@killerKea ~ If I remember this subject well the signal (+ or -) of a number on some systems is given by the leftmost bit. If that bit is a 0 the number is positive and it is negative if the bit is 1. FFFF is hexadecimal for a binary number with 32 bits, all 1s. It is the highest binary number that you can represent with 32 bits but as the leftmost bit is 1 it is a negative number of 31 bits where negative numbers are taken into consideration. As a programmer, myself, let me elaborate. The program allows 32 bit numbers and treats all the bits as significant AND as positive numbers. It’s only the routine that writes the output on the scoreboard that is rendering the number as negative.
For example “111” in binary would be 7, but if the first bit is treated as a sign, it would be -3 (because 11 in binary = 3 in decimal).
Here is a reference that may explain it better: http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_4/chpt_2/3.html
ToothGnasher@toothgnasherI guess this isn’t out for Android yet… Since I play on both iOS and Android, I can’t update until it’s there for both.
ToothGnasher@toothgnasherI reported this freeze/crash issue to Rovio but haven’t heard a thing from them. Anyone else who’s been bitten by the bug had a response from Rovio?
ToothGnasher@toothgnasherDon’t you love it when you get objectives like this: Win with Chuck and Red. Win with Paladin, Win with Rainbird.
On the “win without healing your birds” there is another gotcha. You cannot, use Plushies with Blue or Phoenix with Chuck – reviving counts as healing.
ToothGnasher@toothgnasher@2000mushroom Crashes, yep. As I previously posted, it crashed 3 times in a row on me one day (so no points) and twice on the previous day. The crashes have been on both my iPad and my Android phone.
ToothGnasher@toothgnasherI have another account, one I used to play on my iPhone (now Android), but I can’t log in on the Emulator, so… data collection has come to an end for me.
ToothGnasher@toothgnasherWorst crash I am seeing is in Arena battles. Yesterday I suffered one real defeat and then two crashes during battle. Of course when I get the app back up it has marked me as defeated 3 times in a row. Today, I lost THREE times the same way. I’m going to spend some LC and file complaint/ticket with Rovio.
ToothGnasher@toothgnasher@kerravon Changed my icon for the season, yes. Apparently I was getting confused with others who were using Bomb as their Avatar. In fact, I just changed it again to something you’ll recognize instead of the Clash of Clans screen grab.
@strategia55, @kerravon: Not everyone is affected by the reset. I don’t seem to be affected… which is pretty hysterical since my top prize is, gulp, 500 snoutlings and 1,400 snoutlings bonus since all my birds are level 10 already.I’ve only played it a bit to see what the opposition is. For example, I’ve had no trouble beating Santa Pig (except just now when I accidentally hit the autoplay button while trying to get a screen shot).
My Santa Pig combo is Thunderbird10 (Time Jump), Captain10 (Sugar Rush), Skulkers10 (Robot Set). I usually do Skulkers on himself which increases the damage each pig gets by 30%. Then depending on the number of pigs and their strength I either enrage Captain and drop the chili on Thunderbird, or use Thunderbird on the strongest opponent then drop the chili on Captain. Sometimes Thunderbird’s extra turn (Time Jump set), is just perfect to finish off the stragglers!
(Edited to add screen shot and fix typo)

It would be really nice if @toothgnasher, or someone else who can do automated runs, would verify the points per minute for CPC compared to KPC.
I can’t do that anymore. All of my birds are 10s so I can no longer measure mastery changes. Also, ABE will not “Log In” on my emulator so I can’t run it there anyway.
However, CPC in blitz mode* was by far the fastest mastery collection. I previously posted my results, but in summary – all mastery per hour (mph) below are totals for three birds.
Blitz mode means I didn’t use auto play. Usually it means I dropped the rage chili on Bomb, then restarted the game – and that didn’t usually kill the Big Boss!
I’m suspicious of anything that ran less than an hour, but here is my results over 200+ hours of automation:
ToothGnasher@toothgnasherI was just now able to login on my iOS (iPad) device.
ToothGnasher@toothgnasherInteresting… that is exactly what I have been getting on my Android emulator – but without the red and white text.
I just force quit my iOS app and it also hangs on the “Logging In” screen as you’ve noted.
ToothGnasher@toothgnasherI have the event, but since my birds are all 10s my top prize is … 500 SNOUTLINGS… woohoo! (satire) Literally the wheel is full of 500s. I can get 1,400 snoutlings for finishing on top, too… but I’ve already accumulated 148,000 of them so 2000 or so more is not very appealing.
