro, thank you as well for the quick response. Ironically, Facebook had already gotten complaints and had deactivated or suspended my old account. When I opened the AB2 app this evening, it was no longer connected to Facebook and the blue ‘f’ was showing which allows me to connect it to my new account. Thankfully Rovio had already addressed this issue or it’s potential to allow individuals with similar circumstances to not be left without a remedy. I was considering giving up the game if I had another crash and had no way to access a backup. I had already gone through that once before and I had no FB account.
Both of your efforts are greatly appreciated!!!
PS. I have also apprised them of my hacked account so as to avert further problems. It was a very basic account so I lost nothing of great value anyway.
SpeedyT@speedytMy Facebook account was hacked and has caused lots of trouble for me as well as wasting friend’s time with bogus spam posts, etc.
How do I switch my Angry Birds 2 progre$$ on Android from my hacked account (can’t log into it) to my new Facebook account? Thank you very much for any suggestions which have worked in the past year or two.
SpeedyT@speedytI have noticed the past 2 tournaments (Diamond League) that we had 1 or 2 players which were Amethyst League. It really doesn’t matter what level or league the others are but how well YOU score and equally as important, how OFTEN you score. Last week was the first time I didn’t get 1st or 2nd in any tournament I was in because I simply decided not to pursue it as much as required to gain rewards plus the fact that I got a late start and the two leaders were already at 500 plus stars before I began.
As far as this so-called ‘Mystery Points Brigade’, don’t count out the fact that many AB2 players are either too addicted, disabled and rarely leave home, are searching for the temporary satisfaction by accomplishing a ‘win’ or a combination thereof. I have personally scored more than 1,000 stars in tournaments when I was determined to level up my birds plus the fact I was recovering from a shoulder injury and at home most of the day. Yes I had to purchase many Arena tickets but you can bet I never missed any of the free ones either. Speaking of that, twice today when I clicked to watch a video for a free ticket, it shut down my game. I thought that issue was fixed a few days ago.
SpeedyT@speedytMine comes up EVERY time I have completed everything EXCEPT buying the gem letter. If I am not mistaken, it is simply to ‘alert’ you that you still must purchase the gem letter to receive the extra 70 gems and the 200 feathers given for completing all quests. Both of my Android devices have shown to do this. It wouldn’t be so annoying IF for the first 5 times or so when re-entering the ring after you first received the alert that it darkens the screen and REQUIRES you to click on it before you can proceed. It isn’t a glitch and it is NOT something that is appealing to the game either.
SpeedyT@speedytBeing the way many of us ‘feel’ the ToF is, I personally find it best to simply avoid playing more than what it takes to get the measly 5 free gems in the Feats and use the ‘freebie gems’ acquired daily to build up until I feel I have enough to use a reasonable amount of them to buy RARE treasures in bulk. I have been able to decipher a few of the random patterns in buying treasures and have come out well ahead doing so in comparison to spending gems to get sub-par rewards (most of the time) in the ToF. You could never get the least bit upset or feel cheated buying RARE treasures with the totally free gems but if you play the ToF and hit several pigs within a relatively short amount of time, it MIGHT disappoint you more than some would wish or possibly upset some. Since I don’t fool with deleting and replacing anything in the folders, I would most definitely lose more than gain on average by playing the ToF deep unless I quit while ahead OR simply play one card and quit to snag the paltry 5 gems. Yes, I have gotten to level 42 once before I paid a total of 370 gems and then quit on the next card (I had won 637 gems or I wouldn’t have paid the 200 to continue once more) because I had 130 black pearls and a few hats I had yet to acquire back then. — Rule of Thumb – BE CONSERVATIVE while playing the Tower of Fortune if you play it more than a few rounds. To me, it just isn’t worth it.
SpeedyT@speedyt@PierGiorgio Urbanetti (sorry if spelling is wrong) – You said you will ALWAYS lose something (progress, gems, pearls, etc) if you have to delete and reinstall AB2.
Not true, at least with Android operating systems. I once lost ALL of my progress because I didn’t have a linked Facebook account with AB2. After that happened, I created a very basic, non-personal FB account just to retain my progress as well as be able to send/receive gifts (gems and spells) with others I have friended.
I have had to delete all data for AB2 several times (probably because of the video ads, etc) to create new space for the game’s progress because I primarily use an older Android device which only has 4GB of built-in storage. I have continually gotten ALL of my progress, gems and black pearls restored when I reconnect after flushing my AB2 data. No need to completely delete the app, just clear the data AFTER you click into the ‘Levels’ area and back out which reconnects to Facebook to save your most recent activity.
If you are still a bit paranoid about using this method, install AB2 on a second device and connect it with Facebook. Each time you need to flush the data from your primary device, be sure to update your secondary device to match it before your primary device flush.
SpeedyT@speedytI will chime in with a similar issue since the June 9th 2017 update of AB2. I am using Android 4.4.2 on my old but otherwise perfect for AB2 phone which is an Alcatel Fierce 2 (quad core, adreno, plenty of available memory plus 10 gig of available storage space and plenty of RAM, etc. This morning, I updated it because it was a REQUIREMENT. I then played three Arena matches. During a fourth Arena match, my phone died (battery is weak and charger got unplugged). Knowing I forfeited the last match, I tried loading the game after my phone booted up fully. The message I received was “Failed to load assets. Remove the application and reinstall it from Google Play”. If I were to do that, I would lose 154 levels of game play! What gives? How would I get it back? I do not use Facebook and I never had ANY problems with the game before today after the update. ——————
As a test, I downloaded AB2 onto another old phone this morning (Samsung Galaxy Light quad core, no other apps on it other than factory, etc.) and it played fine UNTIL an ad with the following text loaded – “Sea Level Rise Is Flooding Your Island! Build A Sand Bag Wall To Help Slow The Rising Water.” I never saw that one before today. After loading ad, the screen became jumpy and the ad kept repeating itself without ever completing beyond the first few seconds. After about 2 minutes of this crap, I pressed my home button and nothing happened which is quite odd then eventually my phone screen turned black and did nothing for 3 minutes. Seeing as it had never happened before, I decided to wait it out and moments later, the game restarted. Everything worked quite well for about an hour and then when the SAME ad mentioned above came back on, my phone reacted the same way.
My advice is to NOT update AB2 at this time, which also means you cannot play the game until Rovio gets this issue worked out.
If I cannot somehow extract my game data for my original higher ranked game install, I will have to give up the game. This is very frustrating. I never had ANY problems with AB-Space.
Thank you for any and all prudent advice.
