Angry Birds Seasons: Christmas 3 Star Walkthrough Level 1-9

Our strategy for Season’s Greedings level 1-9 is to launch the White bird to bomb just left of the first structure, causing it to topple to the left. Ideally, the vertical stone blocks should clear out of the way. If so, launch the first Blue bird through the bottom of the central tower and into the snow and ice supports of the right structure. Use another Blue bird to clean up, if necessary. The score in the video is 95,330.

I got 109,910 with 2 birds. I launched the egg bird and dropped his egg on the sloped base of the close tower, just catching the end of the piece of wood that sticks out over the sloped piece of wood. The egg bird shot off into the belly of the tall tower, causing it to collapse on itself. There was so much damage that the ice and snow foundation of the right section was exposed. After that, a line drive shot with the blue bird, splitting him just before impact, took out enough ice and snow to take out the foundation of the home of the remaining 3 pigs, dropping that wooden section down and taking more ice and snow with it. There wasn’t much that was un-destroyed.

Wow, if it wasn’t for you guys, I’d be in dire straits, I used your method with a slight improvisation, I had to use my BB to shatter the center tower and the other BB to shoot out the foundation from underneath the pigs on the right, bottom line, I finally managed to finish this level with 3 stars, thank you for your most valuable input.

Thanks Jeff for the two bird strategy. Had to use three birds but it basically was the same technique. Two items need to occur in that all the stone blocks on the left need to fall along with the center tower with the White Bird.
The two bird strategy almost work a number of time except for the far right pig.

Oh how my heart sank when I saw that this snowy Wilderness was today’s challenge:( but then I realised that @kimmiecv & @Kathy were already out there,so it shouldnt be so bad! Not only that but @e-star had revisited! So I’ve put down my light saber & thrown on my snow shoes to come back to this misery;) well what do you know I improved by 6k thanks to our star:))! I may just leave the far off galaxy for a while & stay here a while……mmmm maybe not:( btw great shooting @kimmiecv :-D!

@jlz-666 I am so with you on this one, my least favourite AB episode ever. I haven’t managed to improve yet & for some reason E-star’s video won’t load for me, although our scores are similar so I probably used her method. I can’t decide whether to risk more frostbite & try to improve or just let this one go. Nice score you’ve got there, congrats :)

Ohhh @karen68 just noticed you’re “out of this world”! Congrats! Sorry I missed that one:( I’m sure with that score you must’ve been using her strat. I wonder why video doesn’t work? I’m def not risking frostbite & am walking away for good. I’m just glad I improved,not enough to even reach top 50 but heyho,any improvement in this nasty episode is a bonus!

Haha I am lost, not sure which “reply” button to click LOL
But @ Windwalker you are so welcome, glad I can be of help. How is the journey trough the AB games going? Still hooked? Guess Xebic pulled you in and now you can never leave again, so when ever in need, check in the ABA (angry birds anonymous) in the forum section. We haven’t found a way to deal with the addiction, but it’s nice to talk to fellow addicts about the addiction itself :D

@JLZ glad you survived the challenge and good call, frostbite is a looking around the corner when you revisit such cold and hard levels!

@Kimmie and @Kathy you brave eskimo’s good luck on your journey, I am so glad my revisit was done before you returned, hope the vids are of help

I remember way back when this level first came out and I didn’t know about the NEST then. I found a video online that showed me how to do this level different than I had been doing it. I had been shooting trying to ricochet into the tower much like everybody has tried and posted above and knew that I was using waayy too many birds and still leaving points on the ground. I had played this level far too long and was incredibly frustrated.
So for those folks wondering how it may be done differently, I looked in my bookmarks and lo and behold I still had the link AND it is still up. While @moonsabre doesn’t pop up in these parts much anymore I would be willing to bet that this is the strategy used for the high score.

@swelld – Having given up & come in from the cold, I was warming myself by the fire with 2 fingers of scotch when lo & behold you post a different, quite promising strategy for this level. Of course I couldn’t resist, so I threw on my mittens to try again.
I despise lobbing birds, but I improved by 6k. Thank you :)

@karen68 i think we would get along just grand! I think scotch, or in my case Kentucky Bourbon, steadies the twitchy finger quite a bit! Unfortunately it’s very much frowned upon while working so I don’t indulge nearly often enough to do very well on the daily challenge!

@swelld you’re right, the 1st shot was really tricky & my success rate wasn’t great, but my dislike of Seasons Greedings makes me determined to thumb my nose at it & score well so I kept at it & when it finally worked it was beautiful to see.
And scotch (or bourbon!) is good for everything. :)

@karen68 @swelld I’m back trying to improve a bit , and i have with E-star video, but not enough so I’m trying your strat again @swelld, i think the trouble is, Matilda no longer has a deflated carcass and her still fat body can no longer fit to drop the snowblocks? A lot to ask, but would either of you be willing to try this strat again and see if it still is possible?
If not i understand , is been quite a long time

Thanks @karen68 , no I haven’t got it yet, I’ll keep trying now that i know it’s possible :D this whole episode is tough lol, but i have to get through it, I’ve improved on a few so far,, they get harder as they go!
