    You asked about a way to get to the next league easily. You can still use the single league method if you are willing to go some time without playing your game.

    I have only been logging in to play the 1 round per week, usually on Saturday. After hitting the top League I didn’t play for a week and got bumped down to silver. Then the whole thing ended but it said that since I hit the top at some point during the many weeks of play I still got the ending bonus.

    I have confirmed that I can still join the solo league this time around. I plan to jump to the top with the single league method and then just play normally in leagues, not worrying if I don’t make it or get bumped down by cheaters. Because by then I will have already hit the top, spun the golden pig for items, and can just play for fun.

    You could use this method just for a week to get out of wood league and then play normally. Totally up to you. Just remember that you really can’t use the game at all for anything else if you want to stay in a solo league. Feel free to use your extra time to read a book (or get addicted to another game)

    Well at least this explains why our attempt at a ABN League did not work

    @tomc, glad it worked for you and you were able to get where you wanted.

    I’ve been still running the test and still have solitary leagues. I see @larry mentioned that the update is now forced. I haven’t logged in yet. Been really busy this past week. I haven’t wanted to play for that reason. Now that it is forced I will check to see what they have turned off, as far as old cheating support. Sounds like it may actually be fun to play now.

    My tablet got the update. I haven’t updated yet on my phone. I love how they are straight up open about the cheaters in the update text.

    rovioUpdate.png

    However they are still letting me log in with my old version of the game. I just checked and I can still reset my objectives with the timezone exploit. So until they force people to upgrade the game I do not consider this fixed.

    I had a game that was ended, in first place, solo player. I should have claimed my reward right away but I played the golden pig to see what would happen. After a few rolls I checked and was at rank 15 at 60 points. So You can be placed in a league even after the tournament has ended if you are not careful.

    So I noticed that Rovio has updated Epic today. My tablet got the update. I haven’t updated yet on my phone. I love how they are straight up open about the cheaters in the update text.

    @snarky @renitz @mvnla2 @larry @dragonofheart73 @kerravon @partshade @strategia55 (am I missing anyone)

    I’d say that spinning the golden pig is most certainly a factor. I took one of my games that was still on a single league and did nothing but spin the golden pig in the arena for a little while and then exited the game. Logged in today and am in last place in a full league on diamond league. I’ve got 10 points, so no point in trying to catch up. Heh heh

    Before I don’t believe I played the golden pig. Next week I will try going into the arena, NOT claiming my prize, playing golden pig, battling friends etc. Then claiming my prize on the last day about an hour before end of league, just to see what happens. No game play other than the one battle. We’ll see.

    @steven-dunn-5648

    @snarky, sorry to hear that the experiment didn’t work for you. What is your hardware?

    So reading the latest updates in the cheaters forum it looks like Rovio may be about to release an update which resolves the cheating issue. I imagine that it will also change the arena lineup enough to render this experiment invalid. I think we may get one or two more weeks at best to run this experiment.

    Also, has anyone with an iPad actually been able to get on a single league? I’m thinking that this may be an android only thing.

    I think you may be right. I don’t spend much time in the game right now other than Golden Pig Battle. I’m just too busy. I think the idea of joining a single league only short time before the end of the week and then not playing in the game until the reset time would work.

    And yes, naturally having a 100% advancement is not as much fun… BUT if you just spent a week battling hard only to loose at the end due to cheating then you may want to use this method for a week to claim the prize that you deserve, which was stolen away from you by a cheater. If Rovio can fix the cheating problem then I see no reason to use this method. But until then…

    @mvnla2 and everyone,
    I’d like to understand what else is going on in the game. If you were successful or not in being alone in a league.

    How much, if any, game play did you do before/during/after entering the arena.

    How much time did you let elapse between logging in to check on your rank?

    How did you enter the arena?

    How do you exit the game?

    Did you use the Golden Pig?

    Did you visit any friends Pigs?

    I enter using the icon on the bottom right. I played the daily Golden Pig battle before the arena. I did not have any game play after entering the arena before I shut down the game. During the initial phase I did not use the Golden Pig, or friends GP. After the 24 hours and single battle, and re-exiting the game. I did use the golden pig a few times but not at the same time that I did a battle. I always waited a few hours between checking on my rank. Since I have no need to meet objectives I have always used the same line up so I’m not switching birds around. So far I’m keeping my solitary games, except for the one experiment where I played games until I got other players in my league. Normally I log out of the game into another one when I’ve got all 3 games up. At the start I was only quitting since I just had the one game.

    senigami
    @steven-dunn-5648

    @larry, During this initial testing I have not been signing out of the one account. I have been waiting to begin the other games. I started after 5 min, no waiting. (as an experiment) I was able to keep the league to myself, having not played more than one battle. I did not kill the app in between, just exited the app normally, pressing back button until it asked me to quit (android). ios will probably need to force quit from app bar.

