WhiteAsIce@whiteasice
I’m seriously going to rip my hair out because of all the problems with this update. First the level and rank raise means I have to grind experience, roll the Golden Pig Machine, and upgrade all weapons all over again. Then I rank up to 13 only to find out that my birds got weaker. Then I lost my Elite classes, including my Corsair that got turned back into Pirate (spent $40 for that upgrade!). Then I lost all my Arena progress.
GG Rovio, you turned into another greedy mobile game company that just wants microtransactions.
WhiteAsIce@whiteasiceThey left Valiant broken for… over a month? I don’t expect Rovio to fix this until next month.
WhiteAsIce@whiteasiceWell, got a lot of my classes to Rank 13, and my birds are suddenly very weak. I think it’s time for me to quit this game as well.
WhiteAsIce@whiteasiceI get what you mean. Every time Rovio raises the level and rank cap, it basically becomes a battle of who will spend more money on the game. This is because of how many things rely on Lucky Coins to max out your birds there are:
– Class ranks
– 2x Exp potions
– Max level set items from the Golden Pig
– Crystals to upgrade the items
It’s sad that I’m already seeing maxed out opponents in the Arena, when the update is this fresh.WhiteAsIce@whiteasiceHere’s a tough one… I had to skip this as it was impossible for me to even get close. http://i.imgur.com/N2WcbGd.jpg
WhiteAsIce@whiteasiceThe new Blues set is in already?
WhiteAsIce@whiteasiceI figured out what is causing it. It’s the new ads that play on the pause screen. When I hit pause, the ads are running a video, even when the game is not paused and I am playing. These video ads that constantly run in the background are what cause my crashes.
WhiteAsIce@whiteasice@graugeist I use my Corsair as one of my core birds. I rarely use the others (Berserker when I can’t use chili, Capt’n when I need to KO 3 birds in 1 hit) since Corsair is a consistent 110% hit. Also with Valiant broken, Corsair’s support skill will last longer. Sea Dog is quite difficult to use in Arena because I have to keep him over 88% health to outdamage Corsair, and I don’t usually have all 3 birds alive since Arena foes love to spike down Chuck or Blues in one turn.
WhiteAsIce@whiteasiceFor reference, my Archmage before the upgrade http://imgur.com/a/V35nD
WhiteAsIce@whiteasiceScreenshots of my Elite Mage http://imgur.com/a/JaGzj
WhiteAsIce@whiteasiceI got Elite Mage, and its attacks are using the Archmage’s multipliers.
Mage: Storm does 55% damage, Shock Shield does 75% damage
Archmage: Storm does 61% damage, Shock Shield does 83% damage. My Elite Mage is using the same multipliers as Archmage. So I got the 10% base stats boost, and I retain the Archmage upgrade I had previously gotten.
If you never got the Archmage upgrade and just got the Elite Mage upgrade, please post your Chuck’s numbers to see what multiplier you are getting.
WhiteAsIce@whiteasiceChuck will still get KO’d in one turn in Arena fights. Even with the 10% health boost and a Vitality offhand, Blues has more health.
WhiteAsIce@whiteasice@smwforever45 Uh, Mage’s Shock Shield is based on Chuck’s base Attack, not Health. Shock Shield does 83% of Chuck’s base attack.
WhiteAsIce@whiteasiceElite Mage is actually a DOWNGRADE from Archmage. If you have the Archmage upgrade, it is not a good idea to transform it to Elite Mage. I use my Archmage as an example:
Archmage’s Storm does 61% damage. My Chuck has a base damage of 1786, so his Storm does 1089 damage.
Elite Mage would raise his base attack by 10%, so the base becomes 1964.6.
The modifier of Storm on regular Mage is 55%. Elite Mage’s Storm would deal 1080.53 damage, or 1081 when rounded. This means that Elite Mage would only deal 60.5% damage compared to Archmage’s 61% damage. You basically lose a little damage for 10% more health. Since Chuck has such little health anyways and gets killed in 2 hits in the Arena, some people will prefer to squeeze more damage out of him than give him 10% more health, 10% of the lowest health in the game.
WhiteAsIce@whiteasiceI got the “Knock out 3 birds per turn” and it is literally impossible. I did Bomb’s rage to KO all 3 birds in one turn. I did not get the objective done.
WhiteAsIce@whiteasiceWeapon set effects:
Red: Unyielding Guard – when another ally is attacked, there is a 10% chance that Red will cover the ally, taking the hit
Chuck: Shock Barrier – whenever Chuck is attacked, 15% of the incoming damage is reflected back at all enemies
Matilda: Purify – whenever Matilda uses a support skill, there is a 20% chance to cleanse all allies
Bomb: Discord – all allies deal 20% more damage to any foe with a positive buff
Blues: Switcharoo – when a foe uses a support skill, there is a 10% chance that Blues will steal itNeeds changes:
Valiant banner – reduce chance to 40%
Mana Shell – reduce chance to 50%
Time Reset – reduce chance to 20%
Scissors – increase chance or damage
Finisher – change it so that it applies debuffs when attacking a foe under 50%
Banner Breaker – increase chance or damageWhiteAsIce@whiteasiceAh crap. At this rate, there will be Elite Pirate. That means the $40 I spent for the code to unlock Corsair will become useless.
WhiteAsIce@whiteasiceRed: Templar
Smiting Strike: Deal 120% to target foe and apply Smite for 3 turns. When that foe attacks, that foe is damaged for 25% of its outgoing damage. This punishes a foe for attacking.