I also notice the game is crashing a lot more. So far I haven’t been smurfed back to zero though.
ToothGnasher@toothgnasherThe question has been asked before, but IMHO, get the Golden Chili first. It’s a much bigger advantage.
ToothGnasher@toothgnasher@graugeist Berserker is actually the strongest bomb when the rage chili is full. At level 10, my Berserker gets 909 + 50% or 1363. Captain gets 1337.
Skulkers (on himself) + Berserker with Rage Chili = 1772 damage to all – WITHOUT a critical strike.
Toss in Thunderbird (which also increases damage by 25%) and, well, let’s say I’ve had trouble losing a match.
ToothGnasher@toothgnasherWell, head to head battles might be interesting to me now… I’m 100% level 10 with all birds, but as I reported, it gets stuck logging in on my Android emulator.
ToothGnasher@toothgnasherGolden Chili is the best upgrade to get… it usually goes on sale shortly after you start the game (75 LC if I remember correctly)… That’s the time to buy your LCs, IMHO.
Don’t bother with the cauldron or forge (anvil) updates… it’s cheaper (and sometimes more effective) to re-craft items from materials, and you can always spin again with Friendship essence. Toward the end when your birds are powerful you will WANT to be able to forge weak weapons. Besides, what you get from the Golden Pig Machine will be generally as good or better than what you can forge.
(Sorry, took three re-edits to correct the spelling…)
ToothGnasher@toothgnasherTo be specific: 1.2.1 gets stuck on the “Logging in…” screen in the Andy Android Emulator.
I’ll try it in Genymotion later and see if it fails in that emulator too. You know what this means, right? It means that I can’t pretend to be working at my desk anymore… someone will notice me staring at my iPad. :-)
ToothGnasher@toothgnasherHeads up: My Andy android emulator cannot login after upgrading to 1.2.1.
ToothGnasher@toothgnasherI’ll be all level 10 birds in a few days, 3 stars everywhere. Not sure that anything Rovio can do with Angry Birds Epic at this point to keep me playing it. On the other hand, I did spend about $45 real dollars, learned how to “Bot” the game to avoid tedium, and even how to hack it… But my $ are now being spent on Clash of Clans – over $125 in unused gift Visa cards I couldn’t find any other way to spend!
ToothGnasher@toothgnasher@rucustumm Try using Skulkers on himself – that weakens all enemies. You can also use Skulkers on a stronger bird to attack ninjas (because the attacking bird only uses 35% power). Use Skulkers on Druid or Rainbird, for example, and you can get the “Thorny Vine” or “Acid Rain” applied to characters that would not normally allow it (provided they are not immune).
ToothGnasher@toothgnasherTo follow up, I think I figured out what is causing the “Locked” issue… loss of connection. My WiFi router was resetting periodically and I noticed after a loss of connectivity, things showed “Locked for 00:00:00”
Restarting the game clears the problem – at least on the Android Emulator I’ve been using. Curiously I’ve never seen the problem on iOS – but I have seen it say things like: “Next Classes at 12:34:56” – that’s also a strong indication that a force-quit of the game is needed.
ToothGnasher@toothgnasherIn several other discussions people have noted that making in-game purchases seems to vanquish the “forced” ads.
ToothGnasher@toothgnasherSeaDog has his charms, but so does Thunderbird. Thunderbird renders his victim 30% weaker. Pair that with Skulkers and you’ve got a powerful “fast weaken” because Skulkers also weakens the pigs. You didn’t ask, but Skulkers is preferable to either of Thunderbird or SeaDog, IMHO.
ToothGnasher@toothgnasher@dr_ishmael Did your left hand know what your right hand was doing? :-)
@drobbinsjr – Not sure who your comment is directed at, but as several of us have pointed out, all we have left to do in ABE is to figure out how to maximize things. All caves are done, all levels 3-starred, and – in my case at least – only 4 birds left to get from level 9 to level 10. Anyone who has friended me gets the benefits of my Level 9/10 birds, too… so I’m performing a community service… :-)ToothGnasher@toothgnasher@mvnla2 asked:
@toothgnasher — Thanks! But why do you need to play an Android version?
There are three reasons:
- There are more hacking tools for Android while there is NO emulator for iOS,
- The 100 LC is only available for Android; and, most significantly,
- There does not seem to be a Mac version of ABE.