    It wasn’t until I played a few battles in a row today that I finally joined up with a league of 10 people. I believe if I had not played 3 in a row I would still be in a single league.

    senigami
    @steven-dunn-5648

    @renitz, when you do play a battle do not stick around in the arena and do not play more than 1 battle at a time. Last week what I did was play the one battle to move my user to 1st place and then only enter to check on ranking the rest of the week. On one of the games I did play 1 round once in a while when checking just to see if I stayed alone, but I never played more than 1 round.

    senigami
    @steven-dunn-5648

    Okay, I have some more information on keeping a single league. If you only play one battle and leave the arena and then come back later and play another battle then it appears you will stay alone. If you play a few battles in a row then you will get joined up with other members even using my method described.

    Perhaps you don’t need to even wait the 24 hours to play a battle. I would like to try to just leave and enter the arena between battles to see if you can avoid joining a league.

    After following my instructions on a game that I began on Sunday, waited 24 hours, played one round, waited again (about 20 hours) then started playing battles. After the 3rd battle I noticed I was in 5th place. If I had left the arena after the first battle and then re-entered I may not have been joined. Again, this needs more testing. It seems like what I have heard from others that joining happens after multiple battles in a row.

    Last week I had no played more than a few rounds on each game total for the week, never consecutively. I was able to finish the week as the only player in all cases.

    @steven-dunn-5648

    @strategia55, that will be good. One point of this experiment is to try different things to explore the effects of their results. I look forward to your report.

    senigami
    @steven-dunn-5648

    @strategia55, I would recommend not hanging around in the area during if you can help it during the 24 hours between claiming the prize and the first battle. I mentioned that I have been joined to a league in the past just hanging around on that screen without playing a battle. I believe playing golden pig would join you to a league. If you want to try the experiment I would not play the GP.

    On a side note, the game that I started only minutes after the start of the week, (using the method described) is still going well as a solo team. In a few more hours I will hit the 24 hour mark and then I’m going to spend some time in there on the GP and doing battles to see if I will join up to other players. Still trying to work out what the rules are for joining a league. Who knows, perhaps this is creating a unique signature for an arena and we will see each other.

    senigami
    @steven-dunn-5648

    @kerravon, I believe that the only reason I was 15 was because the program is not designed for single player leagues and hit a display error when rendering the output. That is why every player was unnamed with no image. They had random scores. But when generating the placement the null players did not factor and I was still in first place.

    senigami
    @steven-dunn-5648

    update, 2 hours in and I’m still alone. Only checking for the briefest of time. I’ll check again in another couple of hours. It is looking good that this method may work even on the first day. I claimed my prize 5 min after week’s end.

    senigami
    @steven-dunn-5648

    @mimi27, Please re-read my instructions. If you start a few hours later then you nullify the experiment. you must wait an additional 24 hours from claiming your prize before starting a battle.

    senigami
    @steven-dunn-5648

    No problem claiming my award. It was a little bit strange because the ranking summary board filled up with unnamed players. at first I was worried because on the list I was showing at number 15 with 35 points. yes that means I only played 1 battle be in tire week. However once I went to spin for my award I was in first place and advanced to the next level. I think they were just confused how to represent a league with only 1 member.

    So overall it was a success, I will be checking back in a couple of hours to make sure I am still the only member.

    I am going to use my android phone and will be starting my 3 accounts on 3 consecutive delays 0, 24, and 48 hours (plus 15 min to be sure)

    I will be happy to experiment with one of my accounts by claiming right away. When I did this a few weeks ago I did indeed end in 1st place as the only member of the league. I’ll let you know the results.

    senigami
    @steven-dunn-5648

    @larry – unknown. These are good reasons for wanting others to help test this. I would like to experiment with various alternatives to the procedure that I have come up with. I only know that what I outlined works every time. I would like to know how close to the start I can push it. I do know that the KEY to this is the disconnecting from the server and waiting 24 hours from the claiming of prizes to the first arena battle.

    @steven-dunn-5648

    For all those wishing to avoid cheaters completely, and guarantee advancement in the league:
    I have come up with a method that I have used several times now which enables me to create solitary leagues. Here are the steps I used.

    1) Wait at least 24 hours from the start time of the week’s set before claiming your prize. I recommend over 48 hours if possible. (I mostly waited 48 to 72 hours just to be sure)

    2) After claiming your prize DO NOT start a battle. Instead, leave the arena. I completely shut down the game just to be certain. Hanging around in the arena section will eventually join you to a league even if you don’t start a battle. You need to remove the connection to the servers.

    3) Periodically throughout the day I would check to make sure I was still the only member of the league, because if I wasn’t then it meant I failed and needed to play the objectives. In every case I was not joined up. Remember to shut down the game after checking to sever the connection to the servers. If you want to play the normal game just make sure you exit after checking the arena before loading it to play the regular game.

    4) Wait another 24 hours before playing a battle in the arena. The 24 hour increments are based on the start time of the weekly arena, or 20:00 GMT+0.

    5) at this point you are locked in to the single league and can play as little or as much as you like. You will always be in first place.

    I’m not sure how late you need to start with this method in order to have a league to yourself. I have not tried it less that 48 but in theory it should work. I have done this using android but I believe it should still work with apple. Just make sure you kill the app when you exit. I would love for some others willing to try this method with me next week to see how results may vary for you.

    @larry, good question. These are all on android. Sometimes 3 different devices, but all Android. Would love to run the same experiment on apple.