Astral Shield: Give all allies a shield that lasts 2 turns that absorbs damage equal to Red’s CURRENT health. If a foe breaks this shield before it expires, that foe takes damage equal to what the shield started with. So if Red uses this at full health and a foe breaks the shield on an ally, you can bet that foe will be KO’d.Chuck: Stormcaller
Jagged Lightning: Strike all foes for 45% damage. Foes with the broken armor debuff take double damage. Pairs well with Skulkers.
Static Shield: Give Static Shield to an ally for 3 turns. When a foe attacks this ally, Static Shield strikes all foes for 15% damage, and the attacking foe takes 25% more damage for 3 turns. Basically the Retaliate emblem plus an effect similar to Stone Guard.Matilda: Mender
Siphon Health: Attack a foe for 150% damage. For 3 turns, any healing on this foe is transferred to an ally with the lowest current health. Certain wizard pigs have an effect similar to this.
Revive: Give an ally a Revive buff for 1 turn. If that ally is KO’d within the next turn, that ally is instantly healed to 100% health.Bomb: Buccaneer
Parrley: Attack a foe for 90% damage. For 2 turns, this foe’s actions have a 20% chance to fail. (not cause damage, buffs won’t apply, etc)
Keen Eyes: Buff all allies for 3 turns. Those allies have +25% chance to crit, dealing x1.5 damage.Blues: Engineers
BoomerWrench: Attack a foe for 60% damage. The wrench will return during the enemy’s next turn, dealing another 60% damage. Similar to a one-turn venom attack.
Explosive Bots: Give a shield to all allies that absorbs one attack. When that shield is destroyed, it explodes, dealing 60% damage to all foes. Vengeance emblem turned into a skill.WhiteAsIce@whiteasiceIf you have the Golden Chili,
– Wizard w/ Twin Lightning
– Pirate/Corsair w/ Scissors
– Skulkers w/ Beep Attack
Use Pirate to buff, use Skulkers to debuff, then give Chili to Chuck. Watch enemies melt.WhiteAsIce@whiteasiceI can confirm that it’s only a 30% boost. I tested it with multiple team compositions, and it has been x1.3 the entire time. This also affects rage attacks against the banner too, so Red’s rage attack will do 30% more damage.
WhiteAsIce@whiteasiceUpon further testing, the number in the description is INCORRECT. This new weapon set only increases damage dealt to the banner by 30%. For example, if Pirate Bomb deals 1,000 with his normal attack, when the enemy banner is below half, Bomb would deal 1,300 damage. This is a persistent aura that affects all allies, so other birds get this 30% damage boost against the banner even if Bomb is KO’d.
WhiteAsIce@whiteasiceBomb’s new weapon set appears to be a persistent aura, similar to Chuck’s Mana set or Matilda’s Nightmare set. It is always in play even if Bomb is KO’d, and only triggers when the condition for it is met.
The wording of the set effect is ambiguous because it says that all allies deal 100% more damage to the banner when under 50% health. This brings up a few questions…
1. When who is under 50% health? The bird or the banner?
2. Is this 2x damage, or simply +100% damage? For example, would Paladin deal 270% damage, or 235% damage? The set effect sounds similar to the current banner set that doubles a bird’s damage & healing when under 25% health. With the current Valiant meta, this weapon set can’t be too threatening because of the spiking metagame. The AI tends to focus one character down per turn, so you either have a bird at near full health, or a KO’d bird. Valiant gives your birds absolutely no defensive stats, so realistically how often could you keep your birds under 50% health? This is a primary reason why Avenger doesn’t work in Arena because AI will focus on the bird with the least amount of current HP, which also explains why AI will always KO Chuck and Blues in one turn.
If you want to keep birds under 50% health, you’d need Paladin to shield that ally. If not, the AI will simply spike that bird down.
WhiteAsIce@whiteasiceAn Elite class increases that class’ BASE stats by 10%. The class’ skills remain the same.
A limited edition class increases the attack modifier by +10%. This is a flat addition to the multiplier, not x1.1 like the elite class.
In the case of Elite Knight, the attack is actually 126.5% of a non-elite Red’s base attack. For example, a level 50 rank 12 non-elite Red holding a Vigor offhand would have 1235 base attack. Non-elite Knight would deal 1420 damage with Attack (1235*1.15). After the Elite upgrade, Red’s base attack increases to 1359. However, the Knight keeps its x1.15 Attack modifier, so Elite Knight deals 1563 damage with Attack (1359*1.15). Compared to Red’s original base attack, this is 126.59% more (rounding errors).
An elite class will always be better than the limited edition classes because it’s another multiplier on top of the attack. It also increases that bird’s base health. Depending on the class, it can increase other effects as well. For example, Paladin and Cleric would heal more with their elite attack.
WhiteAsIce@whiteasiceInteresting. This Elite upgrade actually gives a 10% boost to Red’s BASE stats. The class skills remain the same – Attack still does 115% of Red’s base attack, and Protect is unchanged.
I wonder if they will add an Elite version of every class?
@datguygamer There are two multipliers. First it’s Red’s old base attack multiplied by 1.1 for the Elite status. Then the Attack is another 1.15 factor. So not only does Elite Knight have 10% more HP than the other classes, but Attack now does 126.5% of Red’s non-Elite attack. You can’t exactly say it’s negated – it’s just a bad class to use in both PvE and PvP.WhiteAsIce@whiteasiceI only have 7/20 of the final items because I don’t want to use stamina drinks for this. But once I unlock the class, I’ll do some numbers testing. My hypothesis is that Elite Knight will still be a crap class.
